I've just seen a genuinely worrying question - "How to be a Goth Lolita"That question causes some genuinely disturbing images...

Lavender town is probably the most creepy place in Pokémon games. In 1996 Red and Blue, suicide in children supposidly spiked. So (spupidly) I decided to listen to the Lavender town music with headphones on. I now have a splitting headache and feel ill. I do not belive in most of the ''creepy pasta's'' on the internet but the headache thing is real. Listen to the music at your own risk. The images belong to me.

The scary maze is a game in which you must guide the dot to the end of the level without touching the wall of the maze. There are 4 levels. Playing the game on full volume helps. http://www.wimp.com/maze/This one below is a scary video, which is not related to the topic. (Couldn't resist adding it!)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEIaPSojGFE&fmt;=18

This Halloween project is so scary that the inventor (myself) felt shock and awe at it. I was genuinely scared at the running of this machine...and rightly so! So I figured I would spread the scariness to all who see this machine, to set the mood for a DIY Halloween... The machine in question is what I have named the Tesla CD Turbine. The CD Turbine is magnetically-coupled to a Skilsaw blade. (What I teasingly call the PumpkinCutter Attachment). The Tesla CD Turbine uses recycled CD's and neodymium magnets for rotating parts...nothing else. It can rev up to thousands of rpm. It has no bearings or seals and is magnetically coupled to implements. It runs on either compressed air or water pressure. But hey, put on a magnetically-coupled Skilsaw blade, run it at thousands of rpm, and you have a very dangerous PumpkinCutter! (Instructable is ready...if you dare!) Beat that for a wild, scary, hi-tech, cheap and recycled Halloween project!!

Hey, everybody! I decided to submit a forum for scary stories and poems. Please post something scary, but nothing longer than a short story. I may add more scary things to this forum (in the comments), so you might want to check back on this every once in a while. To start, here's a poem I came up with. Please enjoy. Horror Work 1 He'll follow and chase, Slowly driving you nuts. Steal your mind from your brain Till you're only a husk. You'll get sicker and sicker; It grows worse with the years. Then finally the man In the dark suit appears. His garb is the blackest. His skin is quite white. The tendrils wrap 'round, You can't put up a fight. He draws you close in, And begins with his work. As he removes you from life, You shake and you jerk. And then he is done, This thing with no face, And takes with him your body To some strange unknown place.

Hi everyone! I'm new here, so nice to meet everybody. I just want to show off the beginning of a costume I'm making. I'm planing on finishing it up with a full body suit, but I have to wait for the fur to arrive in the mail. I just discovered Instructables, so I didn't really think about documenting any steps, so I'm gonna try to make another head piece with step by step instructions if anyone is interested. Well, I hope you guys like it! It was a lot of fun to make!https://www.instructables.com/id/Werewolf-Mask/

If you don't care about the origin of this question, skip the next paragraph(s).I've recently inherited a(n old, beat up, musty, covered-in-tomato-sauce) prop coffin that was once used in John Doe's Halloween display. My friend's brother "acquired" the thing a few Halloweens ago; he was using it as a table. So far, I've put a few hours of work into the once-disheveled box by sanding and painting it... I made it sturdier, purty-er, and much much more comfortable (with padding and everything)! Now that the coffin is easier on the eyes, I've realized that I have no idea what I'm going to do with it! I'm moving into a house with 3 of my friends in a week, and I would like for the coffin to serve a purpose, (besides the off chance that one of us kicks the bucket this semester). What should I do with this thing? Table? Guitar case? Clothes hamper? Guest bed for my shorter vampire friends?Keep in mind the coffin can either rest laying down, (as shown,) or balanced upright on the skinnier end. Dimensions: measures 58" long, by 35" wide, and about 15" deep. It can easily fit most young children.... muahahaha!! (No, I'm not going to really put anyone inside this thing. For now.)

I awaken in a place I'm not familiar with. Seems I am in some sort of hospital, the white walls, they look padded, could it be I am here because of something mental? I really haven't a clue. The only thing I really remember is the man, I recently met, what I would call the man of my dreams. I just don't understand why I am here. I guess I will figure it out eventually. In the mean time I will think about my new suitor, this will calm my nerves. We met inocenntly enough, by bumping into each other literally. He was coming out of the dime store as I was going in and we just collided. He was so good looking, with his dark hair, beard, and blue eyes. He looked so good, he actually took my breathe away. After bumping ino him I say," Oh my goodness, I am such a klutz. I am so sorry" He replies," No harm done. I should have been watching where I was going. But it's not every day I bump into some one as beautiful as you. Let's start over, hi, my name is Dillion." Blushing, I answer back, " Strange way to meet some one. I am so sorry. Thank you for the compliment. I guess I at least owe you my name. My name is Laura. Again I am so sorry for bumpimg into you." " No need to apologize, maybe us bumping into each other was destiny. Maybe it meant for this to happen, so we could meet each other. Anyway, I would be honered if I could take you to dinner. How about tonight? We could meet right here, if you like, at least until you get to know me a little better. I want you to be at ease with me, not to think I am Jack the Ripper", then he laughs. " You aren't shy are you? O.K., we will meet here say at seven? I guess the least I can do is give you a chance, so I will see you here at seven." Dillion agreeing, the we part ways and I go back to shopping, but I can't get Dillion off my mind. I am just so excited about our date tonight, I literally can't be still. Soon it is almost six, so I rush back to my apartment to freshen up before I go to meet Dillion. Almost being seven, I rush back to the dime store, I surely don't want to be late for our first date. Arriving I see Dillion is already there, nevously pacing back and forth like an expectant father. I notice he is carrying a bunch of yellow roses, my favorite color. I make sure Dillion sees me so I don't startle him, walking up to him I say," Hi, have you been waiting long?" Dillion says," I been here for a few minutes. May I say you look beautiful. Also, I got you these. I hope you like them. " I am very flattered by the roses. Thank you so much. How did you know I liked yellow?" " Remember when I first met you, you were dressed in all yellow, just like you are now and may I say the yellow looks great on you because of your dark hair. Anyway I figured you like the color because of how you were dressed and it appears I was right. I thought maybe we go out to dinner, then we catch a movie, how does that sound to you?" " Dinner and a movie sound really good. You lead and I will follow." Here in Lake Charles, Loisiana not that many things to do like you would in a big town. We are just Cajun folk. We choose the movie 2012, because I have been dying to see it. But first we settle on great Cajun food at a restaurant known as Hebert's. Before that we make a quick trip to my apartment so I can put my roses in water. We arrive at the restaurant and lead to a table by the hostess. Then we are greeted by the waiter. I order catfish and Dillion orders gumbo. Waiting on the food, we have a couple of beers as we talk. Dillion says," Have you thought since we meet that maybe it was pre-ordained? I think you are one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, since we bumped into each other you have been the only thing on my mind. I feel privileged just to be in your presence." I look at Dillion feeling my face blush I say," Thank you for your kind words, you so flatter me. You could be right because since I met you I can't think of any thing else but you. There is definitely some kind of chemistry here wouldn't you say? I am always on guard because I have been hurt before, but with you I haven't even thought of this and don't really care. I just couldn't wait to see you again." " I must say I feel exactly the same way. I want to get to know you, do things with you and I hope this won't be our only date. You just leave me breathless." " I want to see you again also. You know I have lived in Louisiana a couple of years now and I have never been sight seeing. I have always had an interest in the supernatural and two places I wanted to see here is Magnolia Plantation and the Myrtles Plantation. The stories behind these places just fascinate me." " Well, we have something in common, an interest in the supernatural. I visited Magnolia Plantation once, all the voodoo practiced there, to think of it just gives me goose bumps. So if we agree to see each other this is something you would like to do? Soon our food arrives and we continue talking through out the meal, I love getting to know someone on this level. After we finish our meal we go to see 2012, after that Dillion drives me to my apartment, after arriving Dillion says," I was having such a good time, I hate for the night to end. Do you want me to walk you to your door?" " No, I will be fine but thank you for asking. I hate for the night to end also, so would you like to come in for a while?" " Are you sure it will be alright? I would love to come in." After we both reach the door, we walk in, the first thing I do is put on some music, then go to the kitchen to get a couple of beers. Dillion walks around the living room looking at pictures and things. Arriving back in the I hand Dillion his beer, but he puts it on the table, lightly grabbing me around the waist and starts dancing with me. This totally surprise me. I am totally swept off my feet. Then before I realize it we are sharing a very passionate kiss. Then he picks me up in his arms, us staring each other romantically in the eyes, and he heads toward the bedroom. I usually don't sleep with some one on the first date, but this I just couldn't help myself. We end up making wild passionate love all night. The next morning we wake up and after breakfast we decide to drive to and tour Magnolia Plantation, the plantation steeped in voodoo. After arriving here the feeling one gets , well there are no words for the depressive feeling one has. Dillion walks around like he is in a trance like he notices everything here. After that first date we become quite the the item. We are always together and do everything together. Dillion sends me yellow roses every week, to show his feelings for me and he knows these are my favorite flowers. After a couple of weeks things start to change as Dillion starts spending more time with himself and then claiming him not remembering where he was or what he was doing. But I love him and I trust him. One night we stayed together we get up the next morning and in the local paper is a story about a horrific murder. " It says here they think this murder was some how connected to voodoo because they found a mojo bag. The murder they think was some sort of sacrifice to the Gods. The mojo bag was made of red flannel which signifies love. They say the victim was a young male around the age of twenty. Now that will send chills up your spine. Now we have a killer that worships voodoo Gods. How appropriate." Dillion says, " It is probably just some nut after their fifteen minutes of fame. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Why worry? You will be safe as long as you are with me." Two weeks pass with no more incidents, until one day another murder reported in the paper with the same M.O. Dillion says," Are you still worried about this psycho? I can tell from the look on your face after reading the paper. No need to worry my darling. " I guess you are right but I would think any woman that lives alone would be sort of alarmed, don't you?" " I tell you what to ease your nerves why don't you come stay with me until they apprehend this nut. I promise you will be safe." " Perhaps you are right. I will stay with you for a while." Time passes about three months now and I am still staying with Dillion. This thing really scares me. We both go to work, go out sometime together, but there are times Dillion just disappears for hours and he has no explanation. One day I'm cleaning the apartment and there is a knock at the door. Upon answering it, it is the police wanting to speak with Dillion. I ask," Why do you want to see him? Has he done something?" The police say," We want to speak with Dilllion because we think he is involved in something." "Involved in what? He is with me most of the time." " All we can tell you is that we think he may be involved with the voodoo murders, I'm sure you have heard of. The mojo bags being red flannel, doesn't Dillion's work have something to do with red flannel?" It all starts to make sense now, the red flannel, the times he disappears with no memory, Then this thought just overwhelms my mind and my next moment I am aware of, I wake up here in this mental ward. According to the doctors here, Dillion was made up, just something in my mind. I was lonely so Dillion was a fabrication. The murders were real enough though and they bothered me so much I fit them in to my illustration. So they say I can't distinguish between reality and imagination. I see it is almost time for me to see the doctor again but first I hear a knock on my room door. I say," Come in." In comes an orderly carrying a bunch of yellow roses.

Okay so here's the deal: I downloaded a Coheed and Cambria album off of zune marketplace. Love that album! But one thing, there is this song called "Always & Never". It is very catchy, great guitar... but there is just something about it. Weird background voices/noises, it freaking hypnotizes me!!! Does anyone know if there is a story behind this odd song?If you have never heard the song before go here and tell me what you think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYKZfM-itEUP.S. I know I have said it before.. but there are freaky background voices/noises. Listen for them. It's like giggling, screeching, gibberish baby talk, random words.

Hi all, My girlfriend and I are going to be making a haunted house and we're looking for ideas. We have access to an old abandoned house and we're going to pretend that one of us is a house inspector or a rat catcher or something and have friends set their friends up for a Halloween scare. We've got some ideas (right now we're trying to build an r/c servo that pulls the pin holding up a painting so that it suddenly falls off the wall.... Tina built an r/c prank flashlight that we can remotely turn off (so that the flashlight 'fails' in a dark scary room) and we have some old creepy porcelain dolls that we want to remotely activate (heads turning, arms moving, that sort of thing) but we're looking for more ideas. We will invite the guest to inspect the house with one of us while the other person controls the pranks and gags. Anyway, if you have any great ideas or know of some good resources I would love to catch your feedback. Thanks! DAZU

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I got an IRC bot on my comp and pendrive. I know IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, and that it allows someone to acces my computer. Norton antivirus can't remove it, and I haven't tried with spyware doctor yet. Until I can conctact a friend of ours who can hoefully fix it, I'm open to suggestion. Also, another note. My previous comp, a desktop comp, had a virus. (I had written about this sometime ago) I had inserted Spyware doctor CD while it had that virus, then my comp started fainting (restarting randomly), and I was wondering if there was any chance the CD got damaged or infected? Last but not least, how do I remove the afore mentioned bot from my pendrive? I'm scared...

I was reading through the political blogs and found this Article. Basically a "security" firm was offering to send it's people to polling places in Oregon to prevent violence and "detain troublemakers". Now, to me, nothing says democracy like corporate interests sending thugs to polling places. But what makes this possible the stupidest offer ever. Well the punch line is in the last line of the article

Cheesy titles aside, this is serious buisness! i live in houston, and the hurricane is heading strait for us. i'm a little scared, of course, and the roads are all clogged. My mom has been looking around for gas stations with gas left... it's a pretty big deal. houston is 45 miles from the water, and the hurricane has been moving around towards us, and gaining speed, all overnite. i'm praying to god it doesn't strike. the mayor has had press conferences, cancled work and school... we may have to evacuate! i'm hoping this won't be another katrina... any thoughts?

Ever seen the movie "Sleepy Hollow" starring Johnny Depp? There is a scene in the movie where a little boy lights a punched tin candle holder, the punches are shaped like cats, witches, scary trees, etc. The heat from the candle makes the tin slowly spin.....casting scary shadow pictures all over the walls. This is SO COOL, I have been looking for one for years on ebay, antique shops and such....cannot find one! This would make a GREAT instructable!

This umbrella is so tough you can stand on it, destroy scary watermelons with it and even use it in a bit of self-defense. Apparently these are used in the Philippine Secret Service who are happy with their $180 umbrellas.Gotta love the video, though. Seeing this guy take out the watermelon in what seems like a serious parody of Gallagher is awesome. Link

It may seem strange, but a scientist has implanted an ID chip with a computer virus inside it into his body so that whenever he passes an ID scanner, the virus will copy itself onto the scanner and spread throughout the system. It was made to prove a point that if somebody were to create a virus for the ID chipping system, it would be easy and could kill somebody if they had, for example, a pacemaker. A scary thought!

A pair of red LEDs which blink in an approximation of the glowing red eyes of some baleful critter lurking in the shadows behind me as I hand out candy to the kids. I figure to poke the LEDs through a piece of cardboard sprayed with flat black paint. Half a dozen sets of light would make for a pretty scary pack of, well, something. Just the thing for Halloween. I don't have the technical background to do this but it seems like it might be fun and cheap.

I have the bad habit of leaving my garage door open sometimes. To come home with your garage wide open is pretty scary. So I was thinking of this idea... The garage automatically closes after 5 minutes. But that's pretty annoying so I figured you could install a switch underneath the garage door opener that will leave the garage door open. Any ideas on how this could be done or more suggestions? Thanks!

The GO GREEN!! Contest. The challenge would be to make DIY stuff that has to do with using less energy and making the planet better. An example of an entry wcould be a solar oven . What do you think? P.s. Have a waffle ;)

My student loans got screwed up! It should be fixed now, but won't know for ten days (at the most, they said), scary, what with bills and tuition to pay too. Add to that two exams (Kinematics and ceramic materials) and a presentation and a senior design report all in that time period. And my wife's so upset about the loans she's refusing to speak to me. School sucks kids! Okay, only some of the time, the rest of the time it freaking rocks. Spent the evening hiding out at a friends watching Hot Fuzz. Just wanted to unload.

Hey homeboys and girls. This is Bilal checking in from Eric's dining room table. So it's true, I did have a bit of trouble with Airport Security. They made me miss my flight checking out all my crazy scary gadgets. It would be irritating but hey, I'm sure loads of people haven't seen a metronome before. Gasp! It ticks! Arriving in SF would have been quite unsatisfactory without a brief car chase so thankfully security obliged us with a short run with their tiny electric cars. Never fear, Eric, Christy and I made a swift getaway to the hills. Go Volvo go! -BG (thanks for breakfast Eric)

This microbe wants to rule the universe!!!Pretty scary how it can modify you to allow it to pass on and spread *shudders* makes rats seek out cats, and people get cozy....So next time your cat snuggles with you, run for it!! It's an evil protozoan trying to conquer all life forms!!It would be wise to steer clear of your neighborhood crazy cat lady as well... Last night I dreamed of massive Earthly destruction by huge flaming rocks from the sky. It was really, really cool, but rather scary. Black sky, massive and multiple flaming rocks from above impacting with devastating effect (some distance away, but close enough to feel shock-waves). Not like the image, more real and hot-burning coals like (but that's the best I could manage to get for 2 mins of searching)If it happens soon it's a premonition?(I also dreamed that some landlord-bast's had been in while I was out and cleaned my place out of all the junk and important stuff like my furniture, PC etc and moved the stuff out of the shed into my lounge, but that was a completely separate scene and in daylight...)I was glad to wake up!

I have been thinking about this for a long time now and in therory it works. What im wordering is if you could make it work in place of the traditional power outlet. Here it is, basicly there are just coils of wire inside of a transformer, on coil has say 240 turns of coil. Inside of this coil is another coil with 240 turns also. So the voltige inside the first coil will be the same as the second coil. And to half the voltige in the first coil. If you had a plug that was just a cilender with a coil of wire inside and an outlet that was a hole in the wall with a coil inside. I know a hole in the wall with 120 volts running through it sounds scary , but put a plastic cylinder inside the hole and vurtaly no shock hazerd. sorry for the spelling errors spell check was not working.

I was doing a regular check of what coudal were linking and I found this. Spending a lot of time looking at Instructables Answers I'm both amused and interested, (and some other things...): www.yahooanswerfail.com/page/3/ E.g. ive heard a lot about this thing called autism. apparently it's like a special ability some people hav that makes you rly good at card games and stuff. how do i become autistic so i can win at casinos?! 31 - Do midgets have night vision? Posted in Pro because some questions are on the adult-side. It's scary in places, while mostly "sad". The point of this post is to remind those of us who look at Answers that it's pretty good around here. L

As an un-indicted co-conspirator on one of the finalist entries, I hate to seem like a sore loser, but I think the judges missed the boat on a few of the winners. Considering it was a "Summer Sewing Contest" that was looking for "Summery" projects that were "celebrating summer", Upcycled Quilts and Pokemon Snuggie Costumes, without even a hint of summer theme, seem a little out of spirit. Fine instructables to be sure, but best saved for the next iterations of SEW SCARY and SEW WARM. To give credit where credit is due, the Grand Prize winner could not have been more appropriate. It was unquestionably "Summery", most definitely a sewing project, and very well done. I hope the judges will weigh more heavily the theme of the contest in the future.

A new study found that after giving the ISI civil literacy quiz to over 2000 people, those who held some form of office scored lower on average than those who didn't!Bear in mind it was close, and both were poor: 44% to 49%, yet it's kind of scary to think about! You can take the quiz yourself, and see how well you do. I got a 64%, which isn't great, but I'm apparently in the top 85% of the random sample!I'm curious how some non-Americans will fare. Please don't be embarrassed to post your score, we won't mock you too much...( via )

If anyone here has seen Irobot ( which you must have to be on instructables ) are familliar with the line "ghosts in the machine" which basically means there are always thigns/ functions we cannot explain. What do you think about this, how long until we make machines that truly "think for themselves, and can strategize to overthrow us. Recently in a podcast i listened to, the host talked about a robot that was created, and could "think" for itself. It has already though up and tested it's own theories. ( a bit scary ) Basically the point of metioning this, is to help people realize we have already taken the first step. Now the question is, how long until we outdo ourselves, end up in virtual worlds and the earth is one giant farm that the robots use to farm us for power?

Some friends and I were bored so we took a walk to the fire station. We brought along some markers and cardboard and decided to kill time with some harmless Hijinks. We held up signs that said "Free Lemonade" with an arrow pointing in a random direction. People honked their car's horn or waved, it was all good and fun (We were in fifth grade BTW). About fifteen minutes in I hear screeching and my friend yells "RUN!". Not knowing what was happening, I look behind me and see a huge cloud of white smoke. We ditched the signs and booked it out of there. For a few seconds I didn't know what we were running from, but I could tell by the look on my friend's face it was bad. When I asked him later, he said that the guy driving the car looked pissed. He said the smoke was from the car pulling a hard U turn and accelerating towards us. We knew the car was chasing us so we ran into the bushes by the driveway of a cop's house. We heard a car coming up the driveway a few feet from us, and got really freaked out. We saw that it (thankfully) was the cop's patroll car. We ran up to him and told him about the car. He said he saw the smoke and called it in on the radio.

Just a bit of a survey. Would an I'ble on this be worth it? Or should I, work on the technique some more. My aim is to create semi-realistic wounds for minimal cost, that can be applied as this was 20mins before kids turned up. Turned out after the first boy, the wound was just too scary for under 16's. I had to cover it up, until later at night when the hoodlems came out. This was last Halloween, took 15mins and cost $0.50US all up... Is it good enough to deserve an I'ble? I know there are plenty, if not too many FX I'bles, yet all seem to induce some significant cost and/or having to locate "not normal" products. Comments / critique welcomed, as I want to improve this moreso.

Wow! I've been experiencing a chain of weird, almost scary dreams lately involving instructables...... It was a normal Sunday afternoon, I go to I'bles, and I read my comment tracker. I can actually read the comments I will get later on in the real world. I kept having these dreams for about a week. Meh, Strange stuff..... Do you have weird dreams of your own? if so, post it here! UPDATE!!!! Another very weird dream! It was a normal afternoon. I read comics. Then, suddenly, strangers started saying gibberish. This was repeated for about 6 times, then I wake up. The first thing I realized is now my penis is " modded " by my parents... I screamed because of the intense pain......

Hi all, I'm building a haunted house and would like to make a prank flashlight that I can remotely turn off ("oops! The flashlight failed in the dark scary room!"). I'm using a 6V camping flashlight; my plan is to replace the big squareish 6V battery with 4 AA batteries (anyone know if that would work?); I would use the extra space in the battery housing to hide a remote-control system. Does anyone have any advice to build this prank? I don't know that much about r/c servos etc but I have a soldering kit and can follow instructions decently well enough :) Many thanks- Damian

I posted some stuff such a long time ago on a forum topic, and I looked back at it today. It still made me smile a bit. So... here are some things I came up with (Not meaning to offend these bands)Simple Plan = Complicated IdeaMetallica = Plastallica - If you don't get it, in Metallica you see the word metal. In Plastallica you see part of the word plastic. Or plaster. Whatever you want it to beMaroon 5 = Blue 2.550 cent = 25 centScar Symmetry = Bloody ArtSpoon = ForkRed Hot Chili Peppers: Blue Cold Habanaro PicklesGuns n' Roses: Broom n' Poisen IvyScary Kids Scaring Kids: Pretty adults prettying up adultsYeah...

OK, I was listening to a podcast a while ago, and I heard some thing quite surprising! What one researcher said is that our brain prepares us to do something 7 seconds before we actually think of it. WOW! So basically, our brain is ahead by 7 seconds. To me and some people it rally challenges the concept of free will, are we really just machines that work on instinct, of course, if our brain was really in control, how could we start to research about this. If our brain is so much ahead of us, would it really let us figure it out, or do we actually control our brain. Will it get to the point where our brains develop too much and start to control us, causing us to do things against our will? Scary thought isn't it? Just think, 7 seconds ago you were ready to read this! One more thing, Goodhart posted this link, anyone interested in this topic should read it.http://www.wnyc.org/shows/radiolab/episodes/2005/02/18

Anyone with an aluminum powerbook knows how scary-hot the get during a dvd rip. My solution is a steampunk liquid cooling tray. It would have a copper plate with a thin liquid reservoir just under the centre, where the processor is, with brazed copper tubes emanating outward under the tray. But to keep the tray thin, I can't take advantage of the natural upward flow of the hot liquid and I want to avoid radiators hanging out the back or sides. I figure I need a wee pump to push the liquid out to the outer edges to cool. Running off the USB of course! I've seen the one made from a phone vibrator, a pen and some tubing. That'd work, i suppose. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find a low voltage micro/nano pump? As for the USB, I found a mini voltage converter here. I can handle the design, it's the technical (esp. electrical) aspects that make me stumble. Any help would be so appreciated.
