Welt Pocket

Would anyone be served by a welt pocket instructable? I've made these a bunch, and understand how complicated they can be to understand. But I'm not sure if there's an audience for it. Thoughts? Thanks!

Pocket BASIC??????

Help! I am way into BASIC. Lately, I have been wanting to make a little DIY pocket computer with a basic gray scale screen and nav buttons that can run simple  BASIC programs uploaded from my computer. I looked around Google to find somewhere to start, and found out that no one has ever attempted building such a thing before. One site suggested that I should look at mobile motherboards by TI and Atmel. However, when I arrived at the websites, I found a bunch of complex, expensive boards that have unnecessary fetures such as WiFi and touch. I need some help on what hardware configuration to use (aka mobile motherboard, chip set). Help!

A bed with pockets

So I was thinking about making a shred bed or some other shred furniture. The office has a ton (probably literally) of finely shredded paper that would make excellent stuffing. I was thinking, hey, I've got some old pants I could slice up and make a patchwork shred thing out of. Then I got to thinking, wouldn't it be cool to have a bed with pockets in the sides? You could stick your cell phone in there and charge it and it would be close enough to be loud enough to wake you up but not so easily accessible as to defeat the purpose of an alarm. It would look darn silly made out of pants, though.

Pocket Siren updated!

I've just updated my popular Pocket Siren instructable with improved cutting files. The changes I have made are: Turbine blades widened at the base - massive amounts of use revealed a weakness in the base of the first version. Turbines engraved in the laser - rather than sanding them down, I placed a circle of engraving over the blades (watch your laser settings, make sure it's set to engrave). The axle is now also acrylic, not wooden, but you don't have to buy any acrylic rod! Lanyard/key-chain loop added to the central layer.

Say for instance, a Casio G-Shock into a really cool and functional pocket watch guaranteed to impress. An easy process would be a plus, in addition to parts available at the hardware store.

Change Counts

A word to the wise: keep your pocket change! I have a normal sized red plastic cup that I put all my spare change in. It was pretty full...but not to the brim, so I decided to count it tonight. Over $50 in quarters - 65 all together! What a pleasant surprise for me. I'll have to get some paper rolls from the bank so I can cash it in!

My knowledge is whole.

All gaps in my knowledge have been filled. I am in possession of all life's necessary information. The specific gravity of culm is 0.75. Steel wire with a diameter of 92mm has a safe working load of 930kN To temper steel to be suitable for twist drill, heat it until it turns a pale straw-yellow. An American fluid ounce holds 8 drams, but a British fluid ounce only holds 7.6861 drams In other words, this morning's post brought my copy of the 2010 edition of Glover's Pocket Reference. Actually, I don't know everything.  I know it floats in water, but I don't know what "culm" actually is...

Pocket-Sized Winners Announced

Instructables is happy to announce the prizewinners from Pocket-Sized Speed Contest! This has been a doozy of a speed contest with over 150 entries, many of them amazing. You blew us away with all of the cool things you can make that you can also fit in your pocket. A great job all around. There were a couple of interesting twists and turns here. For one, user PocketSized ran away with the votes. Apparently the name is a fitting one.The other thing that you might find a little odd is that the Instructable with the third highest pageviews is the winner. The #1 entry was disqualified since Brita filters aren't so pocket-sized. I tried it out and it wasn't comfortable and my pants got all soggy. It wasn't pretty. Don't worry, we'll still send IAMSatisfied something cool since it was quite good. The #2 pageviews would've been the winner except that it was also chosen as the random winner. This bumps the sweet engagement ring Instructable to the top spot. Thanks to everyone who entered. It was a lot of fun and this is one that we'll be doing again in the future. Now, on with the winners! Top Votes and PageviewsThe authors of these three Instructables will each receive an Instructables robot t-shirt and a Utili-Key Top Votes Pageviews Pocket Graffiti Pen by PocketSized Steampunk Finger Stylus by robbtoberfest Making a custom Platinum Diamond engagement ring by chrisparry Runners-Up The authors of these Instructables will each receive an Instructables robot t-shirt. Pocket sized collapsible eating utensils Pocket Plant Super Awesome Altoids MINI Flashlight Random Prize - For being lucky enough to have its name pulled out of Tetranitrate's pocket, the author of this Instructable will receive an Instructables robot t-shirt and a Utili-Key.and the random winner is...this entry from someone who also rocked the pageviews.

heavier duty pocket amplifier

I was in need of a pocket sized powered amplifier, so I made this:https://www.instructables.com/id/Simple-Powered-Pocket-Amplifier/However, I need to run larger speakers off of it, 6.5" woofers, and I need to get decent sound out of it. When I ran more power through my pocket amp (6v. battery pack rather than 3v.) I fried the circuit and had to make a new one. Any suggestions for a pocket sized, powered amplifier that can power said speakers? the amp and battery pack must be concealable in a suit.

powered pocket door/sliding door using automobile power window motor?

Hi, looking to make something along the lines of this youtube video, using a car power window motor, but would like to be able to use 2 switches or pushbuttons, one for each side of the door. It's not for our house or anything so it doesn't need to look pretty and I probably won't even be using an actual door, but a piece of plywood instead. Any ideas on how to make it happen? Thanks for the help. I'm sure there are better ways, but I'm looking to do it cheap.

Casio pocket Tv: Tv-1900B info/suggestions on uses?

I just received a casio pocket television model: Tv -1900b, produced somewhere in the late 80-mid 90's(cannot find year) as a gift from my sister, purchased for 2.99 from goodwill, she bought it because I like vintage electronics, and thought it was useable as she was not aware of the difference between dtv and analog, and took the label heading that it received working channels for true, from my research it appears to be functioning but is receiving no signal due to the dtv transition. this is my problem, I am trying to figure out ways around not having an available analog broadcast to pick up, and can not find much info for this tv model online, not even part labels manuals or specs, Im wondering what my options for use or connecting it to another device are.. There is what appears to be an extra headphone sized jack/connector at the top next to the speaker, and a headphone plug does fit into it... but the label for it is long gone, so I do not know if it is an external antenna connection, external composite video in port, external video out port, or a service port of some kind, as it is right next to the rod antenna  screw connection, what exactly is it, and can it be used for an external video/sound input connection?, I see that  on other models before and after this one it can be used as a video/audio input, when utilized with a rca to headphone adapter cord but that does not tell me for sure if mine has that ability. What are my options with this?, I have some technologic know-how, but could not build my own signal transmitter, oscilloscope, built in jack, etc from scratch. is this model capable of easy external connections?, is the extra hole for an antenna input, video input or both?, can a box, dvd or vcr be connected, also is wrapping wire around the antenna and then connecting to the coaxial output on an external device feasible? Iv seen it work on other pocket tv's on the internet but dont know about the true signal quality/effeniency I would be able to make most physical external connection adapters myself, or, are adapters other then the headphone to rca adapters sold to remedy the problem of having a rod antenna and little to no external hook-ups? p.s I am not opposed to having it constantly wired/tethered to a much larger device, as it would be used for a novelty or in a small area where a larger unit would be to big or unweildy, like next to a bed, spot at the table, etc, also I would probably not use it for cctv or similar as I have little to no use for such things the picture included is not of my actual item, but the same model and version, for reference purposes I appreciate any help, as it appears to be functioning it would be a shame to not find a use for .

I need help locating watch parts

After some thought I have taken it to pieces to see how it worked, since it was definitely broken. Upon inspection I now know which parts are no longer functioning.  I can find most of the parts on the Internet but unfortunately I can't find a hairspring for it... Has this happened to anybody else

Hey. I published my instructable, and entered it in the pocket sized contest over a week ago. There's no reason it wouldn't be accepted, and I even got an e-mail telling me my entry was accepted. So why is my instructable nowhere? I looked through every single page of recent, rating, views etc and it isn't anywhere. Hell, even when I type the exact words into the search (of the title) it doesn't appear. Has anyone else had this problem?

How to make a pocket for dress shirt? Answered

I would like to add pockets to some ready made shirts I bought for my husband. (I had forgotten he only likes shirts with pockets....they were so nice that it flew out of my mind.) I don't really have enough material to cut a patch from the bottom of shirts. But I thought maybe I could add some sort of hidden pocket by making something like a bound buttonhole with a hidden pocket of a similar color in cotton. Does anyone have a solution? Epilog and Pocket sized electronics challenges

Hi, I would like to submit an instructable to the Epilog and Pocket sized electronics challenges. It is a spark/electric arc generator, which has many uses such as using it as a spark gap radio transmitter, igniting flammable gasses or liquids (camping stoves), or using the high voltage to charge capacitors. The circuit is based on that of a DIY stun gun, so the project could be used as a stun gun. In the rules it says the project can't be 'potentially dangerous'. So would this project be disqualified from the challenges for being too dangerous? I would of course warn people not to use it as a stun gun in the instructable.   Thanks in advance :) Detective Inspector Me
