I wondered whether I'm the only one starting to grow sceptic of duct tape. It doesn't work that well, it can't reliably stick anything to a wall reliably for more than 6 months, and when you take it off (or it falls off), it leaves you with whatever you taped with nasty slime all over the place. What are your views on duct tape?

I have a Duck tape wallet, and this is constantly a worry for me... I'm solving this by putting Business Cards behind all my cards with magnetic strips, is this necessary?

Things besides wallets, like the duct tape roses. Anyway, I'm bored and have lots of duct tape and don't know what to do with it. However, I don't have enough duct tape to cover pants in.

Ok, Ok, since this *is* and outdoors group/forum, and it *is* the nature of this website:What is your favorite use for duct tape? I want to hear about and see pictures of your improvisation and creativity in the outdoors at its best, using, of course, duct tape.

A few things I thought could make better duct tape wallets. 1: Buss-Pass/ I.D. Pocket, Perhaps a pocket made out of clear packing tape that covers the whole card could be used for I.D. or a Buss-Pass. 2: Coin Purse, A Sideways-facing pocket can be made to fold-out sideways from the wallet, when the pocket is folded-in, It acts like an envelope and keeps the coins in. 3: Dividing Page, A properly sized page taped on the inside "spine" of the wallet could be added to allow for more compartments. 4: Transparent/ Clear Carcass, The Carcass of the wallet could be made with clear packing tape or transparent duct-tape 5: Sports-Grade Grip-Tape/ Hockey Tape Parts, Parts of the wallet could be made from Grip-Tape or Hockey Tape, These products can be found in black, colors or transparent. Please Respond to this inquiry.

These are very nice pair of duct tape Converse. Made by covering normal Converse in duct tape, but I don't think that really counts, anyone out there wanna make a pair from only duct tape? No prize, unless someone wants to donate a patch for the first person to make a pair. Link at BoingBoing

During a manufacturing process, hot air flows through a duct carrying fine particles of a glutinous substance. With time, those particles stick to the walls of the duct and create a thick layer on them. This layer reduces the cross-section area of the duct, changing the velocity of the flow. To remove this layer, the flow has to be stopped. Any ideas of how to remove the layer without having to stop the flow? Or to prevent the buildup of the layer?

One room in the house we smoke, but when a window is opened all the smoke is sucked through the ac ducts to the main intake which is in a hallway right outside all the bedrooms. I believe this is because the room is generally ~10 degrees warmer than the main part of the house which the hallway is off of because it is a large, open area which is less insulated because of a vaulted ceiling and many large windows. I am looking for a way to seal the room off from the rest of the house without disabling the functionality of the AC/Heater. I've found this HVAC Damper which I think could work, but it's a bit pricey, and it's supposed to be hooked up to a controller unit, so I don't know if there's a way to hook it up to either the fan or thermostat so it just opens when the AC/Heater/Fan is on, and the closes after. I had also been thinking about building a box with a large, one-way valve, but the only design I can think of is a bit beyond my fabrication abilities. Any help, hints, or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Hello everybody, this is a new idea of mine that I want to share with you. the snap board concept. It is made of zip lock bags, card board, and duck tape. This idea could be used in notebooks or you could just make a wall of this and make all different bags and holders that snap on to the zip lock rail. You can slide the bags from side to side if you want. I might put this in a notebook case so that I can customize it with pencil holders and other organizers. Or I might make it so that I can snap on different covers and stuff like that . Please tell me any other ideas to use this idea and comments. I will post an Instructables when I make a true model and get feedback. Please comment and subscribe

Hello Instructables! I have a duct tape question for you! I am in need of a coating for the tape, and would like to know what you guys suggest I plan on making a duct tape satchel and I don't want the edges of each piece of the tape to fray at all. I made a phone case out of tape and noticed that it frays a lot when I put it in my pocket. I was wondering if there is any sort of glue that I can coat my phone case (and future-satchel) with that would be keep the tape from fraying and peeling Currently, I am using Nashua duct tape.

Pantry moth traps have dried out. rather expensive, i sought an alternative. placing ducttape in a cabinet where ive seen moths, perhaps they would randomly land on it i havent seen moths in that cabinet since. not on the tape or near it. tune in later to see if this is a fluke.

Recently at school there was an assignment in which we had to do a survey of 20 people. The teacher came up with 10 Questions and we had to come up with 5. Seeing that many people liked fire or duct tape, i asked which is better, fire or duct tape? The typical answer was "that's an impossible question" or "flaming duct tape". So which is better fire or duct tape? ***UPDATE MAY 5, 2011*** ok so the score so far is duct tape 9, fire 4, and flaming duct tape 1. and ratings 2 c'mon people lets get some ratings.

I had this problem trying to make the duct tape belt. I've even tried putting it on paper but it usually gets really uneven.
