Printing my logo designs onto a usb flash drive any ideas?

Hi guys, I need to print some white graphics onto a flat black USB flash drive, I've included a picture.  I'd prefer to do this using a silkscreen process of some sort. Do you have any ideas about the most efficient way to get this done. I want to avoid Pad printing because of the high cost. I have 200 to print on both sides (400 prints total). Let me know what you think, thanks!

Help getting an Asus Eee PC Netbook Screen turned into a Graphics Tablet

So my sister has just received a new  laptop because her old Eee PC Netbook's hard drive has somewhat died. The screen itself and some other components are still good, especially the screen. Its size would make a really good graphics tablet, but im not quite sure how to get this screen made into one. Ive looked online for some info about this and have turned up too little info to work with. Anyone have any ideas?

Remove the *entire* instructables header, NOT just graphics

As requested by  https://www.instructables.com/member/weblionx/. No, I don't know why either. But hey, who am I to judge? You need greasemonkey and, optionally for firefox, the stylish addon. Install and enable the following scripts:http://userstyles.org/styles/15029http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/59367Please note, you will need to either stay logged in all the time (so keep cookies on!) or else disable these scripts to be able to login, use the forums, and upload new instructables and the like, unless you type the urls directly - laborious! Please let me know of any bugs.

My computer won't boot fully after installing new graphics driver

A long time ago I messed with something on my computer, and after that it can't display resolutions about 1024x768. It used to be able to display a higher resolution. (It is a inbuilt GPU, not a seperate card) I tried searching for a new driver, but after I install it, and reboot (BTW: I am using Windows XP), it just ''cycles'', it will boot up to the Windows XP loading screen, then it just reboots, and goes back to where you can select safe mode etc. Then it just tries to do it again. When i choose boot with last known good configuration, it will boot properly, but that doesn't solve my original problem. Any ideas on how I can update the driver without that happening? Thanks, Thermoelectric!

Surely there's an app...? (Software recommendations, please)

So, I have this new HP Sprout that I totally wasn't expecting. It's got a large touchscreen and this cool projector-scanner-touchmat combo that should be really useful for... something. The first thing I actively want is to be able to create files for my laser cutter (running Lasercut5.3), just by drawing with fingertips or stylus.  In my head, I see a version of Inkscape that works on the touchmat, but only responds to the stylus (to save weird lines from knuckles, elbows...).  I have Inkscape downloaded, but it won't work with the touchmat. Second, it would be nice to start learning how to create are actually 3d already, that could then become lasercut-able or 3d printable. Again, it would be nice to use the full potential of the machine, so what software would you recommend? Third... what?  have you got any cool ideas? On top of all this is the consideration of cost.  Free would be nice - if you are a software developer, I don't mind having a go with Beta products (I'm known for breaking code, so if it can survive me...).

Free Design Course This October

I thought this looked like something that would appeal to other members of instructables. This coursera course  "Design: Creation of Artifacts in Society" is run by Professor Karl T. Ulrich from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. It is totally free and runs for 8 weeks from Oct 21st 2013: https://www.coursera.org/course/design?utm_classid=971091&utm;_nottype=course.newsession.signup&utm;_notid=1166&utm;_linknum=1 "This is a course aimed at making you a better designer. The course marries theory and practice, as both are valuable in improving design performance. Lectures and readings will lay out the fundamental concepts that underpin design as a human activity. Weekly design challenges test your ability to apply those ideas to solve real problems. The course is deliberately broad - spanning all domains of design, including architecture, graphics, services, apparel, engineered goods, and products"

Free Instructional Illustrations

I want to create some instructional illustrations for an instructable to be published here. Who's? I still don't know. There will be no cost to it. Just tell me about the instructable that you are working on so we can work through it. How does it work The illustration will be based upon a photo. You will take a picture that you want to use in your instructable and I will vectorize it by tracing over the image. Then, I will send the vectorized image back to you so you can publish it. Copyrights The work rights will be under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0). That means that I just need you to put my name on the credits of your post. I will use the images in my portfolio and/or will be published on my website. About Me I am a graphic designer and web developer that decided to join the United States Coast Guard a few years ago. I loved my job but I wanted to do something different and serve. I love what I do now but I miss designing so much that I've decided to do it for free. I guess is still serving the community.

DESIGN tutorials!

I've been looking around, and it seems like generally instructables users are not web/graphics designers. There needs to be a section for the design tutorials!!! Anyways when my schedule frees up in the future, I'll add some flash and dreamweaver tutorials... otherwise there is a major lacking of web DIY instructables! what you guys think? Dont you guys wanna learn how to DIY (design it yourself)? I am talkin about design here, not art.

Something from Nothing: Films on Design & Architecture

If you're interested in Yerba Buena Center for the Arts' TechnoCRAFT exhibition, you might also want to know about the design film series we're hosting this summer.  See below for more information. SOMETHING FROM NOTHING: FILMS ON DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE Sundays, Jul 11 thru Sep 5, 2 pm In conjunction with our TechnoCRAFT gallery exhibition, we present these eight matinee screenings, covering not only design, but architecture, motion graphics and craft. Sun, Jul 11, 2 pm Refrigerator Fetish: Vintage Industrial Design Films We kick off the series with a selection of funny, bizarre, and maybe even educational vintage product design films, from the 1920s forward. Examining the sensuality of the fridge, the rhapsody of the pencil and the mysterious polishing of unknowable objects, this promises to be a one-of-a-kind day at the movies. Presented live by film archivist Dennis Nyback. Sun, Jul 18, 2 pm Citizen Architect: Samuel Mockbee and the Spirit of the Rural Studio By Sam Wainwright Douglas Citizen Architect chronicles the work of the late activist architect Samuel Mockbee, and his radical educational program known as the Rural Studio. The program teaches students about the social responsibilities of architecture and charges them to provide original and inspirational homes and buildings (mostly from salvaged materials) in rural west Alabama, one of the poorest communities in the country (2010, 60 min, digital video). Preceded by the short Robin Hood Gardens (Or Every Brutalist Structure For Itself) by Martin Ginestie (2010, 17 min, digital video) Sun, Jul 25, 2 pm wow+flutter Assembled by onedotzero, the London-based cutting-edge new media group, this compilation program showcases the most progressive and unpredictable work in motion graphics and short-form media. Fresh talent and celebrated masters alike strive to expand, blur and explode traditional notions of what future moving images could be as a playground for creative expression. (2009, 70 min, digital video) Sun, Aug 1, 2 pm The Greening of Southie By Ian Cheney This incisive new documentary is set in the traditionally Irish-American working-class neighborhood of South Boston, where a new kind of building is taking shape. From wheatboard cabinetry to recycled steel, bamboo flooring to dual-flush toilets, the Macallen building is a leader in the emerging field of environmentally friendly design. But Boston's steel-toed union workers aren't sure they like it. And when things start to go wrong, the young development team gets a little more than they bargained for. A film about building the city of tomorrow…today. (2008, 72 min, digital video) Sun, Aug 15, 2 pm Infinite Space: The Architecture of John Lautner By Murray Grigor John Lautner was the Southern California architect. Even if his name isn’t familiar, you have likely seen pictures of some of his most famous works, such as the space-age “Chemosphere,” the octagonal house on a hill, which has become a Los Angeles landmark. Lautner believed that the purpose of architecture is to create timeless, free, joyous spaces for all activities in life. Infinite Space traces the lifelong quest of a man to create “architecture that has no beginning and no end.” (2009, 90 min, digital video) Sun, Aug 22, 2 pm Rem Koolhaas: A Kind of Architect By Markus Heidingsfelder and Min Tesch Rarely has an architect caused as much sensation outside of the architecture community as Rem Koolhaas. His outstanding creations such as the Dutch Embassy in Berlin, the Seattle Library, and the Casa da Musica concert hall in Porto are working examples of his visionary theories about architecture and urban society. An engaging portrait of the man and his work, the film takes us to the heart of his ideas. Koolhaas has stated "it's the only film about me that I have liked." (2008, 97 min, digital video) Sun, Aug 29, 2 pm The Visual Language of Herbert Matter By Reto Caduff SPECIAL SNEAK PREVIEW! A revealing look at the life story of a highly influential mid-century modern design master. Known as a quintessential designer's designer, Swiss-born Herbert Matter is largely credited with expanding the use of photography as a design tool and bringing the semantics of fine art into the realm of applied arts. Through never-before-seen footage, personal photography and stunning graphic design, the film explores the social and cultural impact of his personal visual language that influenced a generation of designers and artists. (2010, digital video) Sun, Sep 5, 2 pm Handmade Nation By Faythe Levine This charmingly low-fi film documents the contemporary crafting community. These artists, crafters and designers marry historical techniques, punk and D.I.Y ethos while being influenced by traditional handiwork, modern aesthetics, and politics. (2009, 65 min, digital video) Where: Something from Nothing: Films on Design & Architecture – 701 Mission St., San Francisco, CA 94103 – YBCA Screening Room Public Info: 415-978-2787 or ybca.org $8 regular; $6 students, seniors, teachers & YBCA members Enjoy same-day gallery admission for all YBCA presented films!

Looking for the right computer

8 years ago, my dad bought me a computer. It was decent enough, and served me well through school. It did however break down a lot, and over the years my computer(s) have gone through numerous iterations and fixes in an attempt to keep them working. With all the Frankensteining going on, very little (if any) of my original computer is left. These days even wiping the hard disks doesn't fix all the problems. So I find myself in the market for a new machine with very little contemporary knowledge of what to get. And here's where you come in: what does Instructables recommend (specific pieces of equipment if possible) in terms of hardware and computer specs? Usage: I'm a graphic artist focused more on the 2-D side of things; I need enough power and memory to work in large sizes( 40 MB multi-layer images with dimensions well over 10,000 x 10,000 pixels are not that uncommon, and working with a few of these at once will sometimes be necessary) and remain stable 24/7. The computer needs to be able to multitask, at the very least running windows explorer, firefox (tab addict), fireworks, a basic text editor, and a media player simultaneously.  It has to have at least a couple hundred gigs of space, and be able to display and edit large video files as well. I've got a couple thousand dollars handy, and can save for more if necessary; I just need a good machine that'll perform to expectations and remain error-free for as long as possible. So, Instructables, any suggestions?

Raster Graphic Editors (e.g. photoshop) Don't Like Filling

I've been having a bit of a dilemma with raster graphics editors such as Photoshop and GIMP. In either of the two programs, when I draw a solid line, it automatically fades the edges. This normally wouldn't bug me, except I need to fill in these areas. Whenever I do so, the area I fill in doesn't do so entirely because of these faded edges. Does anybody know how to make either Photoshop or GIMP stop doing this and fill in the entire area?

Kickstarter - Fos - A hackable, fabric-based Bluetooth LED display

Hey guys, There's a new wearable device on Kickstarter called Fos: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/erogear/fos-a-truly-wearable-bluetooth-led-display-system It's indistinguishable from fabric yet receives real-time video streams so you can draw text, graphics, 3D objects or whatever on your body or wearable gear via your smartphone. This means you can do GPS-guided turn signalling for cycling, display current real-time athletic stats, wear dynamic fashion designs and more. It's affordable and comes with a free SDK to give you 100% control over every pixel, all the time. I promise to only spam you once, I've got one shot at this. =] -Anders

How to make a Graphical Search and still keep the keyword in the title?

When I want to search instructables related to love for example, I put "heart" in the searchbox and a lot of related instructables appear. Good. The problem starts when I want to do a graphical search to actually see the project, but when I want it sorted by "Featured", "Views" or other thing, the search engine searches for the word "heart" in the whole instructable! If it's an instructable about a laser cutter for example, just because the ible' says in a step "You can make coins, hearts, etc etc......" the search engine automatically puts it on top of the list because it's featured.... How stupid is this?!?!?! Can someone help me please? Thanks for your kind responses.

modifying *game & watch* graphics

I'm not sure now if this is even possible after surfing a whole day and haven't found a thing. What I want to do is to somehow change the shapes of electrodes of what the black graphicks of oldschool lcd games are made of. Are there some sort of chemicals whitch can erase old graphics and something to draw the new ones connected to old connections. Or are they cut out some magnetic transparency film. Well, if somebody has a clue where I could find few hints to get started I would be grateful.

Code to draw Graphic on nokia 1202 LCD (STE2007 driver)

I've bought a nokia 1202 LCD recently (very nice one, have their pinout ready to use, micro SD headers and a regulator). I've tried hard to find an library for it, and finally found one that's usable. Now printing text is no longer a problem, but graphic is one big mess. Can anyone help me with it? I've already make the image into an array, but stuck with the "display the logo" part. Apparently, the number did something, but I don't know what. Everytime I tried to change it, the screen output something different. I've included the library (which I downloaded it somewhere on the net) and the code I've modified. Thanks in advance, and sorry for my terrible english.

Request For Admins.

As you may guessed I  have a request. Could you please make Graphical search the default? I think that's what most people don't like about  the new layout. In fact I think the new layout is perfect, but for the fact that the graphical search is not the default.  Thanks for your time. >Axiys Grand Ultimaytum Of Mhyasma<

Set "Graphical Search" as your default search method!

The fact that I have to click "Graphical Search" after each search I do using the instructables search bar has started to annoy me recently. I found a solution to allow me to set the default result as the graphical search instead of the less useful google search page. To use this "hack" (or workaround if you prefer) you will need two things. Firefox and the Redirector extension for firefox. It's really simple to make work. If you haven't got Firefox, download and install it. If you have all you need to do is download the Redirector extension which redirects you from one chosen URL to another. Once installed, restart Firefox then click "Tools" then "Redirector". You will see this box: Click "Add..." then add the following lines before saving. Include Pattern: https://www.instructables.com/pages/search/search.jsp(.*)q=(.*) Redirect To: https://www.instructables.com/tag/?q=$2 Pattern Type: Regular Expression It's as easy as that! Now any time you use a search bar on instructables it will default to the graphical search not the google search. I've been using this a few hours now and all seems great. If you come across any problems or instances in which it doesn't work please post below to let me know. Enjoy!

Graphic Design table on a budget

So after seeing all the drafting table instructables and multitouch displays I think Ive decided to make a hybrid with a desk that has an inlayed box holding the multitouch display that can rise up and out of table at an angle similar to the drafting tables found on here. I would then use a wall mounted monitor to free up space on desk for old school pencil drawing. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas or issues they could think of right off the bat to help me in the brainstorming process. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Happy making!

This "Digitial Graphics" catagory seems to be a typo to me? I looked up in the dictionary, but could not find this words anywhere. There were on three different places, on the Publish page, where we neede to select catagory before submiting our instrucatble, under the Technology->All Channels->Digitial Graphics, and on iOS App. under Explore->Choose a catagory->Choose a Channel. (as shown below)

Is Google custom search here to stay?

Is Google custom search is here to stay? I liked the graphical search better. Google search has way to many ads, no pictures next to the search results, and no way to sort results. Also, I am seeing a problem with member searches where some members show up and some members don't. I can search Kcls (me) and it will come up, but if I search poppi, his one comment comes up, but not his member page. Is there going to be a way to set graphical search that as a default? Maybe make it a pro only feature? Thanks!

Is there anywhere I can get a working transparent LCD screen? Graphical would be nice, but not vital. It doesn't need fancy colors or anything.
