A cordial greeting to the whole community; I would like to ask if there is a standard formula to alert the who is reading to pay attention to the dangers of electric current while you perform a job and at the same time to arise from any liability from damage caused by an incorrect or incomplete understanding of instructions step by step. thank for help

I'm going to be making a 2 part instructable, where the first instructable can be branched off and help people make other instructables, and my second instructable is to make an "attachment" for my first instructable" Would the 2 be counted as 1? Or would the 2nd instructable be considered "incomplete".

We all know the first instructable. But what is the first instructable by a regular member?

I was looking at a collection and i noticed how cool the cover of the instructables looked why not have that for all instructables?

I'm not sure what's going on, but... I submitted an Instructable on 30 June. It was subsequently featured in the technology section. A few hours ago, I noticed a new draft of that Instructable, all in Spanish. The Spanish version of the Instructable was just published a few minutes ago. I neither created the draft nor published the Spanish Instructable. Was the original Instructable translated by an administrator? Is this normal?

So in the last few days I have check out several instructables that have interested me only to find that they were not instructables but just Look here what I built. Instructables have been for years now a place to post how to do things not a repository of personal glory. If a person wishes to do that there are site set up just for that. Please instructables I know it is a big job but can you please start deleting these posts as they are less then helpful.

I have recently noticed that many of the published works are not in fact Instructables. They are simply displays of someones work/ideas,etc. They do not contain any instructions ie. how to make this. How does this fit into the Instructables ethos? I love seeing these pieces and have no problem with them being on show but, how are they classed as instructables and do they "count' in competitions and any counting for awards? I would like to display some of my work, see "what do you like to draw?", but it has never occured to me to simply show them as an "Instructable". This may be covered somewhere but I havn't noticed it.

Hi, is it possible to unpublish this instructable, which was entered in the Pocket Sized Contest? I was looking at my older instructables and realized that I'm not happy with it and there are much better variations of it out there. Thanks!

I have a question about a instructable. I am getting ready to install a outside triton camping hot water heater to my existing modern outhouse instructable. I was wondering if i should just add it to the existing modern out house instructable and if so would it be eligible for a future contest or should i just make a whole new instructable ? Thanks Jim

This week we looked at the top 50 Commenters of 2008 and the top 50 Instructables of 2008. Today we're going to be looking at what times Instructables are published. To break this down, we're looking at the data in three different ways. The first shows, on average, how many Instructables are published for each day of the week in 2008. The second shows the totals for each month of 2008. Finally, we break it down for each of the 52 weeks (minus the last 2 days) of 2008.Check it out.Instructables by day of the weekInstructables by monthInstructables by week

When I go to continue my step-by-step instructable, instructables has this gray rectangle that says: "Updating...", and I can see the things that I did popping up, but everything is there (I think...?), and the little rectangle is not going away... What's going on here???

Greetings, I would like to know what qualifies as an Instructable? What is the definition of an Instructable? I has assumed that an Instructable had to be instructive and not just a picture of something already completed. Regardless of people voicing opposition in the comments that it is not an Instructable, the following post has remained: https://www.instructables.com/id/Nebula-Jewelry/ In response to an email I sent Eric J. Wilhelm replied saying "We have been specifically encouraging authors to share items they have made but did not document the full step-by-step process in our Photo Instructables." I have not seen that. Could you please link where you encourage that? Where you say pictures showing only a completed object qualify as an Instructable? Must an Instructable be intructive or not? If not, then I will be posting a only just pictures of completed objects as Instuctables to be sure special treatment is not being given. Thanks

I enjoyed reading the story of how Instructables got started, written by Eric Wilhelm, but for some reason I can't view it anymore. Can anyone else see it? I can see other Instructables just fine.https://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_Start_a_Business_1/

The system will not allow me to start an instructable. On page https://www.instructables.com/about/submit.jsp, when the Submit New Instructable button is pressed. Firefox comes up with: The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. Anybody able to help?

I just looked at my account and it seems to have someone else's instructable in it, or at least the beginnings of one (LED Chess Set). I have accessed the site from home and from work, but always from PCs that should not have been used by others. Could it be that there is a bug that attributed someone else's instructable to me?

I published a new instructable today (url = https://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Build-A-Spark-Gap-Tesla-Coil-SGTC/), but it fails to appear in the list of recently published instructables and I can't find it when I search for it. How long does the publishing process usually take? If I recall correctly, my previous instructables appeared on the site immediately after I published them.

I was just thinking about the instructables shirts and I started wondering...What about making an instructable hoodie? I sure a lot of people would also agree that it would be a great contest prize during the colder months! Custom Ink (the company that makes the shirts) even has an option for hoodies! I would be willing to help you guys make this hoodie a reality.

I can not publish a video instructable with an embedded youtube video. It keeps sending me to edit when I click on publish. No matter what I try I can not seem to get it to work.

Hey, I recently submitted an instructable, and I can't find it on the site by going to the recently added, or just by searching the keywords. Does anyone know why this is happening? https://www.instructables.com/id/Making-the-shell-for-a-functional-full-size-Apertu/

Ok, so I was looking at my stat chart, viewing each Instructable individually, and I noticed something. On the day it is published, it gets a few views, and then the next day, there is a large spike and then it goes down again in the following days. How do you get your Instructable to have a more consistent view rate? Does it have to have a big "wow" factor?

I'm just about to list off all the sweet new features in a blog post, but right now, try out the new Instructable editor!https://www.instructables.com/id/editYou can also get to it from the "Try the new Editor!" link in the upper right of the standard editor
