Yeah well I was bored and didn't like how my OodAst4 was turning out so I just decided to improve my Master Sword from last time. It's a little stronger and looks a little better but it still isn't a good idea to hold it horizontally with the flat sides facing up and down. It's just fine if you hold it vertically or with the blade sides pointing up and down. I still wouldn't swing it around too wildly. Such is the problem with making a three layered sword that has to connect a thinner bottoms section to a larger top section of the blade in a way that makes it somewhat match the "real" thing. I figured out a way I could improve it but I'd have to replace the yellows making the lower blade into snowflakes and that wouldn't look as good. Otherwise the top of the blade is pretty solid so if you were to get rid of the lower blade, this would actually be a pretty decent design. Anywho yeah nothing much to talk about with something that doesn't shoot. If someone else feels adventurous they can try to make this shoot magic lasers by swinging it by I'm not going there...

I received two older working plotters. one is sheet fed and the other is roll fed. These are called Draft Masters 1 and 2. I am wanting to do something with them but not for sure what. I could use some good ideals. Any ideals. Thanks C.E.Sampel This is a pic of one of them.

Hello! I’m currently working on my Masters at Simon Fraser University, in the SIAT department. As part of my graduate research, I’m looking into the structure, content, and presentation of DIY tutorials. To do this, I’ve taken one very well-known DIY tutorial, and converted it into twelve unique formats. I’m hoping to have as many experienced DIY tutorial authors look though the modified tutorials I’ve made; then try imagining using them as formats for presenting projects they’ve made in the past, or are thinking of making in the future; and once that’s done, getting their feedback. If you’re interested in participating, I’ll give you access to the tutorials for a week, so you can look though them and get acquainted with each. At the end of the week, I will send you an online form with a couple of questions relating to your preferences, opinions, and overall thoughts of those tutorials. If you’re interested or have any questions please feel free to ask. Thank you very much! -Matthew

Hello, I’m a civil engineering student and I’ve always had a special interest for electronics, sensors, and arduinos. I’m finishing my degree for which I have to develop a thesis. After some research and based on some articles, I proposed to my hydraulics Professor to monitor the solids transportation (at the bottom of a river) using a hydrophone. This idea consists on measuring the intensity/quantity of sediments (like rocks and muds) passing through a certain spot. These measurements are made using a hydrophone put underneath a seel plate – when the sediments pass beneath this plate they create impulses or frequencies, which will then be analyzed. What I would like to know is the best way to capture these frequencies through the hydrophone – mobile recorder, daw, arduino? I intend to connect the hydrophone to the computer, either through the arduino or through a sound plaque, but I’m afraid these solutions are more prone to the appearance of noise. The frequency range to analyze is between 10Hz and 30kHz. Will it be a good solution to connect the hydrophone to the arduino? Another issue in my mind is the handling of the data gathered – should I use excel, matlab or python? Thanks, Carlos Esteves

It's hard to believe that these costumes are made by dedicated fans and aren't official costumes, but these guys have done it. After what has surely been hundreds of hours of work, they've got the look... and the power. Link

This mash-up of a macho videogame icon and an overly cute pony is so odd you just have to love it. I wouldn't pay over $150 for it on eBay as some guy has, but I do like the pictures. Link

Pancakes are awesome just being their lovely fluffy selves, but others have found that they can also be a great way to express yourself as well. Here on Instructables we've seen them made in cool shapes and printed on, but the site Jim's Pancakes takes it to a whole new level with all sorts of creations Jim makes for his daughter like the crane below. Great stuff. Jim's Pancakes via neatorama

Hello there, I am trying to put together a mesh topology of arduinos. I have never used them interconnected and now I am hoping to be able to put them together in a way that they may power up and communicate when plugged to one another. so I need them to receive both power and data connection from the one previously connected. for that, i think i need each one of them to be able to act as both host and client. am I correct? would anyone know more, and willing to help? I very much appreciate any feedback. Thank you, Karim.

I'm trying to figure this out if it even possible to build a custom controller and use the Console's pinout like the Sega Master System's to be read on the Sega Gens as a Master System Controller and can it be done if I got myself a prototype board and make it myself? here's a broken USB NES Controller I'm gonna turn into a SMS Controller - so is this possible to make my own using tactile buttons for 1 and 2 plus other buttons for the D-pad then hook them up VIA the SEGA Master System's Pinout to read to the Sega Gens?

There were 5 rabbits but 2 died and 2 we haven't found the reason we know there are five is because we saw them the day before ,but didn't save them because we thought that the mother would come back Then the next day we saved them when we noticed only one was living. something sorta lucky happened... when we were on our vacation to Pennsylvania the rabbits cage tipped over and the rabbit got out and hid some where in our house. but my brother that stayed home so some one was there to look for him. He couldn't find him after like 2 hrs of looking he so he told my dog to find him and sure enough she sniffed him out in like 1 - 5 minutes. He ended up right behind the computer I am sitting at.... as I fix my grammar and spelling errors. he is also as big as a soft ball now :P that thing grows so dang fast.

I want to build a circuit that has several led groups. Each group has an on/off switch. I want there to be a master control switch that overrides the state of all other switches; i.e. when master control is on, circuit behaves normally, when off, all outputs are 0. How do I build this circuit? Are there any parts that can simplify the process? I thought of using a multiplexer but it only outputs one value and I'm not sure how multiple output multiplexers work. Thanks for the help!

I am preparing a master class to present to a group of Technical Artists# at work. Everyone in the group has previously programmed in C/C++/MEL/MAXScript/Python. The purpose of the class is to collectively bring everyone's skill levels and technical understanding on variety of Computer Data Science topics to a common level.I would like some advice as this first time I've delivered such a class. I am planning on structuring the course to be two 2 hour sessions, with 30 minute blocks of content interspersed with Q&A;, code-review, and individual assistance. I know this a multi-part question, so don't feel you need to be able answer everything, just contribute what you can. Any links to articles, SO questions, or reflection on personal learning experiences is greatly appreciated. Questions/Advice/Links to Further Reading- What CS topics should I attempt to cover?- Examples of other Python training courses? - What do you wish someone taught you when you first started programming?- Python programming best-practices- Tips for delivering technical content to creative/artist audience? Using Dive Into Python as a textbook and referencing the MIT Open Courseware Introduction to Computer Science on Academic Earth. I have also been given a 2 minute overview on adult training (Malcolm Knowles), i.e., working the students through the cycle of: identify the problem, determine the cause, researching a solution, and applying.

Hi everyone, I am an Italian student graduating at Bocconi University, writing a final thesis about Open Source Hardware opportunities for users’ innovation - with a special focus on Arduino-based projects. Consequently, I am collecting the experiences of users who developed AND commercialized their projects based on Open Source Hardware (Arduino and/or similar). Therefore, if you want to learn more about my research, and you wish to collaborate with me for a short interview by email or by phone/Skype, please do not hesitate to contact me at remo.a [at] studbocconi.it Of course, at the end of my research - if you will find it interesting - I will be more than welcome to send the outcome to you, given that some results may help you to develop your business. I really hope to find some of you available to collaborate in my academic research. Thanks, Remo

I am looking to design a coffee mug that reminds the user via a speaker attached to the door in some way, that they are leaving the house without their coffee. The project will need a sensor at the door that can recognize a sensor built into the mug, I'm thinking Thermos style yet able to fit in a normal sized cup holder, that can be machine washed without damaging the inside components. (The design can have an attachable bottom to hold the hardware and battery source, so the main part is machine washable.) And an additional sensor is needed on the users car keys to recognize the user is leaving the house. when both the mug sensor and the key sensor pass at the same time a "have a nice day _______user name_____" voice recording plays when only the key sensor goes past the door receiver a " ____User name____ is forgetting their coffee" voice recording plays My questions are for what type of sensors will I need to purchase in order to create this project? and how would I set up the code to recognize the combination of sensors vs. the single sensors by passing the door sensor? Thank you for your help Indestructable community

I have a 01' Lexus Is300 master key that stopped working when i replaced the battery in the remote door key,how do i reset it??
With all the technologies avaialbe today does anyone know of an all encompassing program that can break (deconstruct) songs into layers? As in break back down into the layers used to make the master recordings. So yu can create your own mash ups? Say i want the guitar riff from AC/DC and trumpet "layer" from Dizzy Gillespie. Not trying to steal and sell it, just mix and share for personal. Thank you, Yellowshades

I want to know how good/bad you think tensor skateboard trucks are. Here are a few key points I want to know: How heavy are they, I cant find a specific weight any where? (in pounds or grams) Do they snap in two? Are they work 40 dollars? my current truck weights 13/16ths of a pound so like a little more 3/4ths of a pound I'm only like 112 lbs so I doubt I could ever snap any trucks but still.

I am planning to cast jewellery by generally sand casting with wax models, though I would like to make more permanent silicone mold backups if something happens to the original wax master. My plan would be to pour or press silicone onto the wax master and get it out after the silicone has set. The only easy way I know of doing this is to cut a line all around the silicone mold to retrieve the wax master. I know other people seem to do this. I can't see how you could do this though without accidentally scratching the wax master inside?

I need to secure an ammo can that has a hasp and a Master Lock. The first time I replaced the lock because of lost keys, I had an additional key made the second time and I ended up letting someone who lost their key take it to get another duplicate made and he lost it too. What I want is the ability to just tell someone who has lost the key to go buy a blank and therefore won't have to give up my own key. That is the purpose of my question.

HI, the idea is to control a power outlet when the OS is booting. And even more important, when the OS shuts down. the outlet should turn off before the PC goes in shutdown.A master/slave socket (which i have) only switches off when the PC goes into OFF modes which results in a big bang on my Active Speaker setup. (behringer B2031A with B2092A).So, in short. i need a circuit thats being controlled ON after a driver has been loaded during BOOT.and that cicuit needs to power down when the Driver is being offloaded during shutdown.AC being controlled by a solid state relayThank you for anyone who can helpbest regardsmarco

I need to put in a new braking system in a Datsun 280ZX that I am converting to electric. Since there is no vacuum from an engine, I was considering using some sort of vacuum pump but I came upon using a manual master cylinder instead, which is good because it does not require extra power besides my leg, but since my vehicle initially came with power brakes, I am not sure if it will be compatible. I will most likely have to replace all the brake lines, because they are fairly old and there is a good chance that they've been damaged. So this gives me the chance to replace them with suitable lines for either type of master cylinder. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Is it possible to fix a USB 2.0 that has become loose in it's case. It attaches to a Cooler Master Laptop cooler. But since my cat hit it with his head it is now loose in its socket and will not power my Cooler Master. It only has the 1 USB that plugs into my Laptop and runs from the battery or power cord of the Laptop or if the Laptop is plugged into a power outlet. I bought a new and different Cooler for my Laptop but I find I don't think it cools as well as my old Cooler Master. I have tried Cooler Master company itself and they were of no help. Can someone here help me with this problem. I will try and explain how it is connected to the Cooler Master itself. The USB 2.0 has a long cord that splits into two different wires. Like a Y set up. One leg of the Y goes to 1 fan and the other Y goes to the second fan. So both fans are connected to the Y with the USB 2.0 at the end of the Y that plugs into my USB port on my Laptop. So with out the USB the Cooler Master will not work. I hope I explained it all right. Can someone PLEASE help me fix this. I do not like the new fan. I want my Cooler Master back. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thank You.............Glenda D
