LCD loosing backlight.

My backlights fail only when I input a viveo source of any kind. If I power up in RGB with a composite video source pluged in its fine until I switch the source to composite(video1). this is true for any source. they include S-video, RGB, composite, VGA and tuner. its run on 12V, pretty much Identical to a computer monitor except more inputs. thinking maybe the inverter, any other ideas will be helpful???

projecting images onto fabric or membrane

I Have a BIG project that I need help on! I have to fill a pavilion with images and other information on the Moon. I have to have this done for a festival and I have less than a month. I want to project images of the moon either static or moving onto loose hanging fabric around the pavilion. I saw a remarkable Cirque de Soleil traveling venue (see photo below) where they projected images on to translucent fabric which allowed the performers behind the projected images to appear to interact with them. This interaction is not necessary for my use but it was fascinating. (I have no idea how they accomplished this or how much that equipment costs) I will be most grateful for any and all suggestions that can help me with this project! Blessings to you all!

Laptop battery loosing performance?

I jut got my new laptop. My questions is how do i prevent my battery from loosing performance? I know that my battery wont stay at the same performance level for a long time, but i would like to slow the proces down. I take my laptop to school mon-fri. one thing i do is to unplug the power source when the battery is fully charged (otherwise i think it damages the battery), and recharges the battery when power is low. Are there other ways to treat the battery so it doesn't loses performance as fast? What do you do/think?

My cat is shedding, could I rub him on a Van De Graaff generator to remove the loose hair? Answered

I thought this might work because the hair keeps sticking to stuff because of static electricity. If you put a charge in the generator, then rubbed the cat on it, would the hair stick to it? Then when you turned it off would the hair fall off?

Recommend a small and loud speaker Answered

I'm working on a project that needs a purdy dang small speaker, but it still needs to be loud enough to be heard clearly from about 10 feet away.  Now, I know that when you loose size you loose watts and when you loose watts you loose volume, but I was wondering if anybody could recommend a speaker 50-ish millimeters or less in diameter and loud enough to be heard clearly from 10 feet away. If it helps, I'm working with an Arduino with an Adafruit Wave Shield to make a human voice speak English (American-ish). Thanks for the help, Schmidtn

How can I fix un-working headphones?

The problem is in the head-phone bit, not the wire outside. Loose wires/connections inside? Sound comes and goes, so I imagine something somewhere is loose. If I knew what problems to look for, I could attack with solder, yes?

Possible way to help the economy?

So, I was thinking for a few days, and have came up with a few questions, and some possible answers(solutions?) 1) Companies and buisnesses are loosing employees because they can't pay them, or employees are quiting because they aren't payed enough, and therefor, companies are loosing more money, correct? Well, what if people volunteer to work at buissnesses(for this example, we'll use a restaurant) to help out. Obviously, they wold have to be qualified, and still be "hired" In doing so, companies would more help, better work efficiency and hopefully, more buissness(more money) When they get more income, they can pay their volunteers and both the buissness, and the (now paid) vounteers make more income. 2)How are we loosing money? I never really understood how we're loosing money as a nation, and why the government can't make more. Who's to say that we can't print more money, and give it to people, and companies, and even other countries? 3) People can't buy products because of the price. Companies are raising prices, which means more people can't buy products. If companies and buisnesses were to lower prices, people would be able to buy the products, thus companies would make money. Maybe at a slower rate, but eventually companies would have more money to pay employees, and more money to hire and pay more employees. Employment rates would possibly go up, and so would the economy. What are your guys thoughts?
