Wanted to download my updated greenhouse instructable PDF (new pics with finished decorative roof trims added ca 5 weeks ago), but got the older version. How to get a PDF of the newest version?

Downloaded the PDF for "How to make a backpack by rlciavar" using the "Download Custom PDF" button with the default Custom Download settings. The PDF did not include the images in each of the steps. Using desktop PC with Windows 7 and Firefox 47.0.1. Url for the project: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-a-backpack/?ALLSTEPS

I think it's great that we're able to download a PDF version of our 'Ibles, but it seems to only work with recently-published ones. Is it possible to convert old Instructables to PDFs also? Thanks for looking into this.

I made several edits to an Instructable yesterday and the PDF file doesn't show any of those edits. I would guess that the PDF file is cached, but that cache should be cleared after edits are made so that premium users can download a PDF that reflects the current version.

Each time I try to download a PDF on my iPad all it does is refresh the page. When I try on my MacBook, every time I click on the PDF icon, it requests me to sign in again and then redirects to the first step in instructions. The Print PDF link on both my iPad and MacBook are unresponsive. All the other links work. Help?

I can't seem to get a PDF generated of an ible I am working on, but not published yet. Is this possible? I've tried both custom and default PDF options. Reason: I'd like to share with local group, but still add to the ible before publishing for the Instructables community. Should I publish as a private ible, then switch to a public ible at a later date? (Is that possible and will that allow me to download the PDF?)

I'm trying to download the pdf from https://www.instructables.com/id/Multi-personality-Fortune-teller/ but for some reason the link will either do the following: refuse to come up (shows a blank white screen), show a 404 error code, or just flicker on the request to download the pdf screen.

The standard page size of the pdf's is always Letter format, maybe it's a good idea to have an option for a different format when you choose to customize your pdf, I live in Europe and my paper size i use is A4 for example but I can imagine that somewhere else we have other paper sizes.

When I click on Download PDF at https://www.instructables.com/id/Spin-Art-Machine-Kit (an Instructable I created), it downloads a version of the Instructable with older photos and content. I thought perhaps there was a delay in updating the PDF but I waited a day and it still is happening. As an example, the third page of the PDF (Step 6) shows alligator clips attached to a slide switch. But in the published/online version of the Instructable, Step 6 shows a slide switch with wire leads.

I have been away for sometime and noticed that the layout has greatly altered. My question is where did the download PDF button get to? I have searched several instructables and have not been able to locate it on any posting.

I am running a fresh installation of Windows XP SP3 on my laptop. I have always been able to download PDFs. Recently, attempting to download PDFs resulted in a blue screen, necessitating a reboot. Reported the problem on the forum and was told to use a different browser. Was using IE8, switched to Firefox. Still have the problem, This a nice site as far as the concept, but very buggy.

The link in the .pdf version of my instructable to a .zip file appears broken. The link in the instructable itself is fine. How are the links .pdf version of instructables maintained and how can I get them updated? My instructable is https://www.instructables.com/id/MSP430-Based-Chronulator-using-Launchpad-chip/ I am not a PRO member, so the only .pdf instructables I can see are ones that I authored. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can the links embedded in the text be reproduced in the PDF's? Even a chart at the end would be nice-- like: (pretend this is formatted correctly)TEXT | LINKElec-Trak | http://www.elec-trak.com/farm supply | http://www.agrisupply.com/default.asp and so on.Thanks,James

I cannot download any PDFs after I have downloaded the first one. When I select additional PDF downloads I get a blank (grey) page which stays. My download "advisor" does not show any download activity - after the first DL. Also, Editor's picks and other choices just produce lines of code.

I've gotten multiple messages from users who cannot download the .pdf of one of my Instructables. Could there be an issue with the site that could cause this to happen? Instructable link below. https://www.instructables.com/id/Minecraft-Pickaxe-5-and-45-minutes/

The customization feature is not working for PDF of a project. The last three projects I got PDF copies of did not delete the parts I didn't want such as comments. This is a very recent problem. I never had this problem until recently. I have limited storage space, so I always uncheck the index, comments and use the smaller images, but even though I unchecked this items they always come out on copy now.

I tried multiple methods of downloading the PDF of this article: https://www.instructables.com/id/Simple-PC-oscilliscope/ It didn't work here. I got some: DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd looking thing that isn't a PDF when I tried with means other than my web browser. This is the link to the defective PDF download page: https://www.instructables.com/id/Simple-PC-oscilliscope/?download=pdf Someone else in their comment from 2011 seems to have had some difficulties too. Feel free to get in contact with me when you have resolved this issue as I would like to download that file myself here. Thank you.

To make the Download page more streamlined, would it be possible to speed the process up and remove the page that appears before the actual PDF document page come up. As to be able to direct Download would be advantageous. I seem to always have to click twice before the document appears on my desktop. Great site though!! Thank you!! i.e. https://www.instructables.com/id/Make-Citrus-Powder/?download=pdf

I never use this website and I don't build things. But a friend sent me a link to a standing desk that I want to have built: https://www.instructables.com/id/Electric-Height-Adjustable-Desk/ I'd like to buy the PDF instructions for that desk but I don't want to subscribe for three months or pay for a year. I just want to buy that one PDF and then I'll probably never use this site again because I don't build things. Is there a way to purchase only one PDF instructions without subscribing to a Pro Membership?

I just upgraded to a 2-year Pro Membership. In Safari, when I click Download PDF on somebody's Instructable, it first looks like it's going to download, but nothing really happens! All I get is a blank dark gray window on the new tab that appears. What's going on? I just paid 40 bucks and can't download anything.

I am a member, I am signed in. When I select Download PDF for plans, I get a window that asks me if I want to join Instructables. I've already joined and I am in the website. If I hit sign in, it takes me to the home page, I do a search on the project, get to the project, select download pdf plans, and again the window pops up asking me if I want to join Instructables. I can never get to the plan that I want to download. How do you download a pdf from this website?

I have a Win 7 system with AMD processor. I have tried two times to download a PDF and it crashes my system. First time in years this has happened for me. So what to do? I am not interested to try for 3 times. Is there a way to download without openning your window? Thanks, great site, JS

I signed up for the PRO account on DEC 28th 09 and received a reciept thru my pay-pal. However every time I try to download a pdf file for an instructable, it says you have to have a PRO account. This is after I have logged in. Any ideas?

Yo Membership people: Cannot access PDF documents. Click on PDF icon loops you back to login window, reinsert info loops all over again. Can log into profile. Profile showed I still a PRO member. Pdf access worked until a few months ago when I changed banks and an automatic message sent to instructables caused an account cancelation. I sent a message explaining this and received a reply that I still had access until next year. I really want the pdf for the Spooky Telsa Spirit Radio so I spent the money for another PRO Membership. It now says I am a member until 2012! So why cannot I access pdf files? Also if I am a PRO Memeber how can I get rid of the ads? If pdf's are becoming a problem, will you make the instructables available via DVD disks or books like Volume 1? By the way how do I get a reply? The forum stuff stinks. This is all frustrating since you have a darn good product! Thanks Tommyt

If you try to get a PDF download of this instructable: https://www.instructables.com/id/Laser-Glow-Writer-Introduction/ You get "We're sorry we can't find that one" in a red banner above the header. This is the same for the "Cutting-board-wallte.pdf" ( whatever that is) or customized one. If try the save as method you get a download failed with no file message. Using a iMac on 10.10.5

The problem I face is that the "download" link at the top of my instructables does not download the most recent version of my instructable. In fact, it appears to download the original version, as seen when it was first published, even after many revisions have been made. I use instructables to host instruction manuals for my kit business. When the instruction manual needs revising, I update the instructable with the necessary information. This is a huge problem, because many customers want to print the instructions from PDF, and because the PDF is not the most recent version of the instructable, so all of these customers have problems assembling my kit. As an example, look at the instructable here: https://www.instructables.com/id/USB-Typewriter/ The "download pdf" link at the top of the page clearly downloads a file with text and pictures totally unlike those in the instructable. Please fix this problem!

I hope I can explain this properly. Last week I crashed my laptop hard enough that I had to have it striped and reformatted. Needless to say I lost a lot of stuff. Seems they managed to save a lot of pictures and some data. All my programs I have to reload. My problem is that now when I want a pdf version of a instructable it sorta comes in as a pdf. But I cannot save it or print it. My menu heading for these items are gone. I have reloaded the Adobe Reader 10 into my laptop but something is wrong with it on your site. I heavily use this feature and truly miss it. I enclosed a picture of what it looks like now. Did I do something wrong here? Can someone help me with this please C

Hello, I'm super super new and extremely out of my element unless I have my nose in a book or I'm puttering in the kitchen so I'm struggling a bit here. I just bought a pro membership because I really wanted to download the PDF of a certain project...specifically this one: https://www.instructables.com/id/Chocolate-Extract/ I don't even seen an option to download, am I just blind? Sorry for the bother, as I said I'm rather out of my element and I'm very anxious, so just asking this was a struggle lol.

The following e-books show a blank page when you try to open the pdf version of the document: 1) DIY Lamps, page 2 2) Easy DIY Plushies for Geeks, page 3 3) Adhesive Projects, page 4 4) Duct Tape Bags, page 5 5) DIY Wedding, page 5 6) Gifts from the Kitchen, page 7 Another e-book's pdf version did not have a blank screen. Instead, there were a couple of lines of nonsense text and "Access Denied". The name of this e-book is: Care for Newborns, p7 Please repair these broken links. I'm sure there are other folks out there as frustrated as me. Thank you, Teresa "Tess" Weaver email@example.com

I have just published my first Instructable (https://www.instructables.com/id/Gorillapod-cradle-for-a-mobile-device-Pocket-PC-/) and I was trying to download a PDF copy to keep as a record. So I right-clicked the PDF link and selected "Saved Linked Content As..." in Opera 10.53. The save file dialog opened, but then my computer froze and I couldn't move my mouse. Every minute or so it executed my next command, so I pressed Escape and it closed the dialog about thirty seconds later. Then I tried opening the file in Opera, and a similar thing happened. Then, I opened Internet Explorer 8 (crumbs, must have been bad) and the same thing happened, except that I left it running for about five minutes and it eventually got there. I noticed that whenever the computer froze, the CPU usage went to about 99%. So it's not a browser thing. I had left the PDF options on defaults. Anybody else experiencing this problem?
