Have you heard?

There's this "make fest " coming very soon to the Henry Ford museum. Those that live near Detroit or in it and love making things may want to visit. They have all kinds of people making things, demos and more. Here's the link for those that are interested.   http://www.thehenryford.org/events/makerFaire.aspx

This girl recently died at my school, You may have heard.

It is Really bad when you feel you have to carry a weapon. This girl and her two younger siblings and father recently died, by her father, and people started a rumor that i was making fun of her and her family after the tragedy, i wasn't, that is just messed up, it is even more messed up how you cannot walk around and feel safe at school, and people want to kick your ass for something you didn't do. I didn't even know the girl or her family and i felt bad. People are mean. You may have heard about it on the news. http://www.q13fox.com/pages/news_story_landing_page/?Memorial-Service-Thursday-For-Slain-Chil=1&blockID;=258526&feedID;=144

You've heard of papercraft, but now tapecraft?!

Today while browsing evilmadscientist.com I found a link to this flicker set by Happy Monkey. It's tapecraft! Basically papercraft, but using tape instead. And most of the stuff is geometric figures instead of like, an Instructables robot. Here's a link to a tutorial for a dodecahedron, which looks really hard to make.I think we've got to get Happy Monkey to join Instructables ;)

Anyone ever heard of Monkey Byte's "Zulu Assault"? Answered

I am trying to find the full version of an old game called "Zulu Assault", by eGames, Monkey Byte, and Arrowhead Interactive, for Windows 98/95. Unfortunately, I can't find it on egames.com, Monkey Byte now makes a bunch of weird educational games, and I can't even find Arrowhead... in short, no results. If anyone knows of a possible place where I could find this, please post it.

Ever heard of Ceramicrete, MgO cement, Magnesium cement

Has anyone ever worked with MgO cement?  Where can buy it in US? MgO replaces the Ca found in portland cement. MgO cement makes a concrete that will incorporate cellulose and other organics into the crystalline structure. absorbs CO2 instead of generating it, is an order of magnitude stronger than portland, does not require wetting, and cures in minutes. So basically, you can take some burlap or old blanket and paint this stuff on, then fill the void with straw and cement and make super strong, light and thin structures. I have looked for it locally but it does not seem to be available to consumers in the US, probably because of the lack of sheep crap which is the typical source of Mg. It is amazing stuff. This is pretty much the only article I could find about the stuff: http://greenhomebuilding.com/articles/ceramicrete.htm

Tang Hooch

I heard today that a common way to make booze in prison is to mix Tang, bread, and sugar (all hoarded from rations), which becomes some kind of sick form of alcoholic beverage. Needless to say "Instructables!" first came to mind. Have you heard of this and/or tried it and/or tasted it? Even more burning of a question: Did you do this as a kid?

I've heard some Calif. camera tickets can be ignored cuz the PD is phishing and doesn't file the tickets with the court

These "tickets" say, on the back, "Do not contact the court about this notice." But the back also says that you MUST fill in the form identiying the driver, and mail it in to the police at an address in Arizona.  What happens if you ignore such a ticket?
