BARKING NEIGHBOURS DOG

Dog over the road has been barking since it could bark, 2 1/2 yrs. I have talked to the owner and they have a collar to help control barking but very rarely use it these days and just let the dog bark. Dog barks at the postman on motorbike, anyone walking down street, other dogs, when I go out to the front garden or the lettebox. I use to always go over and talk to dog, pat her and give her meat bones, but these days she just annoys me with her continual barking The local Shire ranger has rang the owner about the dog only to be abused on the phone. Can anyone give some suggestions on what to do please. Margaret

Job - Silence your neighbour

I want someone who can actually create the setup described here - lifehacker.com/5852903/silence-noisy-neighbors-by-transmitting-signals-through-their-own-speakers.  My neighbour is very noisy and they don't decrease it no matter what. If someone can build the setup or come with their plan to achieve the goal, I can pay whatever you demand.  My neighbour has 3 loudspeakers and 2 big-box speakers. He uses an amplifier with a CD in it. He also uses few mics sometimes for his band to sing. they sometime sing for 24 straight hours.  Please help and advice.

Soundproof Sleeping Closure

Hello fellow instructables :) Right I need some help and advice on a design brief to help fix my problem. Problem - I live in a ground floor flat and there is 1 flat above me, 2 scum bags occupy it, a couple of 22 year olds and they have obviously never been taught consideration for others and they bang and thrash around all through the early hours of the morning. When they bang on their bare wooden floor it sounds like a heavy metal dumbbell coming through my ceiling and it wakes me abruptly and its ruining my life :( I've complained to the council the past 18 months but there not interested. They have not put any carpet down in their flat in the last 18 months and it looks like they have no intention of doing so (they can afford fags n booze tho), plus they have a baby due any day now, great.. so now there making their problems, my problem. Solution - The only thing I can think of is making a soundproof sleeping closure, a large box like a 4 poster bed but all sides solid made out of a layer of MDF then insulation then more mdf, but I have some questions before I start. How would I get adequate air in and out ? Would this even stop the banging on my ceiling waking me up ? or would it still penetrate the box ? How would I control the temperature, would it be too hot in there ? Something like the image below but more solid with a door. If anyone has any experience with this or input or any good ideas I'd be ever so grateful. Cheers in advance. Matt

Stop neighbours dog barking - How?

Can someone give me instructions how to build a device for stopping dogs from barking. The sort that has sensors that detect barking and give of an annoying to dogs, innaudible to humans noise, so that the dog will learn that barking triggers an unpleasant sound and hopefully stop. Our neighbours dog is driving us nuts and we dont want to have to complain about them.

How to quiet my neighbour's loud music?

My next door neighbour has a bad, annoying and rude behavior playing his music loud while I'm sleeping fairly early in the morning and in the evening, around 8 or 9, when I'm trying to relax. I need a device or a circuit to disrupt the sound momentarily or that will deliver a low but irritating high frequency squeal to transmit via his stereo speakers without hurting him or his equipment.

The best way to destroy a treehouse?

Ok, basically, these guys claimed to have part-built our treehouse. We are 100% certain that they didn't, our neighbour helpfully pointed a cctv camera at it, and has been there since it's initial frame construction. Now, they won't let us in our tree house... they've padlocked it... It's on private land, our neighbours who likes us (me and mates, he doesn't mind us there...) Our parents have spoken to theirs, and they said to our parents that they don't give a sh** about our treeshack. It is between our three yards, mine (counts as me + friends), neighbour (owner), gits who took it over... The only way to end this, as we have thought, is to end it. We want to get it gone quickly, so as not to attract attention while we're there. We have a garage full of airsoft pyrotechnics and fireworks. Our neighbour doesn't mind us there with pyro's either... Our plan: Pop smoke all around perimiter, especially near camera so as to frame them.... fill a cardboard box with fireforks (roman candles and rockets) and fill with cotton wool... Light 1 via fuse leaning out of box. It's a 10 sec fuse, so we can jump from ladder and run... BOOM. Turn up 3 mins later to hopefully see the 'owners' and be like "what the hell did you do??" There are MANY problems with this... 1) tree damage 2)shrapnel 3)police / fire service attention 4)parents 0_o 5)them killing us (not literally...) WE WANT TO KNOW: Is this theasable? should we just saw it in half? How can we get rid of it?? Thanks for anything, and don't call us terrorists :p

Creating a "dome" of sound using speaker phase?

Ok so, I want to install some kickass speakers into my pergola, but I don't want to annoy my neighbours with unwanted bass at 3 in the morning. Is it possible to place out of phase subs hidden around the pergola (a fair distance away) to cancel out the bass frequencies and create a sort of "dome" of sound?

I wish to make charcloth on my single burner propane stove using a tin can on my patio. My question is....will the gases be of a dense smoky nature so that everyone is calling 911? sealing cuts ends of timber

Have a section of a neighbour's oak tree that was taken down last year (fall).  Am storing it in our garage for 3 years before attempting to make a block out of it for a side table in the house.  Heard that the cut ends need to be sealed so the wood doesn't check and crack.  Is this correct and, if so, what kind of wax/sealant and where would I find this? Is it possible to cancel out sound using hi-fi speakers? Answered

I know that noise cancelling headphones exit but is it possible to scale that up and have the out-of-phase noise played through speakers?  If so, and the microphones were against the wall of the offending neighbour and the speakers were to be aimed at that wall, would the noise be noticeably reduced? Thank you.

Biology question?

My neighbour cut down a tree last year, down to the ground. This year it sprouted shoots again from the cut edge. My question is by what mechanism did the remains of the tree "know" 1. It had been cut off and should produce new shoots if it wanted to survive, 2. When to start producing these shoots. i realise it is triggered by day length and temperature rising BUT how does the tree measure these things?

I Was On Fi'yah!

I was messing around with some alchol (that is me) After my sister stopped recording, I accidently sprayed my hand with my fireball. It was cool, for like two seconds my hand was wrapped in evil blue flames. I was wondering if I poured alchol on my hand and lit it would I burn myself? I thought it would be cool if I could come running out the shed with my hands on fire and scare the frat boy neighbours.

"...bigger than its belly can"

Of all the engines I am surprised not to have seen made here, the valveless pulse-jet is it. Sure, they're inefficient and relatively low-powered (compared to a "normal" turbine-based jet), but they are astoundingly simple. At heart, it's a swollen pipe with a fuel supply and no consideration for the neighbours. These suckers are loud.So maybe you want to ?Or just look at the way this engine is mounted, imagine riding it, and shuddering in anticipatory panic.

How to prevent gasoline fumes from seeping into my house/garage from a neightbours garage?

Hi all, Back again with another issue regarding the money pit. I live in a townhouse and my neighbours have two motorcycles in their garage. They leak gas and I am guessing pretty badly because I cam smell it in my home. When their garage hasn't been opened in awhile it's fine, but when it opens, I am supposing the pressure builds up and BLAMO It comes through the vents in the house or around the vents in the house. My garage even smells strong of gasoline and I have nothing in it that uses gas. Is there anything I can do? Besides to obvious and talk to the neighbours, and the condo corp, two things I have already done. It wasn't bad in the summer because they were in and out and the windows were open so there was less pressure, however, when I arrived home last night it smelled like a flippin gas station in there! I am waiting to hear from the condo corp, trying to be proactive because clearly this issue isn't one they are tending to with immediacy

Dear Inscrutables team! As a member of this forum since 2008, I am desperately waiting for my country to be listed in the valid list of participant countries mentioned on all the contest page.  I want to share my DIYs on this forum and also to enter this sensor contest, but my country PAKISTAN is not yet listed here, rather my neighbour country INDIA is already in the list since last year upon request from Indian members. So, I am again requesting on this forum to please add my country in the list, so many of this lovely DIY forum members form PAKISTAN may participate in those contests. Waiting for your reply with favourable response. Thank you all.

Is it already snowing in your town?

So I was wondering if it had already snowed in your town and if so how much? I live in Belgium, Limburg, Bilzen and our whole country is getting huge snowfall like I have only seen once in my short 20 year life. At home we have about 10 cm of snow lying and more is still falling out of the sky... Heathrow in the UK has apperantly shut down and many UK people are stuck in our airports (Zaventem, etc) now and problems with transportation are rising in my country and neighbouring ones. So how's the situation with you guys? Enclosed a picture of my backyard at around 2 in the afternoon.

Cyber War with a Shovel?

A 75 year old woman has cut Armenia off from the internet. Whilst scavenging for copper in neighbouring Georgia, Hayastan Shakarian accidentally severed the fibre-optic cable connecting all three of Armenia's internet wholesale providers, and the whole country was cut off for almost 12 hours until after midnight on the night of 28th March. The pensioner has been arrested, and could face three years in prison, but has been released pending the completion of the investigation and the result of the prosecution. Armenian websites identified Shakarian as Armenian herself, not Georgian, and questioned the credibility of an old lady causing the blackout, claiming similar damage in Georgia has caused problems for Armenia in the past. I want to be able to fall asleep to the sound of the waterfall ~75' away

I want to be able to set up a wireless microphone that will be able to withstand the elements in a northern Maine climate (wind, snow, freezing rain etc) that will capture the sound of a waterfall close to our cottage and transmit the sound with fairly good fidelity to a bedside receiver.  Something that won't eat batteries, or maybe even solar powered (if simple enough) I'm no electronics whiz (clearly) but surely this is do-able?  The power lines come in from the other side of the cottage, so are more than 100' away.  Nearest neighbours are more than a half-mile so the only possible interference I could see would be from our own cordless telephones.  Any takers?

Who would a god be without believers?

You could also ask "What would a god be without believers?" (because not all gods are human-like). Lots off people all over the world believe in one or more gods. But what if (and I say if because it isn't very likely) all human beings on this planet would stop believing in there god (or gods)? What or who would a god than be? Would a god than be a funny drawing on a wall or just some guy in a book? Perhaps the new neighbours, the mailman or the birds in your garden were ones your god, until  you stopped believing.  Think, philosophies and give your opinion about this question! I'm curious who or what a god would be without believers according to you.

Unpublished 'ibles.

So after having been off for a long time and finally having pinpointed the neighbours wifi router, sans cantenna (it helped signal but because there's cars passing by made it cut out far easier) I've been on and digging around, immediately I wrote and published a couple of 'ibles I already had made, now I'm rooting around in my unpublished 'ibles... I have 39 of them, many are confusing and worrying, in various stages of writing and the answers to a lot of the burning questions, subjects are wildly varied and questionable at best, there's one that's even ready to publish, however I'm not sure about it, nothing wrong it's just I'll have to listen to a plethora of comments that will annoy me in extremis, points to anyone who guesses it... Anyway... how about you lot? Many unpublished 'ibles, are many ever likely to be publishable?

Oops! I think I broke Instructables!

Oops - I slightly broke the website. Just a little bit.The thread "...bigger than its belly can" has too many full stops in the title, which confuses computers, apparently.Anyhoo...I was just pointing out that, of all the engines you'd expect to see here, nobody has made a pulse jet engine. Yes, I made a jam jar version, but nobody has made a real one.I don't know why, they're very easy (basically a big pipe with a fuel supply and no consideration for the neighbours).Maybe you'd just like to buy one off ebay, or maybe you'd like to look at the pictures of the jet mounted on a scooter, imagine what the ride would be like, and tremble slightly in anticipatory panic...I got a message from the seller:I have a video of it doing approx 70mph down Croft start/finish straight, the moped has now gone as the plastic wheels did not last long !!.

How Can I Earn Money?

I am young so I cannot do real jobs. I do not live in a comunity area so I can't do jobs for my neighbours nor can I sell things door to door for this reason. My parents do not think that doing chores around the house are worth money, I also cannot wash cars as  my parents know another person that does it.  I am not strong enough to do work outside. I do not trust any of the online surveys as they do not seem likely to give you money. I have nothing to sell or make to sell online or at a market/fair. I am too young to do volunteer work by myself. I cannot sell baked goods as you need a food handling certificate which are really hard to get hold of. I would love to work at a cafe and do some help there but I am too young to even do that. Please help me and thank you for taking your time to read and answer this.

Pardon?? (Update: some have been done)

A brief exchange between myself and Whatsisface utterly confused Keith-Kid, the poor bairn. That reminded me that, as well as the language confusion between English and American (we walk on pavements, you drive on them), there is a deeper, older division.I am from Cumberland. It's "Cumbria" now, but it's old - many of the town names are Icelandic and Viking in origin. Parts of the county were so insular that neighbouring valleys had different languages. The town of my birth is Workington - the name translates as "The town of the people of Worca" - the town, and the land around it, were a small tribal state, ruled by King Worca. So, I thought I'd lay down a little challenge. What do you think these traditional Cumbrian dialect words mean?Google if you must, but you're probably wasting your time...Thissen - yourself, youSneckShilliesHag wormSegsScruntTuppingUppies and downies - Traditional precursor to football. Subcontrabass Guitar - to build or not to build?

Hey all you musicians, and especially guitar players! I am currently planning the next version of my Prism Laser Guitar (vote for me if you like it!) and I need some opinions. The next version will hopefully sound very much like a real guitar, not a synthesizer. It will also be capable of playing chords among other tricks the first version couldn't do. However, due to physical and monetary restraints, it will have to be a 4-string bass guitar of some sort. That's fine with me - I love bass!So here's the idea: Unhindered by the physical limitations of a vibrating string, I am free to tune the bass as low as I want. I'm thinking of giving it a C#, F#, B, E tuning, with a bottom note of 17.5Hz. That's lower than pretty much any bass you can get, opening up a whole playground of super bass notes to drive neighbours up the wall. ;)Is that something people would be interested in? Or should I stick to a standard bass tuning range?

Bullet proof bra!

A US woman had a lucky escape when a burglar's bullet bounced off the metal underwire in her bra.Police in the city of Detroit said one of three intruders fired a shot when the woman looked out of her window and saw them raiding the house next door. The bullet smashed the window and hit her, but instead of causing serious injury - or worse - it was deflected off the wiring in her bra.The unnamed 57-year-old woman was taken to hospital and released the same day."It did slow the bullet down," said a police spokesman. "She sustained injuries but they're not life-threatening."Teenage gangThe woman, who lives on the west side of Detroit, had seen the youths breaking into the house next door while her neighbour was away.Police believe one of the gang saw her looking out of the window and fired at her.The suspects then drove away after the shooting.Local police Sgt Eren Stephens Bell told the Detroit News: "We need to get some bulletproof vests made from that. Motion detection sprinkler

So my neighbours cat uses my garden - my vegetable patches to be exact - as a toilet. I know there are many many people out there just like me who are sick of it. I happen to like cats, used to have one myself, but i dont like them crapping in my garden. I've tried everything. Nothing works. But they dont like water and having soaked the cat at 4am with the hose a month ago i got a few weeks of bliss being left alone, until just last night when it decided to try again. I can't wait up for it all the time. So I want to make a motion detection sprinkler. Cheap as I can. I could buy one ready made like the Contech ScareCrow but it's £50. I figure it can't be that hard, I have several hozelock sprinklers in the garage that I dont use. If I could buy a cheap infrared motion detector and some kind of actuator? Maybe I could rig it up to the hose and sprinkler, but not sure exactly how to do this. Hoping someone here can suggest how to proceed?

My laptop won't connect to my Home Wifi?

Hello, My laptop won't connect to my home wifi. The problem just started few weeks ago, before it was automatically connecting to it with no problem. I have a broadband router, wifi enabled with TP Link (TL-WR340G) Wifi router. My network won't even show up in the available networks list. However, if I reboot the machines or turn on or off my router or broadband router, it somethings catches it and it works fine. I don't know what thing make it works (it automatically connects). Sometimes, it just catches the signal (but don't connect automatically as I have set my home network on auto connect), but when I connect it manually, it don't get connected, instead it shows troubleshooting. And troubleshooting always lead  me to "reset your modem by turning it off for 10 seconds", and nothing happens when i do this. Few things I should mention: 1. My laptop connects perfectly with other wireless networks. After this problem,  I mostly use my neighbour's wifi, that works perfectly everything. 2. My wifi router works perfectly with my iphone, and other wifi mobile devices. The problem is only with my laptop. Please guide me, whats wrong and how to solve it.

Vancouver Mini Maker Faire 2012

The Vancouver Make Faire 2012 was this past weekend. Those that could make it out were rewarded with seeing a 2-person bike spider, drawing robots, a whole village of 3D printers, a fire-burping machine controlled by a Fisher Price keyboard, and of course the Instructables booth where we were giving away stickers, patches and pins to all our fans.  Instructables members did not dissappoint, I met =D, Kev_MacD and fastermiles who came by the booth and talked about their passions. Also at the Faire: We were booth-neighbours with diyified, who showcased her DIY Toys I had ChrysN and nick2334 help me staff the Instructables booth and greet so many makers (thanks guys!) alejandroerickson had a "zest for mathematics" booth with a tensegrity workshop (it was packed) avid bike-hacker snotty shared a few of his custom rides (one of them had a sweet sound setup) I learned just how difficult it is to tie Chinese knots at arghc's booth aggrav8d had his $100 mural drawing robot in full effect (and it was awesome) Thanks to everyone who came out and stopped by our booth, it was a lot of fun meeting everyone. Below are a few pictures I took of the event, please feel free to share your own pictures of the Vancouver Maker Faire in the comments below.

Why I'm not around much for now etc.

Now things have taken a big turn for the something, maybe worse maybe better, anyway I got put out of my house, the fight has been resolved and I'll bore you with details some other time because I'm writing on an iPhone at the moment, my brothers or touch even... Where I'm living at the moment has no Internet and the Internet in my tech is also broken. I'm not sure when ill be back online for now the neighbours internet is my main hope but it's not a good one. The place I'm living is the house from my ible, how to deck a house out for nought. I'm still witting smoking and still working away at tech though. Stuffs a bit difficult at the moment but I will eventually have some good ibles from all the stuff I'm up to. I'll try to get on as much as i can when I can but I can still be contacted via bebo and email My emails killerjackalope at hotmail.co.uk and my bebos adamkelly401 I have those things on my mobile so it helps a bit. Yeah, oddly it's all hitthd fan right after my whole lives getting better topic... If you have different usernames for email or bebo then do tell me your ibles name so I know.

Homemade Electric furnace current question

Good day viewers! I recently found out about the wonders of electric furnaces, cheap to run and no smoke. I went looking around for some designs, there are some nice i'bles about it and I got very exited since my neighbours already start nagging when I strike a match, an electric furnace would be the perfect solution. I decided to go with kanthal wire, its relatively cheap at a few bucks per meter, and it can handle temperatures up to  1300C. I plan to melt alluminium and maybe some brass so I should be fine with that. now to the questions part, I have an ATX PSU with a 12V 16A output (DC), I was wondering how many (centi)meters or inches for the americans under us, it could power (if I can power it it would eventually go up to full temp right?) I am a complete nitwit at these Ohms formulas and electric furnaces, at the moment I am abstaining from sleep to build this furnace and I am sure that others are as well. I hope some nice fellow diyers can help me with it. This could be a dumb questions, maybe I need a wall outlet (230V in my place) or maybe I need some rocket science. I don't know, do you? kind regards and a thank in advance from 2 young exploramenters that want to melt some metal without ruining our lungs. excuse us for spelling mistakes, this written by non-native speakers and with shaking hands,...

The collaboration experiment

For my, or should I say our next Instructable I want to do a little experiment. The goal is to make a colaborated Instructable with the following rules in place: We each do a single step in the Instructable (excluding the materials step). Materials needed for each single step cost less then € 10 / $ 10. Tools needed for each step should be in most peoples shed (or their neighbours shed), you get the point: no big cnc'ing, lasercutting, wood milling, ...  Quality of step description, photo-work, ... should be feature worthy.  You get 1 week for each step, allowing for some trial and error, time for personal life, ... If technical constraints require more time, exceptions are possible after clear communication.  The concept is to do both the build, and collaborate further on the previous step, back and forth. No communication about the end goal. The project can go in all directions. Iterations continue until we both think that the end point is reached. At that point the Ible will be finished, an introduction and conclusions written and published.   I'm open for suggestions on improving the rules of the collaboration experiment, but I'm very keen on trying out this kind of experiment. I am only able to do one experiment at a time in this point in time. So if multiple people are interested, I suggest we make multiple couples and see where we go from there.  Who is willing to commit to this kind of experiment across time-zones, boundaries, crafts and expertises? It will be a challenge to get out of your comfort zone, explore new techniques and who knows what else? On spot left to join the experiment, please fill in this registration form. 5 of us already started the discussion on the rules and timing. The general concept is to start November 1th and finish by December 20th, in time for winter holidays.

Low pressure pneumatic grid (1 to 4 psi) to use small wind, small hydro and small solar power?

I have used low pressure air and a simple "airlift pump"  to cycle water around a "pallet  Garden" since August.  This meant that very little water was being used but the plants were growing really well.   the air comes from an aquarium bubble pump and it is about 1 psi.  The pallet garden is almost 20 ft from the little bubble pump.   Recently I decided to do something similar in my greenhouse, but it is 120 ft from the little pump and there is no electrical socket close.  So reluctantly I bought another 120 ft of 1/4 inch tubing to send the air to the greenhouse.  I didn't expect it to work at that distance.  But it is working great. Why not use air instead of electricity to move the energy from "toy" windmills in gardens? Or from low head small water power?  I bet anyone could make a compressor to make 1 PSI.  It is orders of magnitude easier than making a direct water pump or converting the energy to electrical and then back again in a pump.  An airlift pump is just a vertical tube in the water.    How simple is that!   and it is darn cheap too.  You can use this for pumping water (Highest I ever got was 18 ft with 1 psi) or just bubbling air into a fishpond or to actually move the water in small water features.   Or of course in the pallet garden or in aquaponics.  And even thought this energy is useful at that scale it can never ever be made worthwhile to share it electrically.  But maybe your grid could extend to your neighbours garden too?  You could have an interconnector if you or they have a bit of excess pneumatic power!

Any ideas for useful stuff for a veggie garden that would also help deter trespassers? Ideally for along the boundary.

We have a lovely big patch of land that we plan to turn into a veggie patch. Unfortunately, we've suffered with trespassing & vandalism with much of the work we've done so far. We are lucky enough to have inherited a polytunnel frame (a large hooped structure to be covered with plastic for use as a commercial greenhouse) but our last attempt to get a cover on it ended 10 days later when a knife was taken to it. We also get stones thrown over as well as actual trespassing. We'd like to get cracking again this year (warm weather is best for working with the plastic cover) & are concentrating on getting an earth bank & fence installed beforehand, to minimise any issues. We'll be planting a hedge along the top of the bank, but that will take a while to grow. This work will also involve doing some terracing, so the ground level at the boundary will be about 1-1.5m/3-5ft higher than the main area. It is also on the northern (sunny) edge, and the whole boundary is about 25m/45ft long. We are located out on the west coast of Wales, so have a temperate climate & moderate wind, but can't construct anything that might upset the officials as we're in a National Park. Saying that, the boundary can only be seen from either our land or from our vandals', sorry, neighbours' land. We're not thinking of bear traps or anything, just wondering if anybody has any suggestions for things that would be useful & practical that might also cause an added obstruction. The instructable on the Double-Decker Drum Composter inspired me to think about other possible options, though I'm not sure whether composters would suit the sunny location. Please note that this will be a veggie patch, so nothing that might cause issues with growing and (more importantly) eating our own produce. And no, nothing can be proved but would only cause more hassle even if it could, so we just have to find other, less confrontational, ways to work around these things :) All (sensible) ideas are very welcome!

A thing about usb cable lengths!

Well apparently according to many websites I've visted, claim that the longest cable you can use for a usb device is just a little over 15 feet. That said, I'm one for completely disregarding warnings. According to the text on one website: Q: How long of a cable can I use to connect my USB device? A: In practice, the USB specification limits the cable length between Full-speed USB devices to 5 meters (A little under 16 feet, 5 inches). For a Low-Speed device, the limit is 3 meters (9 feet, 10 inches). So my dilemma is that I have an a$$hole neighbour that is stealing things from me and I want to catch him. Being cheap, I'm going to use my webcam instead of spending $50 on a low resolution color camera that only outputs composite (although that would allow me to make cables easier and I DO have a capture card on my pc) but this is besides the point. So I found a telephone cable (as it has 4 wires just like USB) and I figure it's got to be AT LEAST 20 feet long, maybe 30, which is long enough for what I need. I thought because It's all over the internet how apparently the limit is 15 feet, that is would just NOT work at all. 10 minutes later I had spliced the telephone wire between the USB connector and the webcam, wiring black to black, red to red, green to green, and yellow to white (usb side). Upon plugging it into my desktop usb hub, sure enough, my computer recognized it, and the video came through just fine. So I post this forum-topic to SHOW that it is infact possible to go OVER the so-called usb limit. I got the idea originally from a video I watched last night where a guy had a webcam mounted to the middle of his ceiling for a project he was working on, and it appeared that he had spliced in a longer wire than the webcam came with, and strung it across the ceiling, and then the wall. I DO have a question and I AGAIN request the help of all you helpful instructables members! My webcam as-is can see IR (infared) light, as I've tested this with a remote control and it can see the white light coming out of it. So the question is, how hard would it be to build an array of IR LED's to light up my yard, not even nessesarily pointing away from the source of the webcam, but say, an array of led's above the door of my shed shining down so if someone does attempt to enter my shed, I will be able to clearly record them. Long post I know, but this is VERY important to me that this works and I'm hoping I didn't waste my time constructing this, I've had a few things stolen from me recently and it's really pissing me off. For instance, one of my bicycles was stolen, RIGHT FROM MY FRONT DOORSTEP! It has wayyyy more sentimental value to me than actual cash value and I'm literally ready to choke the living sh)t out of someone!
