Is it just my eyes, or is Fungus the Bogey Man lurking about on ebay?

I have a small 5 gallon aquarium in a cupboard and there is fungus all around the wood in the cupboard! How do I stop this fungus from growing there. I also have a big aquarium for almost 5 years now whose hood is always very damp, but never had fungus on it. Anyone knows why this is happening with the small one?(And there is no difference in placing. They are both side by side)

My presence has been a little lighter on the site lately. Not so many cookie patches or links to things on the internet that catch my eye as I'd like. The reason for all this is that a couple weeks ago, my son was born. At 42 minutes into 09/09/09 we welcomed Orion Nikola Lewis into the world. Everyone's been doing just fine. Life has changed and all for the better.

You host these Cookie Jar events that are much loved by the community, partaking a few times myself. I just have to know though, where do the patches come from? I know the number you give out far exceeds the 45 you get free for going PRO, so do you buy extra just for us? Special rules for that sort of thing?

I have a small fire safe I use for storing documents and backup drives. Yesterday I opened it to find this stuff growing on the inside. It has a crunchy outer texture that crumbles if you touch it, and a bit of liquid inside. It wasn't there two months ago when I last opened the safe, and I've never had problems with it in the year I've owned the safe. I have moisture absorbers inside, and live in a dry climate. Any ideas what this could be, and whether I can just wipe it down with cleaner or need to take stronger measure? Thanks.

Well it appears that there is FUNGUS?!?! in my bathroom. Because our bathroom was never finished off properly, the shower leaks down the side and seeps into the wood trimming around the door on the right side. Well all it had done till now as get black with mold, but there is F****** fungus growing out (key word is OUT of the wood) of the trimming. Anyone got any ideas what I can do? Bomb it with some bleach? Anyone want a picture? It freaked me out when I saw it :PUpdate:Pictures, I had to take my laptop and webcam into my bathroom :-/

Greetings I started growing an avocado tree from a pit...it's at least 8 months old now. My roommate said it was important to nip off some of the top shoots so that it would get stronger lower leaves. After it got about 20 inches tall, we nipped off the top, and now a few weeks later the top half of the trunk is showing signs of what I can only assume is infection. The bottom of the stalk/trunk is quite strong and stiff - as are the 6 or so leaves coming from it. Above that, where the newer leaves are, the stalk is mottled with 2-5mm long dark spots running vertically, and all the leaves in the area with the spots are paper thin, slightly translucent, and very weak. On top of them they have a waxy shiny sheen, where the healthy leaves do not. The healthy leaves are quite erect sideways, opaque, and vibrant dark green - while the weaker leaves droop almost vertical, are translucent, and lighter in colour. Is it an infection? Is there anything I need to worry about? Is there anything I can actually do? Pictures: 1) Good bottom 1/3 section 2) mottled middle 1/3 section 3) mottled top 1/3 section

In a recent comment to an I'ble (c.f. my feature request for why there's no link here :-), Fungus Amungus noticed a peculiar formatting bug.If you enter multiple underscore characters in sequence, they get collapsed to one, e.g., "_", where I typed e.g., "_____"In order to see all the characters, you have to separate them by spaces, "_ _ _ _ _". That's, different, of course, than a solid line.

Fungus enjoys cutting bears in half, being a dinosaur, and Swedish sports.Noah is experienced at pouring water through his nose, putting on condoms and kissing. So the big question is, Who would in in a fight?Best answer gets a patch =]Tally so far:Ed (fungus) : 11Noah: 5The results are in! And they're pretty inconclusive. While Fungus Amungus won by sheer voting power, those that know them voted for Noah. Fungus had this to say about the underdog, "Noah's been a river guide for the past month so he's probably pretty strong right now." So who would win? The world may never know. What we do know is that I'm awarding patches to both Goodhart and AndyGadget for the most logical, and systematic guesses, respectively.

I am growing Garlic indoors in potting soil, dirt from outside, and coffee grounds. Fungus is growing. My Hydrogen Peroxide and water mixture is not able to kill it effectively. I'm pretty sure this is common fungus because I worked on the grounds crew at a golf course for a few years. Is there an organic fungicide or another solution to this problem? Thanks in advance.
