None of the Instructables links are showing up on my firefox browser. What happens exactly is the website will show up, but then everything will disappear and only a blank webpage will be there. And when I mean everything disappears I mean everything down to the background colors, the logo and everything.

Have you noticed that the menu system does not appear to work with Firefox vs. 8? When I search using this method on Firefox, I never get a link to an actual instructable. Also, the adds seem to hover in the way of links. However, In IE vs. 8, the links work, but some of the text and link fields overlap. It just seems like there are some HTML programming issues that need to be addressed to make the site more navigable.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I have gotten on instructables, but I intend on getting back into the swing of things. On another note, I have since downloaded firefox onto my mac and noticed an add-on called Persona. This allows the user to create / download other peoples header and footer backgrounds. I have been messing around in photoshop trying to create one of my own (featuring instructables). I am not the best at it, but I have made one and posted one there anyway. If anyone wants to use it / make it better, be my guest. The only thing I ask in return is that you tell me you made it better so that I can use it. As of this moment, the instructables header and footer haven't shown up yet, but they will soon. This is my first go at actually using the photoshop software (got it free a while ago). Post any improvements you make, or suggest some.

Firefox is controlled by robots. This is an easter egg in firefox. Just type in about:robots in firefox. Update: when you press try again, a new button appears that says please do not press this again, if you press again, there is no more button.

I don't know if it's just me or something might not be working correctly on the site: ALLSTEPS not working in Firefox. Whenever I click on an ALLSTEPS link in Firefox, the query on the url never appears in the address bar. Has anyone else had this problem? If I manually edit the query string to ?ALLSTEPS=true, then it works correctly.

Recently, for some unknown reason, firefox started displaying the following pages very strangely: lifehacker, io9, and gizmodo. They all have a similar set-up but I can't figure why they don't display correctly. Below is a screenshot of the problem. If further images are needed they can be provided. Any ideas please comment or PM me. Thanks.

When using firefox 20.0 on a macbook pro i get the message "Instructables is experiencing technical difficulties! We're terribly sorry about this and we're doing our best to fix it. We'll be back online as soon as we can." However if I use Safari on the same computer at the same time the web site works, but the upload button doesn't work as the plug in says its blocked. I will try fix at this end and upload a screen shot. Ok so I updated to firefox 22.0 and it all seems to work now, that is a very strange bug.

Hi there, I am on a MacBook, running system 10.6.8, using Firefox v 29.0.1. When I go to various instructables (I checked out the "nettles" one and the "corroded battery terminals" cleaning one,, I cannot download the PDF. It asks me to sign in, and then asks me to sign in again, not acknowledging my having done so. When I went to the "Forums" page, the upper right hand of the site DID indicate that I was signed in. I found using Safari I could download the files I want, but I prefer to use Firefox. This has been the case for a while now, even through a few Firefox upgrades. I am assuming that others are not having the problem? Sorry to be writing to you via this means, but couldn't figure out how to do so on the "bugs" page, and it looks like no one has written on those pages for 2 years. Thanks for your help on this. Catherine

Hello, Facebook connect doesn't work on firefox 20.0.1. O.S: Archlinux, kernel version: 3.8.7-1-ARCH. It works on chromium 26.0.1410.63 (192696). Step to reproduce: from the main page, choose facebook login from the upper right corner. Nothing happens when I click on it. If I copy the URL in a new tab, at least I get an error from facebook: "Given URL is not permitted by the application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains."

I am running Firefox 12.0. I click the link from your emails, and it takes me to the instructable page. Issue one: firefox never remembers my username. Issue 2: When I click login at the top right of page, enter my info, and click login, it never logs me in! I only see the Signup, Login and Facebook on the top right of the page. I can't access my account, and I'm not able to Favorite any articles. I couldn't even login to post this bug! I would go to the bug section, click new topic, sign in, click new topic again, and I'm brought back to the login screen. I'm also not sure if its supposed to have it or not, but the popup/splash screen to login has no "Keep me singed in" check box. Everything works fine in IE 7 though.

When I switch pages in answers there is a 7 second delay. I'm using Firefox 3.62 and it does this on two systems running on different providers. If I go to a question page the page comes up and I don't have control of the cursor for 7 seconds. The only error message I've been able to see said there was a script that was not finished. I've checked for virus and malware. When I go back to the main questions page the same thing happens. Does instructables have a broken script?

Currently, on FF21, and Chrome, I can't post new images to the site as answers. I've flushed cookies as usual, no dice. Anyone else seeing it ? Yet HERE, in the forums, using the old code for the image uploader, it DOES work.....

I have multiple computers that I access Instructables on. My work PC, which runs FF3.6.3, the rich editor does not work at all, yet my home ones, same platform do work. What dependencies does the new editor have on .net components ? Steve

I'm fairly new to Firefox and have been looking for a long time but I can't find the Temporary Internet Files folder. I know where the normal one is for Windows Internet Explorer, but there is nothing there during and after surfing in Firefox. Thanks in advance.

While using firefox, if I click on all steps and it just reloads the step 1 page. It works fine in IE, as well as IE can work. This has been a problem for at least a month, probably when you switched to jump links. Please fix this as it is annoying to click through all the short steps.

My last instructable was featured, and Instructables gift me a free 3 months membership. I wanted to redeem the gift using Firefox, and I could not because there is no option "Submit" on the screen. Luckily I was able to do it from Internet Explorer, but I think that should not happen.

I have Firefox, and I love the bookmarks toolbar, but I did something, and all of the icons disappeared. If I hit bookmarks at the top of the browser, then bookmarks toolbar folder, they still show up as being there. The bar is there, but there is no icons in/on it. I'm sure that it is the right toolbar, too. Does anyone have any ideas?

Has anyone else been unable to get "View All Steps" to work recently in firefox? After logging in, I click on the View All Steps button on a given instructable and the page refreshes, but when it finishes, I'm still looking at only the first step. Even if I manually append "?ALLSTEPS" to the end of the url, when the page loads, "?ALLSTEPS" is cleared from the url and, again, only the first step. I'm using the latest version of firefox and have even tried disabling all my add-ons but to no avail. The functionality works as it should in IE8, but I prefer to use firefox.

I can't seem to log in to the site when using Firefox 54.0.1. After clicking on the "log in" button and entering my username and password, I get redirected to the homepage. I can log in using Safari, so I don't think the issue is with my account. I also tried clearing my history and deleting my cookies, but the problem still persists. Any ideas as to what's going on? Thanks!

True to form, Billy Rios promised a more in depth look at the MSFA2008-35 vulnerability which is another protocol handler flaw in Firefox 3. As previously reported here, this was another protocol handler flaw that led to arbitrary remote command execution, and is especially dangerous since it can be deployed widely through the use of a cross-site scripting attack vector. Note, Firefox3 no longer registers the Gopher protocol handler, which is a great security decision.Site Link - ZDNet

Yesterday I was able to print instruction pages with no trouble. Today, in both firefox and explorer, when I attempt to print I get a "encountered a problem and must shut down" message, and then I'm back to my desktop. I've tried on 2 different computers with the same result.

Hi ... can someone help to set Google as the search engine (in Mozilla Firefox), so that it works like this : when I write any word (that I'm looking for) instead of the WWW address (in the "url bar") ... and hit enter, so it shows me the google results ??? And I don't mean the google search bar in the right top...I know about that solution. Thank you in advance ... Zholy

I have found in the last few days that I am being logged out when I try to go from Editors Picks or any other tab to Recent in the Workshop category. If I change categories to say Technology select Recent then move back to Workshop it keeps me logged in but when I move from Recent into another tab then return to recent I am logged out again. I have tried logging back in & then selecting Recnt but it simply logs me out again & I am looking a page full of of adverts. I am running Windows XP Home SP3 & Firefox 11.0, it works fine in Internet Explorer so I assume it is a Firefox issue. Is anyone else having a similar problem?

Hi All, After upgrading to Fedora 14 I find that the login button is now hidden behind the "Answers" tab at the top of the screen. See attached image. I accidentally found a different way to login when I went to create this posting. Otherwise I'd been out of luck. I'm using FIrefox 3.6.13 as my browser. Thanks FisherOfRolander

I've been a user of FF for many years, and have probably a couple 1000 bookmarks. More than half were setup in the old days, before I could search and tag them with the Wonderful toolbar or whatever they called it. They are saved in various bookmark folders. The tag system is much more powerful. I don't think I have used the old system to store a bookmark for a couple of years. Is there any practical reason to keep the old system, or should I just inventory and tag the old files ? How do other people handle topics in their bookmarks ? Any pointers, as usual, much appreciated. Steve

When making an Instructable sometimes the all the text for a step disappears. Seems to happen when I am adding, tagging, or reorganizing pictures. Why is it doing this? I've had to revert to older versions twice now, loosing a lot of progress and changes along the way? Seems to happen in firefox and chrome. It's worked fairly well in IE, but I hate everything else about IE, so I'd rather not use it.

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I use Firefox 3.6.16 at work, and since last Friday have been getting this message on the main index page: The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. * This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies. I have all cookies enabled. I've disabled them, refreshed, logged out, rebooted, and reeneabled in so many combination's that my head now hurts and my computer is dizzy. I had another tab open to an 'ible, and am able to browse through various forums that way (thus I'm able to post this), but whenever I go to the main index page I get this error. I tried using Internet Explorer (shudder), but it just gives the ever-helpful "can't connect" standard IE error message. I haven't tried using FF4 yet (I have that running at home).

This is the third time this has happened (the first time I thought it was the video I was trying to share), but when I get to the part where I click on "preview" for my question or forum topic, the screen goes blank and even after 5 minutes nothing changes. I can return to the previous page and everything I have typed is there. I tried going to Firefox and was able to post just fine. That is how I am able to do this right now. Is there a reason I can't use Safari for posting in this section, I can do everything else on Instructables from Safari.

I am a new member here, registered, all of that. After I took care of that, I tried to visit the store. The first block was the declaration that I wasn't signed in. Oh, but I was! However, I tried to sign in again - but screen asked twice for email and no blank for user name. I got rejected there, tool Not to be outdone, I came back today with determination. Ha! Just run a ditto through all the problems. Maybe I am being discriminated against because I am Firefox - perhaps it is because I am a Macgirl. Whatever the reason, everything else works OK - but you won't ever have to worry about selling me anything if you won't open the door.

I have recently noticed a change in the behavior of Firefox (10.0.1) on my Ubuntu 11.04 system. "Normally," meaning a few weeks ago, when I first opened the Instructables home page I would select a subject, click on the link and go to that page in a new tab. I have set preferences to put all the instructions on one page for me, but to to this I need to be logged in.In the upper right corner of my browser window is a link "log in." I clicked the log in link and was (normally) able to see all the pages on one page... but now, when I click the log in button I am taken away from the page I am trying to see, logged in, but not taken back to the page I have chosen. Here is a screenshot of the unwanted destination: p.s. minor nuisance... but a bug is a bug! Thanks!

I use the latest Firefox and have a problem with this site only, so I'm assuming it's the website and not the browser. When I go to a next page, the browser many times has to re- log me (if I've only been on that page for less than a few seconds, it doesn't do that). Also when I go to a next page, it'll briefly show that next page, but then jerk me back to the very first page. EX1: Viewing the entries for a contest and click on the next page, it'll jerk me back to page one or it'll even take me to the contest details page. EX2: Viewing items under a subject that has several pages. I click on the next page (or even the next number, does for both ways), it briefly shows that next page and then jerks me back to page 1. I can be on page 10 and click on 11 and it jerks me back to page 1. This has been happening for a couple of months now, so it doesn't seem to be going away. Any ideas?

I have a request that might sound a little strange. Does anyone know if it is possible (and if so, how) to set a blacklist within a whitelist on ABP? Context- I have whitelisted Instructables on adblock because the ad impressions I get help fund the site, but those bouncing flashing multi-coloured seizure inducing "You are the 999,999th visitor congratulations you WON!" adverts drive me to the brink of insanity. Can I, say, whitelist "all adverts on Instructables except GIFs"? Or have a blocking filter for "www.instructables.com/*.gif" that takes precedence over the whitelist?
