Is there a way to stay permanently logged in? I browse, look away for 10 mins and then I have to log back in again. Anyway to change the setting? iPad btw

I see that over the last 8 years there have been over 50 people emailing about getting logged out. But they get logged out during one session. My question is why am i getting logged out daily. All my other sites (except financial...) let me stay logged in for days at a time. So that means my cookies are working. Do you require us to relog in every 24 hours? atilla

I have my netbook set to automaticaly log me into the site when I go online. Conker-X wants to check his account, but when I hit "logout", it doesn't. My PC, though, does log out when I try. Both machines are running FireFox 10.0.2 under XP Home edition.

I want toget out. There are no options for unsubscribe available. I do not understand why. I was looking for something about animation instruction and got caught up wih this I am 68 and donot have time nor inclination to become involved with this stuff. Please get me out. I read a notice there somewhere where someone else wanted out and couldn't. If another comment is valid thn the company is dishonest. That is that they want the site to increase and that seems to be why nobody is able to unsubscribe. I hope he as wrong. Could someone somewhere get me unregistered from "Instructables." I have not used this site in quite some time now, but I do have an account. Today as I was viewing the site, I have had to log in over 7 times while reading a single instructable on 4 pages. I keep getting automatically logged out. In one instance of logging back in, I got an error saying that my account was not found?

I can't utilize the site properly at all. Every time I click on a link to a project, it logs me out completely. I can't add to a collection, or favorite things, or anything. I'm working strictly from a desktop computer, and am a new user (just set up today). ETA: I was trying to use the site with Google Chrome and it wasn't working. I've now switched to Mozilla Firefox and am able to use the site.

Well, I replied to a comment, then i clicked "you". all of a sudden, I find myself logged in to someone else's account. he has not posted any comments, even when i got in. i logged out, then logged in as radioactive to report this bug EDIT-it turns out that when i replied to the comment, i was logged in under the member. Oompa Loompa, if you read this, i do not have a second account and this actually has happened before

Over roughly the last 24-36 hours, the site has started logging me out if if follow links to projects. Not every time, but I am currently having to log in three or four times per session on the site. For instance, if I am logged in and browsing the recent page in desktop view, and I click on a thumbnail, I get taken to the project, but arrive on the mobile site, and not logged in. When I switch back to desktop view, I am still not logged in. The same happens if I follow a link to a project from a "subscription update" email. It's not just "arriving on the site and having to log in", if I am already on the site and logged in, then follow a link from an email, the tabs I already have open get logged out as well. This is using an Android tablet with up-to-date browser.

I am very angry and kind of depressed now.....I have fallen out with a friend, and i am pissed off.( this is at dinnertime - on the school playground BTW)It all started when i called him ( stuart) something ( daddy's little wh*re) as a joke. I always tease him and he just puches me , and then we carry on as normal. But i realised i went too far then, ( it was un-intentional; like a spur of the moment how i always tease him). I aploigised twice then, but then he chased me - he is very fast and this time he had a very angry look on his face! I quickly ran in a cicle and then ran straight outa the school gates for dinner- to avoid beatings. When i returned to school on the same day, I tried to avoid him incase i get hit, but i couldn't since my best friend hangs out with him, and i wanted to talk to him. So when walked up i imediatly got chased off ( but i was able to say sorry twice again). So next break i walked up again, But i got pushed, then kicked very hard on my arse by stuart. Then i got chased again and got puched twice. I decide to avoid him and ,my other friend totally for the remaining lessons.(TODAY), I normally walk with him too school and back form school. So when morning came, i got ready and left the house. I spotted him ( stuart) behind me and decided to carry on walking - too see what he would do..... Once he caught up he walked off! ahead leaving me behind! ( I thought the guy would off cooled down by now). Once i caught up with him i said:" hello. Are you still in a mood with me?"Stuart: " fuck off , i don't wanna walk with you, so get lost"Me: " why man? please, i said sorry lots of times...come on!"stuart : " Fuck off "I just realised he was angry and then just carried on walking to school away from him. I avoided him for most of the day, until maths finished:I was walking with another friend on the playground, then i saw stuart with his 2 friends ( one of them is also my friend) walking the opposit direction towards me.:When we were pararllel he got out his hand and pushed me really hard!me: " what the fuck did you do that for? I didnt do nothin' to you! "He smirked, and then walked off saying nothing.I am really angry and depressed now. I didnt go back after dinnertime today. Cause I am that down.. :-(Ive said sorry countless of times and ment it but he wouldn't listen. He just gets ready to hit me.I can't even hang out with my other friends because half of my friends ( he hangs out with). So im worried if i go up to them he might start a fight wich i don't wanna do. He is the tallest in year 9 twice the size of me, and pretty big. ( i know it would be a un fair fight ida get beaten). And now i havn't got anyone to walk to school with , which sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do?!?!?Personally i think he's acting childish. Ive apoligised lots and he won't listen. Thank you for reading this extreamally long post!!! Please Help with sensible advice.

I use FireFox (8.1.0). When I enter the instructables site, the login links are in the upper right corner. When I click the login (not Facebook, the regular one) the entire set of login links disappear, but the login dialog does not appear. To get the login to appear, I click the favorites icon to get it to show me the logon dialog. Is it Firefox, or you? BlueGull

We have all seen this topic many, many times. No matter how many people we explain this too, more come back the next day with the same problem. Perhaps it would be best to add an obvious message following publishing explaining that instructables will not show up straight away. All other ideas welcome, please discuss.

So for Halloween I want to make a pop out/ fly out creature. I want it to sit tucked away in the corner then shoot out two to five feet towards unsuspecting guests, to give the illusion of something flying out at you. I was thinking of doing the scissor (http://www.frightprops.com/pneumatics/kits/animatronic-kits/horizontal-scissor-mech.html?SID=d3f43bbaffe0a34f01e47e75eade4e39) but need to figure out how I'm going to be able to make it repeat over and over without having to reset it constantly. If you have any ideas please email me.

I'm not sure whether or not this works or not, but pictured is an old electronic Organ I found out on the curb during Halloween, I proceeded to do what any 'ables maker would do, grab this 70lb monster and ran like a madman. I'm tempted to plug it in in the basement and see if it still functions, but I'm scared to.

After being on instructables I have notice that the rating system is a five out of five system without a way of getting any indication to why the vote count is high or low, On sites like deviant art if you want to rate a drawing the artist has to turn on critiques in which you have to give a 100 word paragraph with a rating on why it's bad or good, so on a site that glorifies Tom F**KING Preston we should have a better system for ratings. Having a requirement to write well thought out critique or reason why the voted low on something will not only discourage those who go around down voting everything because there jealous or because they want to make there chances of winning a contest higher is silly, it will also help to improve the quality of the instructables by getting proper feed back on what to fix in the instructable. Have the comment and ratting together with a little fair or not fair button with the comment.

Am I missing something? Unusually, Instructables appears to be the only website working on the internet. Any other website I try to connect to except ibles just times out on me. BBC, Google (including groups and gmail), Notcot, Birdguides, Hotmail, XKCD, QuestionableContent... They all tell me that Firefox can't find the server. I've tried reloads, restarts. What next? Edit: as I've been typing this, ibles has been slow and won't upload a screenshot to go with this post. Edit: Trying with my laptop, I can't even get on ibles. (PC using Windows XP & Firefox, netbook using Linux and Firefox) Edit: multiple clearings of the cache and deletion of the entire browser history, plus a period of total shut-down of all associated hardware seems to have fixed the problem.

I was looking at guns on Wikipedia and saw a pic of a revolver with a swing out cylinder. I went straight to work and made the swing out cylinder, but I couldn't figure out how to make the rest of the gun and keep the cylinder from moving all over the place. I don't have a digital camera, but I can tell you how I made it. 1. Take a blue rod 2. Attach a dark grey connector on 1 end of the rod 3. Put 1 grey cylinder spacer on the rod, followed by 2 blue ring spacers 4. Put the blue rod through the hole of another dark grey connector 5. Put 2 more blue ring spacers on, followed by 1 more grey cylinder spacer and attach 1 more dark grey connector to the other end of the blue rod 6. Take 1 white rod and snap on 2 white snowflake connectors, then snap the rod into the dark grey connector in the middle of the blue rod (the dark grey connector should be in the middle of the 2 white snowflake connectors) 7. Take another white rod and attach a dark grey connector on 1 end of it, then slide the white rod through the hole of 1 of the dark grey connectors on the blue rod, then slide on another grey cylinder spacer and attach 1 yellow connector on top of the white rod 8. Do #7, but on the other side of the blue rod 9. For the handle, I took 3 green connectors and snapped them on to 1 white rod, then put 3 small green rods on the bottom of each green connector (Look below to find a little bit better explanation) 10. Take 3 yellow connectors and attach them to a white rod, then connect all 3 to the 3 green rods mentioned in #9 11. Take 3 more green connectors and attach them to a white rod and add 3 small green rods to the top of the 3 green connectors and attach them to the 3 yellow connectors in #10 BETTER EXPLANATION 1. A green connector has 4 places for 4 rods (I will call them teeth) 2. From left to right, it goes empty tooth, white rod, empty tooth, small green rod 3. A yellow connector has 5 teeth for 5 rods 4. From left to right, it goes small green rod (from the green connectors mentioned above), white rod, empty tooth, empty tooth, small green rod 5. Same as #2, but it goes small green rod (from the yellow connectors mentioned above), white rod, empty tooth, empty tooth If anyone knows what I'm talking about and makes these pieces & has a digital camera, please take pics and show me so ppl can see what I'm talking about. Also, if anyone finds out how to make the rest of the gun, please tell me and show me how you made it (but please don't take credit for my design of the cylinder & handle. If you mod/have to mod any of these 2 parts to make the rest of the gun, don't forget to credit me for the original design of the 2 parts). Also, if anyone does make the gun, please post an instructable for it. I would love to see the gun that I almost got to make. So please tell me where to go to get the instructable I you decide to post it. Also, the gun doesn't have to shoot anything. Thanks to everyone that contributes.

Here in Sydney Australia we are having our 6 monthly "throw out week". This is a kerbside pickup of hard rubbish. They often include electronics and the like. Tonight I plan on going out to "collect" some useful items. Just picked this little item up on a walk home, in case with a new set of batteries inside. Last clean up I found a brand new digital camera working in box with all accessories... Can anyone think of something to make with it? I plan on posting more objects tonight.

I keep getting logged out. I usually use my android to access instructables, but I am currently having trouble when following links. If I follow a link within the site, say, from the recent list, or in a forum topic, I get taken to the mobile version of the page (my tablet is set to always request desktop view), and logged out. If I back-page, it *looks* like I am logged in (my avatar is in the corner), but as soon as I try and do something on the page, such as making a comment, I get asked for my log-in details again. This doesn't happen when I follow links "built in" to the page (from the top tabs, or those at the bottom of the page), or from links to forum topics, just from links to instructables that are in the body of the page. (Samsung Android tablet, default browser, all up to date.)

Because it has signed me out. Or perhaps more accurately, just doesn't register that I am signed in. Hi Everybody! The Instructable I wish to comment on is this; https://www.instructables.com/id/Athena-The-Global-Car-Tracking-System/ I have tried logging in on that page, attempting to post comment and use the prompt to sign in. Signing in elsewhere on the site and navigating to the 'ible in question, when the "You" (signed in) at the top right, turns to "Log In" (Not Signed In, Duh :/) Any ideas on what could be up? Not much more I can do except try again a little later and hope it's a transient bug. Anyhow, there you go. A bug. Swatter please! :)

Whenever I get into a group call on Discord or something, I just get the nagging feeling that I don't belong in some way. Like, I may feel that people aren't acknowledging my presence, or that they don't really care to talk towards me. Am I the only one who keeps feeling something like this, in these situations? And, what can I do about it?

Does anyone think there could be a way to make a Harry Potter wand, or even a regular wand that shoots glitter? I think it would be really cool to cast a spell on someone, and then they unknowingly get pelted - err, showered with glitter! LOL. But yeah, so if anyone has any ideas or know how or made one before, I would really like to know! Thanks!(:

Anyone know of a way to charge an iPhone 5S battery OUT of the phone? About a month ago, my phone battery ran all the way down, and died. I had a hard time getting it to recognize the cable was plugged in (but with some wiggling, it did recognized the cable, and I let it charge enough to turn on) Thinking my cable was bad, I ran up to the store real quick and bought a new cable. By the time I got home, the phone had died again. At this point, it wouldn't recognized either the old or new cable. SO, thinking it was a bad dock connector, I ordered a new one online, and replaced the one inside the phone. Yet STILL, I can not get it to recognize any cable being plugged in to, or in itunes. Now, at this point, (about a month an half later) the battery is so drained, there's not even enough juice in the battery for the dead battery symbol to appear. Although the battery was replaced in June, I've though about buying a new battery and seeing if that helps any. Unfortunately, money is extremely tight, and I really cant afford to buy a new battery, ESPECIALLY if it doesn't end up fixing the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!
