Is a "group" a place to store things I want to keep for future reference? How do I create a group?

Any1 want to join my group This is a group that is only for guns. NO K'NEX GUNS. I'm sorry but there are way too many groups devoted to firearms/air-guns or any type of weaponry that has K'nex weapons. I respect all who make K'nex weapons, but its getting kind of annoying... welcome to the group.THANK YOU KITEMAN FOR EDITING MY POST!!!!https://www.instructables.com/forum/TZJABHGF6S8Z1RQ/https://www.instructables.com/group/gunners/

Have y'all considered more prominent use of the groups and member profiles, and more specifically, developing a function to enable/encourage users to form local DIY groups on their own? it could be as simple as letting people know which members are in their zipcode and including an event utility. Sorry if this already exists, I haven't noticed it.

We really need to connect ! I am looking for other instructable machines to connect with. We, as humans, are the best machines when we connect with others with similar interests. I have particular interests, but I would like to match them with ones that I do not have. We all have ideas, inventions, and other agendas which we can achieve if we pool our efforts together with the right contacts. Lets do this and get off our collective butts! We have the potential but we will never realize our goals and dreams if we work purely on our own.

We just had a site update, with this you can now follow a group! How is this different from joining? well if you want to just get updates from a group without being listed as a member, click the follow button, you'll get the same updates as people who are a part of the group. we also changed how groups are populated, and you'll see that the recent sort now shows you last added to a group. wayyyy cooooollll! We have an extra special surprise for next week, hold onto your pants!

Who makes them? What do they add to the community? When can they be made? Where are the people that make them? Why are they made? How can I make one? Seeing as this is a question about Instructables, what category would you put it in?

Don't worry Kiteman, I know how to make oneI have a question, I am currently making a group, and I want it to be moderated, but I don't want an email alert every time someone tries to join. If I have email alerts off, will I get one, or a PM?

I love this site and there's so many instructables I have in my favorites that it's hard to keep them all organized or even find one when I need it. I'd love to see a way to group or organize them. Possibly create your own groups or be able to tag them and sort by tag names, etc. I was thinking maybe a system similar to youtube. Or maybe this is already implemented and I'm horribly blind! hehe Anyway, thanks for listening :)

Hello, I am trying to get breakdancing ibles on instructable going. It is a great way to get excercise and have fun! I made a group for all those who want to learn breakdancing. https://www.instructables.com/group/breakdancing/ For all those who already know how to do some moves like a bsic flare, post some instructions and add it to the group. Also, once breakdancing gets going on instructables, i need someone that can help me post contests and other things frequently. Thanks! =D

A day in the culinary life of this high school/college student generally includes at least three of the four food groups. In case you missed the FDA's new pyramid, these are Pizza, Crazy Bread, Chinese food, and Dr. Pepper. This is actually an improvement from the three years before that, which had only two food groups: ramen and not-ramen. The second is at the top of the pyramid--used sparingly. How about you? What kind of extended poor diet did you live on back in the day? or maybe even right now...

Being an engineer typically means being fluent in a dozen or more computer aided design packages. Fortunately, once you know one, you can pretty quickly pick up another. To help new users learn and expert users find a few new tricks, Alibre has started a CAD group on Instructables. As free CAD programs go, it's top of the bunch and a great way to start as a new user. However, the CAD group is by no means Alibre-specific; it's a place to share your tips, tricks, and how-tos for any package. Check it out, learn something new, and share your knowledge!

Hi, I'm Tieguy, I've been thinking about creating a group that would bring developers, musicians, programmers, inventors, people who are interested in games and robotics and any forms of geek together to work at common causes. For example, if someone came up with an idea for a game or application but didn't have a certain skill or equipment that it would require they could come to the group and ask for help, or if someone wanted to learn a skill they could ask someone in the group to give them a few pointer. I came up with this because I've got thousands of ideas for application, inventions, games etc. but half the time i don't have the resources or skills to make it a reality. Anyways, I was wondering if I created this group any one would consider joining. If it became popular enough I would go on to creating a website. please post any comments.

Hi guys, Obviously i am a member of instructables that is why i am able to post in the forum. I am Nigerian and i live in Nigeria. The reason i am making this post, is because i want to be sure i am not alone. It would be nice if Instructables can create a nationality database, this way people from the same country can connect, relate and partner for projects. But, until then if you are an active instructor from Nigeria, say Hi. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

I am currently working on a project to rate knex guns, and I need your help. I need 2 people who have a lot off time and knex so you can build at least I new gun per week. We will all build the gun and I will make the collaboration. We will come to an agreement for each category and post the final results. This project should go on for a few months. Please comment.

Instructables has all these Groups and fun rewards for them like the Sponsorship. However, I'm not one for playing Hunt the Interface for very long, and getting to the groups I have joined is not obvious or easy. There is a drop down selector for "You" in the top menu (You Page, Drafts, Inbox, Favorites, Customize...) if you select Favorites, you go to an info page about You, and a left column menu says Groups. this takes you to a page that has a BIG icon cropped from very wide group image - one per group. Other top level pages like Explore, Create Contests have much nicer presentation to find things. Perhaps you could do something similar with the Favorites, or at least cascading menu of items.
