I have a pair of nice, perfumed roses that are getting quite old now. This season one of them produced a nice fruit containing 8 seeds. It is a light pink variety and I also obtained some seeds from a white perfumed rose. Last time I did this was with my grandfather and I was still a little kid LOL The common way of multiplying your roses is by grafting them onto a fresh stem of some wild or low quality roses. The reason for this is quite simple: A "manufacturered rose" is usually designed to look pretty and show certain other features, but not be a strong plant. When using seeds it all comes down to how strong the original mother rose was, not the stock it was crafted on. In some cases you end up with a little bush rose in other cases with something that grows so high that the stem will break in strong winds. But for the lucky few cases that do work good you are paid off with a beautiful new rose. For next couple of weeks the seeds will stay in the fridge to aid germination but if it works out I will take pics of the progress and document it all in an Instructable - but it will be about a year to finnish as roses grow slow from seeds. If I don't forget it again I will also show how to graft one rose onto another to get a bush with different varieties in one.

I need to Re-Intonate my Floyd Rose Whammy Bar Bridge. I Used to take it to Guitar Center and pay $40.But I can't afford to keep doing that so i need to know how i can re-intonate it.

Would anything go wrong if you put a Floyd Rose locking nut on an acoustic? I'm refinishing/getting better parts for an acoustic guitar for a 4 year old, I'm trying to find someway of keeping the guitar in tune longer than it would if a kid were playing around with the tuners.

Do you ever see those roses at the gas stations that are made of ribbon? the kind of ribbon that's sort of shear and has wire for the edges? I remember getting a closer look at it and seeing that the stem was wire as well and wrapped with shear non wire edged ribbon, but i have no clue as to how to make it.... I've been curious for a while but i don't think buying one and ripping it apart to see how it ticks would be exactly sufficient... could someone please make an instructable on this?

Green Flowers, folded and constructed from dollar bills. Prefer rose shape, but open to other types of flowers as well. No cutting, just folding. Thanks
Duct Tape Roses, Concrete Lightbulb Wall Hook, and the Drainage Luge were all mentioned as part of Penelope Green's review of The Best of Instructables. Duct Tape Roses Add a Lot to a HomeThe duct tape roses I made over Thanksgiving were fetching (until they were gummed by the cat), but post-turkey lethargy prevented me from digging into the meatiest projects in "The Best of Instructables" (Make: Books; $34.99). One example: the concrete light bulb wall hook, described as "an excellent excuse for driving a lag bolt into your wall" by its inventor, Ray Alderman. He and it are emblematic of the instructables universe, a blogging community of do-it-yourself-ers, robot-makers, food hackers and techno-geeks who share their crafty ways at Make magazine and Instructables (makezine.com and instructables.com), sometimes selling the finished products on etsy.com, the online bazaar for handmade things.More news and press about Instructables here.

No intentions to rip off anyone's work! I am new to this and really want to play around with the style. I just don't get how the silk flowers are attached, though! Thanks in advance. Kindly, Danielle *Photo is from BeSomethingNew on Etsy

Since completing this class I've been playing with a 5V LED strip which runs happily off a plug-in power supply meant for charging a mobile phone or a 13A power socket that has an in-built USB charger port. I'd like to use the strip to make a pendant ceiling light, but I can't find any mains (240V 50Hz here in the UK) lampholders or ceiling roses that have an in-built USB port. With more and more people wanting to power low voltage LED lighting from a mains voltage lighting circuit, without having to bury a power supply in the ceiling somewhere, this seems strange. Is there any inherent reason why doing this would be a bad idea? I'm thinking of taking the transformer/rectifier gubbins out of the plug-in power supply and fitting it into a ceiling rose.

My friend Marc Scheff is an accomplished digital painter, and recently came up with a new idea: when painting someone's portrait, why not give them both the finished product and the work as it was created? Thus were born Video Portraits. He's done a bunch, which you can find on his blog.I've included two, here. One of a woman named Polly Rose and another of Barack Obama (our next president-to-be!) Hi everyone. I am making a wedding cake in June and, because the couple are doing it on a very tight budget, I need to DIY as much as possible I have no idea how to make a posy. Preferably using artificial roses. I need help to make a budget topper that looks a million dollars (or pounds). I would also need help with the same but using fondant. Can anyone help?

Can you help me find an ible please? It was for hand made roses but they were called something like, Heritage or antique or old-fashioned. They were quite plump and the colours were soft and blended, there was, I think, print on the paper to make it look old. They were very lush and beautiful, even maybe shabby-chic. When I used some of the Key words I get gardening sites and answers. Help please.

I know this is not something that I usually do, but I have decided to create albums for the original kids from Homestuck: John Egbert, Rose Lalonde, Dave Strider, and Jade Harley. Explanations of the songs picked will be noted, and I will try and get the running times of each album. Each album has six tracks, with extended versions of songs when possible, so I'd say these are Deluxe EP (extended playtime) Singles. I may try to cut down the running time and make LP (limited playtime) singles another time, and also, don't hold me to it, do soundtracks for some of my favorite trolls. (Note: you don't have to appreciate, understand, or have read Homestuck to enjoy this; as all the songs center around a character, to some extent, they center around a theme. Enjoy!) Without further ado, DarkOwlKnex productions proudly presents its first four Deluxe EP singles. (Disclaimer: I don't own any of these songs; these are just some of my favorites that I feel fit the lives of the characters. All rights go to the original artist and record company.) The Windy Thing: The Tale of John Egbert 1. Blue Monday (12" Version) - New Order (John's Home Life Theme) 2. Procession (12" Version) - New Order (John's 'Physical' Death Theme) 3. Ride The Wild Wind (Hybrid Extended Version; Fan Made Mix) - Queen (John, The Heir of Breath) 4. Hammer To Fall (Headbangers 12" Mix) - Queen (John's Strife Specibus: The Hammer) 5. Lullaby - The Cure (John and Vriska's Theme) 6. High (Extended Version) - The Cure (John's Ascent to God Tier; John and Jade's Brotherly/Sisterly Love Theme) GrimDark: The Tale of Rose Lalonde 1. Vicious Streak - New Order (Rose's Home Life Theme; The One-Upping-War Against Her 'Mother.') 2. Procession - Queen/Traditional Arrangement (Rose's 'Physical' Death Theme) 3. The Prophet's Song - Queen (Rose, The Seer of Light; Rose and Doc Scratch's Theme) 4. Twenty Four Hours - Joy Division (Rose's Destiny) 5. The March Of The Black Queen (Deep Cuts Version) - Queen (Rose's Rampage) 6. She's Lost Control (12" Version) - Joy Division (Rose Goes GrimDark) Cool Kid: The Tale of Dave Strider 1. Airheads - Roger Taylor (Dave, The Cool Kid; Dave's Home Life Theme) 2. Ceremony (Original Version) - New Order (Dave's 'Physical' Death Theme) 3. Time - Freddie Mercury (Dave, The Knight Of Time) 4. Two Sharp Pencils (Get Bad) - Roger Taylor (Dave's Ironic Humor; Dave and Terezi's Theme) 5. Synchronicity (Part One) - The Police (Dave's Time Hijinks) 6. Synchronicity (Part Two) - The Police (Dave's Time Hijinks... Revisited) Squiddles: The Tale of Jade Harley 1. De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da - The Police (Jade's Home Life Theme; Jade, The Silly, Creative Girl) 2. Ceremony (Alternate Version) - New Order (Jade's 'Physical' Death Theme) 3. Killing Time - Roger Taylor (Jade, The Witch Of Space) 4. Dreams Never End - New Order (Jade's Dreams) 5. A Winter's Tale (Fickle Mix; Fan Made Extended Version) - Queen (Jade's World In The Medium) 6. Beautiful Dreams - Roger Taylor (Jade's Dreams... Revisited) That's it! Again, all rights go to the original artist and their record company/copyright holder. I hope that you enjoyed, and since I'm assuming that you didn't listen to all of the Deluxe EP's, I encourage you to come back and listen to them all when you have the time. -DarkOwlKnex
