Hi everyone, I was wondering what people are using for printing services out there, and which ones they prefer. I was thinking about entering the make it real challenge if i have enough free time and needed somewhere to get the idea printed, preferably the service would be one that uses the Objet 3d printer. Thanks for your time.

Hello all! I need some custom-designed parts for a project I am doing and I don't (yet) have the machinery and means to make them. I could go to any number of online places for custom parts, but I ask here first because I am trying to both support and rely on the community spirit of the site, and because the members here are more sensitive to some of the weird stuff people around here make and therefore are not simply suggesting materials based on "industry standard" uses. Additionally, I thought I would probably get a better deal without the "limited production run" price hike that machine shops usually charge. To add to that, I don't need new and shiny materials. As long as it works, I don't mind using what comes off of other people's scrap piles. I don't have the designs laid out yet, but I'm thinking I will probably have a need for cutout polycarbonate or aluminum about 3/16 to 1/4 inch thick (4.7-6.3mm), I'm not sure of the material yet. Basically, it would involve drilling one or more holes at each end of a short strip of that. Dead simple, and a pain that I can't do it, but like I said, I don't have the tools. For now, that's all I can think I need. If you're interested, send me a message and we can talk about details and compensation. I look forward to helping the Instructables community be as self-sufficient as possible! Thanks, Gareth

If anyone could help, what I'm looking at is a green pcb with D301-313 written on it, and it has a part named Q701 which looks like a very small ic with three legs at the bottom, and one at top, its surface mount and is blown up. It also has a delta sign on it with some design within, I cant read the rest of it cause its blown. Please help anyone, if you can... Whatever you may tell....

Image Processing Tutorial : What you do for your images? Are you in possession of images you want to convert in to digital form? Or simply you would like to perform some operations to enhance their outlook? Similarly if you just want to extract some useful information from them, all you need is a photo house that carries out image processing. This is where you can have a photo you want manipulated made the input as you give specified characteristics you want included. To do image processing, you may have to apply a set of signals that can give you the desired results. There are three distinct steps to follow in any image processing. They include: Importing images using a scanner or a photography Analyzing and manipulating images using enhancement and compression methods Altering the results we obtain at the output level There are plenty of reasons for carrying out image processing; the reasons and purposes are as follows: So that you can easily observe the parts that are not visible Restoration and sharpening the images for the purpose of making them look better Image retrieval – if you are interested in any particular image, you can have it retrieved. Identify the number of elements making up a pattern Distinguish the object and its image. There are two methods that can be used in processing any images. Digital Analog If you are analyzing hard copies and printouts, this is what is referred to as visual techniques. It involves use of various fundamentals and image processing techniques. You need to make use of technicians who are vast in image processing. They may use visual techniques and apply a combination of individual knowledge and experience in image processing. If your pictures are in a digital form, you may employ digital processing techniques to manipulate those using computers. Images collected from sensors and satellites can be manipulated to get the real images or data. To do this, you need experts who can take the images collected into a number of phases before coming up with the required images. They must have the latest skills to help them get over flaws and get original information. The data or images collected may be taken through the following phases; Pre-processing, Information extraction, Enhancement and display. Other than image processing service, you may need team to deal with computer graphics. This is where any desired image is manually made using physical models. It could include lighting, environment and natural scenes. This graphics can be used in animated movies, computer vision and plays. It can be used to create moving images to depict a story. Generally, imaging is key in image processing. The designers should consider a number of factors including; Human visual – where the designers consider the psychophysical process that takes place in human beings as they make sense out of information they see and receive. Lastly in all these, ensure that you get a clipping path company that is vast in imaging and which can work hand in hand with you to ensure that you get the required results.

Hey guys, I've got to do a project for school that needs to be fairly large, and the time limit is now until around next October. Basically I have to be able to present something, not necessarily something actually built but maybe something planned or designed, etc, along with an essay and a few other science fair type things. I have a couple ideas for stuff I want to do, but one problem is that anything I do has to relate to a couple different "Areas of Interaction", such as say, community and service, human ingenuity, health and social education, and environments (meaning any interaction between people to people, people to animals, people to earth etc.) Some of my ideas include learning animation, like CGI stuff in movies, designing and building my own guitar from scratch, throwing a band together and writing, recording and editing my own songs, or maybe making a short film..not really sure so any help with idea generation and going about doing some of these things would be greatly appreciated :)

Welcome to the Services forum category! This category is for listing services for sale that are of interest to the Instructables community. Commercial postings are OK (and please note this is one of the few forum categories where commercial postings are acceptable). Please keep things relevant to the spirit of the site. Really cool listings may even be featured to the Instructables homepage, while irrelevant postings will be deleted. We encourage people to use our private messaging system to work out details, and remind you to deal locally when possible, or only with others whose reputation you can determine and trust (for example by checking out their Instructables profile). We strive to keep the quality of the listings high, but cannot guarantee their accuracy. When in doubt, ask lots of questions in the comments!

I've been having a hard time finding this and I was hoping you guys could help. I live in the Boston area, and I need a CNC service to cut some linoleum for linoprints. I can provide the files in any format needed pretty much. But I need someplace that can cut up to 36"x36" sheets down to a depth of 1/16th - 1/8th of an inch. Anyone know of a service that will do this? I can provide material. In fact I prefer it. Thanks.

I'm over 50 and trying to learn how to hack and mod electronic devices. Perhaps this is a dumb question, but so what: I have an old Samsung camera phone that is no longer subscribed to a phone service. It's just a phone, without a smart card. Is there any way to use it as a digital camera, or address book, alarm clock anyway?

Hello, I wonder if you have any information or guidance on the following:- Is there a service which transfers content from handwritten letters, or in images, such as in a fax service, to typed text which can then be sent to an e-mail address? Would there be some sort of security / anonymity / privacy involved, as there is with e-mails and post? Many people who require help on benefits, housing (travellers, homeless) do not necessarily have access to a computer, yet most of this information and guidance is available online. This is great for those who have access, but what about for those who have not? I know of PO Boxes which give anonymity, but this only works from one person to another, and only with written material. Any ideas or suggestions of such a service would be much appreciated. Hi, Wonder if anyone can help. I remember sometime in the last 3 years there was a competition where one of the prizes was a cash voucher for a machining service. Like Shapeways but for CNC machining. Just wondered if anyone remembers what the service was called? I have been asked to re create a spinning wheel and thought it would be cool to use there services for a part which would be very difficult for me to make otherwise. Any help would be ace. :)

HI everyone. I am wanting to start a 3d printing service business. This would be on a small scale to start. My question is how to securely download 3d files from customers so that I can use those files to create a 3d printed object for them, then ship objects back. I thought about offering the service on craigslist and receive the customer's file through email. But I know that a website would be better, but have no idea as how to implement the capability to receive customers' files securely and while keeping those files organized. Items will be printed using a makerbot, so I would communicate to potential customers as to the limitations of said printer. Thanks, and would appreciate any answers or advice.

I need a recommendation for possible ISP's and phone service bundles. I have been looking at the AT & T one and a higher priced one from Quester, but am undecided at this point, since my verizon line will not stay connected long enough for me to search the web from click to click, much less "surf" the web *sigh* The location would have to be in Lancaster County, PA (that's the USA for those outside the USA). :-) One ISP/Phone combo we've been looking at is: Open range, anyone know anything about it?

I get this when I go to edit my instructables "There's been a problem updating your Instructable [object Object] error Service Unavailable" I cannot edit my instructables becuase of this and I get the "updating" progress bar that does not go away unless I use ad-block plus to force remove the object. But this makes the edit page half rendered and any edits do not save. It happens in multiple web browsers. What could be causing this? Thanks.

11 days ago, I contacted the other Anolon winners (Thanksgiving challenge) to see if their cookware had arrived. It hadn't. As per a suggestion from mikeasaurus, I sent an email to firstname.lastname@example.org regarding the prizes. Didn't hear back, so I emailed again last week. Still no word. Is there a different robot I should be contacting? ;-)

Just had a flyer through from these guys http://ragworm.eu/ VERY low cost PCB making - around 6 USD/sq inch for double sided plated holes - and they have very liberal design rules, so they'll cut boards to weird shapes too Looks like free UK shipping, I don't see what they are saying about international orders. I have a service that records all my passwords, usernames and logins, etc. as I type them in. It works perfectly everywhere and all the time except on your site. How come your site can't reliably find the information I typed in to open the account and that was simultaneously recorded by the top rated password service on the net? Sometimes it opens, mostly it doesn't. Can you help?

Hey, As you may have seen in my previous topics that i was asking ways to make money i have thought out and planned to make a business from the help of friends and family. It would be a general business and the aim would be to earn money as all ways. So the business is not just doing or selling one thing but everything possible to make money. So it would be a home based business for starters and then would expand to a shop. Here are the things we plan to sell. - Burned music cd and movies and games. - Tourist guide service - rare stones and artifacts - Typing and computer services - necklace and other jewelery - Website building service - Gadget shop - Second hand goods for sale And i need more of your ideas to add to the list..so your ideas are welcomed.

I have a Sony hcd-fx10 dvd home theater system, and one day I turned it on and it went into protect mode. I contacted Sony and they said it needs to be serviced. I found a service manual online and took the unit apart. I consider myself handy, so this was not a problem. Upon further investigation and with use of the service manual, i found a brown burn mark on the bottom of the motherboard, which corralates to the protection detection module on the board; which is my prblem. My question is, Can I simply remove this module, or does it need to be replaced with a new one or something similar? I don't know much about circuitboards but have some skill at soldering. Attached are pictures, the best I could get of the small board, showing the actual module on the board and the burn mark on the bottom of the board. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Hi! I am offering my services for some simple web design, or 2D flash animation, or both! I use the Godaddy web hosting service, and use Flash CS4 for all my animating. If you wish to be hosted by another service, I can do that as well. Here is some of my work; www.brianschopshop.com I did this website for a local barber when I lived in Wisconsin. I try to keep an up to date relationship with my clients. If you wish to contact me email me at email@example.com, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I will answer comments to this forum topic as well. I charge about 50-100 dollars per page depending on the content, and animation is charged by the length at 10 dollars for every 20 seconds.
