What new games are good

Does or has anyone here played sports? Which sport did you play? Were you pro? I'm currently trying out for my football team at school, so if I make it, my Instructables usage will decrease sharply. Thank goodness it ends in November. Well, now it's your turn.

Hi! I'm looking for something my little boy could climb up and over. I'm not sure what to call it so I don't know what to search for, lol. He's 15 months old and trying to climb up on chairs and tables and everything. I just want to make/buy him something safe to play with. Thanks!

Hi all, I'd love help with ideas in building an indoor jungle gym for my kids. You can see one version here, but over $700! http://www.limikids.com/ Ideally, I'd like it have a ladder, trapeze, and rings. Not sure how to make it stable--- floor to ceiling? Possible to easily assemble/ disassemble? Thanks, Michael

Hey K’nexers, Some of you may have noticed various Weekly Challenges that have been occurring over the last few months. These quick-fire challenges are aimed at challenging the community to complete a task based around a specific theme, like headphones or nachos, now it's your turn... In previous contests the K'nex community has been ignored...nay, abandoned! It's time to show everyone how you guys roll! I will be hosting 2 K’nex Challenges: K’nex Guns K’nex Projects ( no rubber bands/guns) Ball machines / roller coasters / cranes / cars / armour, etc. No rubber bands or k'nex guns in any of the pictures or even mentioned in the description. Seriously. You can enter both contests, but absolutely no guns allowed in the 'K'nex Projects' challenge. Challenge yourself to meet either of these 2 contest criteria. The projects that are going to win the top prizes are ones that are original, creative and have amazing pictures. Since making awesome K'nex projects takes time each of these Weekly Play Challenge will be 2 weeks, this forum posting is to give you guys a heads-up. Both contests start next week. I want the K'nex crew to smash the previous Weekly Challenges, break 100+ projects and be the first to win top prize for these quick-fire challenges. Please wait until the contest launches to post your entries. K'nex challenges start next week, good luck! Both Challenges are now LIVE! K'nex Challenge is now over. Good luck!

Have had an ad come up when I get on the site suggesting I download the new app for my mobile device. I can't download it as my tablet mfgr (Nabi2) doesn't have an agreement with Google Play. Any chance you might offer it through Amazon also? I am not experienced enough with Android system to try work arounds. Thanks...

Hi guys!It looks like there has been a new update on the site recently, and now we have to click on the gifs to see them. What do you think about this? Do you click on them? Or do you prefer the look at the pictures?I am wondering because I usually use a lot of gifs (sometimes 1 or more for each step), and maybe it is time to change this. So there are 3 possibilities:continue to load the gifs with the images (and click on them)replace the gifs with more images, and more detailsembed the gifs in the text, this way they automatically play once the page is open. What do you prefer?

Hi guys. I have access to a 48" inkjet printer, sheets of vinyl, and I can order or buy (within reason) anything else. A friend came up to me with an unusual request: she often plays trading card games, and has a design for a custom mat. I personally don't own a mat, but could get my hands on one of hers to see the material setup. AFAIK, and based off Google searches, there is a thin foam base (1/16" to 1/8"), followed by a print of the design on vinyl (24x14). My goal is to keep costs low. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and an Instructable would be even better, if you have the know-how. Someone has a thread of images of mats, if it would help: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-143462-page-5.html

To start, if a movie is ever made about my life, I would like to have George Clooney as my first choice, Gerard Butler as second choice and Pierce Brosnan third. I share a striking resemblance to these actors (tongue in cheek). My theme song would be Forever Man by Eric Clapton.

I am about to start my last year at school (1 September), with made me think of what am I going to do in a year. Before, I was sure that I want to do Physics in university, but somehow I realised that (probably) REAL Physics should have little connection with what I enjoy. I love tinkering with stuff, reading books and learning things from them (I learned all the STR I know by myself), making something funny (Tesla coils, ellipse compasses... You know the sort), learning how it all works, understanding things by finding and solving problems (my current topic is wet hydrodynamics), thinking about paradoxes, and solving puzzles. It all seems like a game I love to play alone and with my friends, and which we occasionally teach to some younger kids. My friends, who have just finished undergraduate year 1 can't tell me anything constructive, so can someone tell me what science is? I know the topic is a bit daft, but it's quite important for me. I will certainly ask the same thing everywhere and not once, but still...

I saw this in the local paper and thought people would want to go. We work down the street from Yerba Buena so maybe we should go as well! TechnoCRAFT traces the current trend in design away from fixed objects toward open "design platforms" that invite people to participate in the creative process. You can get tickets here and they will be having an opening night party Friday July 9th at 8pm. One of the featured artists is Cyclecide, a local bicycle crew that creates fun rides and bike projects. The exhibition runs until October 3rd. For more info head to www.YBCA.org

Hi, I have an exhibition at the arts centre that I work at and one element of it incorporates music. Currently we have a CD player on loop, and this is frustrating some of the staff who have to listen to it all day.... so, the scenario I want is for member of general public to walk into gallery, when they get to the appropriate section they push a button which will play the CD, it would play the track then stop. If they (or another person) wanted to start from the top again, they either wait til the end or press the button again. (Or another option could be a motion sensor which, 'plays' the CD.... obviously it can't start from the top each time it detects motion! ) any thoughts ladies and gents?

From the Knex section of the site, many members are dissapointed at the loss of the 'rating' filter. Instructable's rating system makes the very best stand out, due to not being based on percentage, and mow they are being shrouded in darkness. Could we please have the rating filter back?

I posted this in the pro section as well under the "welcome" forum, not really sure where it belongs. . . Hey guys, I just wanted to introduce myself to the community here, and shoot some ideas off of you. I have been a lurker going on a year now for instructables, and I decided to join when my friend submitted a project. He did the www.instructables.com/id/Pallet-Playhouse/ Pallet Playhouse where he built a playhouse out of used pallet wood. If you haven't seen if, I would suggest a quick look he did a good job on it! For me, I think I have decided on what I want to do, and I wanted some suggestions from you guys in terms of what I could do for my project. I want to build a system to connect ski boots to skis and recharge the heaters on the boots via solar power on your skis. Now, I am not sure of the surface area of solar cells that I would need, the power the boots usually run off of, if it is better to just buy an existing system, or if I should put in some kapton heaters and a control system, and do the board design myself. I have seen even etching for board designs here, so I could theoretically do this very cheap in terms of monetary cost if I wanted to go that route. What I am looking for is going through a good cost breakdown analysis, what my budget in time and money is, and what is doable. I am pretty handy, and will mess with anything I can get my hands on, and I have a fairly high learning IQ so I would be able to replicate most of the instructables here just to give you an idea at what I could do. So here is what my ideas are initially. Taking an existing boot and battery system, disconnecting the existing battery pack, putting on my own battery system, and using the solar power to top off/charge the batteries. . .or using the solar power to power the batteries. I still need to see what the power requirement is for existing boots, and what the maximum power output per ski would be if I had solar cells on the ski, what to do with the excess power, if there is any, how to handle the overflow power, waterproofing the system etc, but I think it is doable. I am unemployed, and I have a business that I am planning, but I am awaiting loan approval from the bank, so I have a few weeks of free time soon. I was thinking of some cool projects to do, came to the sight and thought of my own. I figured this would be a great project to learn some stuff about ee, since I am a me by trade. Anyhow, I love the site, wanted to introduce myself, and if you have any ideas of suggestions, please let me know. Cheers, Michael

Since a few days ago many Team Fortress 2 Players have been experiencing a frustrating anomaly. Team Fortress 2 (and on occasion other source games) DO NOT WORK! This is very frustrating, opinions have been voiced that it is due to extreme server overload due to all the F2P people coming in by the thousands. This is not only frustrating but also unfair, ask one of my very good friends who actually pre-ordered Team Fortress 2, was a dedicated Gamer and Beta Tester but has now been demoted so much he can't even boot up the game anymore, while several F2P "gamers" had no trouble at all booting the game up. Does anyone else see a problem with this?

So I recently took my 3 year old to the children's museum in Indianapolis, which was great, but what really stuck out for him was the water table/play area. I think he would have been happy chasing boats around that table all day. But it got me to thinking that i could build one of these in the backyard (scaled down, of course!). I've been looking for plans to accomplish this, but everything I find is basically an elevated tub or plastic tote. The project I'm envisioning would be on an incline so the boats could follow a set path. Initially, I was thinking it would be shaped like a ring, so he could climb under it to be in the middle, but I think a rectangle would be simpler (and walking around the table would be good exercise for him!) The path would (on a gentle incline) circle around the perimeter of the rectangle, so boats would eventually end up near the starting place. He could then pick up the boats and set them on another circuit. Probably would need a pump to pull water from the end back up to the starting point, which would provide a current to help the boats along. Any ideas or suggestions that could help this project along? Potential issues? One thing I'm not sure about is how to handle the water depth on the incline. I forsee the water rushing down the incline to quickly, leaving just a trickle to attempt to carry the boats along, leaving the boats "beached." Maybe there should be no incline at all and rely on the pump to provide the current? I'll attach some images of the super fancy versions we've encountered in museums, just as example of my inspiration.

It's KneXFAN200 here with the third k'nex ball machine contest. There will be no prize unless you count being put on a collection of best ball machines with instructions, favorite on every instructable, vote on every instructables, and a subscription!. There will be a Grand winner, a First place winner, second pace winner, and a runner up. So lets get to the rules. First of all, it needs to be a ball machine that is new. I'll make an exception though, you could do a ball machine that was made from Jan. 2017, and up. What you will do is make the ball machine first of all and post it on instructables. Then, you put the ball machine link in the comments or just by emailing me on instructables. After that, I will put a picture of it on here and once there's 20 entries or by the beginning January, the winners will be announced and will be put in the collection (in order) that I talked about at the beginning. One more thing, I am not entering this contest. Enteries: https://www.instructables.com/id/Weird-Knex-Ball-Machine-1-Tiny-Box/ From random_builder Thanks and good luck, KneXFAN200
