Is this a fake G-Shock? Answered

Hi, I've got a G-Shock with the model no. G-100-1BVMES. Is this a fake model no. as I can't find it on European, US or UK G-Shock websites. I got it from a well-known jewellers so I don't think it's fake...but when I looked the model no. up it only appears on a few websites. On the G-Shock UK website is appears as 1BVMUR...it looks like my one but I'm not 100% sure if it is a real one under a less popular name. Any information would be much appreciated. Thank You super_me

shock of a 9volt battery

Have you ever put a 9volt battery on your tongue? You will get a shock, or a charge on your tongue. How come if you put it on your finger or arm, you can not feel the same charge? How can I get that charge to be felt on your finger?

A friend of my fathers had a dry cell powered device with two metal handles you gripped while the operator slid a rod in a coil to increase voltage. the idea was to hang on till you couldn't. Shocks w/ electro magnetics

Hello Every one this is my first post, and since I am a full time student, full time para legal and full time parent, I'm just going to throw this idea out there and let others build on it. Its just an idea that I have had for years. Concerning electro magnets and shock absorber for your average car. Let me know your thoughts. My main thought is that the magnets would be working with reverse polarity add in electricity and you have a pretty good repelling force for going over those bad Jersey roads. Let me know your thoughts.

Looking for directions for a device made in electric shop class that would let the user shock himself.

I remember that it was mounted on a block of wood, and had a metal plate attached to one side with holes in it.  It used a D battery and a copper wire coil.  A rectangular piece of copper with a copper probe attached was held by the user.  You would try to pass the probe through the holes in the metal plate; if you touched the plate, you were shocked. Does anyone have directions for something like this?

Xbox 360 Keeps Shocking Me, New Mouse Pad Is Making Cursor Twitchy

Whenever I touch my Xbox 360 after playing it for a while, it shocks me. It's really fucking annoying. It hurts too. It's made my finger go numb at the tip a couple times. I put a piece of a static cling fridge calender over the drive eject button, and that works most of the time, but any time my finger is a little bit off the piece of plastic and touches the Xbox, it shocks me. It gets me if I touch a thumb drive I've had in there a while too. I think it might have something to do with me not being grounded to the console via a controller wire, because my controllers are wireless, unlike my GameCube ones, which I would never (or rarely maybe, I dunno) get shocked from. I have another problem too, I have this mouse pad with a wrist rest, but the mouse pad part of it is fabric on top, and always catches hairs and dirt and stuff, so I cut it off. I have the wrist rest taped to my keyboard tray now where it would normally be, but I'm using a Dell mouse pad that came with my computer. The problem is, ever since I've started using it (yesterday) my cursor has been twitching, anywhere from a few centimeters to going all the way to the edge of the screen. This happens constantly, probably once a minute. This is also driving me crazy. I've heard that having a mouse pad with colours and stuff like that all over it can make optical mice twitch. The one I'm using now is just different shades of grey, I don't think it should be this bad.

device that applies braking force proportional to speed?

Hi, I'm helping a team of students make a brake-assist device for a two-wheeled walker.  We were wondering if there are mechanical brakes out there that apply a force proportional to the speed.  A circular damper, is how we would describe it, I think.  Or something like a gas shock (the things on screen doors and car trunks) but with a circular motion rather than a linear stroke.  Anyone have any ideas?  Anything that's commercially available, small, and somewhat inexpensive is fair game.  Bonus points for things that can be made by hand..  Thanks!

Can it be made? electro-stim

I am wanting to make a special gift for my man this valentines day.Is it possible to make one of these with things lying around the house, or maybe a local store? This is a device that I can put on my mans "man-hood" and it will send electric waves through it.You can see it here:a ---FRIENDLY--- link here:http://www.therimbastore.com/Novelties05/ElectroPowerbox880.pdf-“Electro sex is a method of sexual stimulation involving the use of low voltage electronic signals to stimulate the nerves in the sexual organs into triggering pleasure and orgasmic response. Utilizing electronic signals to duplicate and increase normal sexual stimulation can have quite a profound effect on the sexual arousal of an individual or individuals. The nerves can be triggered in a way that never occurs, even in the best "normal" sex, or with friction or mechanical vibrators. Nerves are electrical triggers, and by applying electronic signals to activate them, the feelings are incredible.” When you realize that ALL impulses in the human body are electric impulses... it's obvious that you can stimulate an orgasm using the right equipment and tools.

RF Transmitting Shock Alarm Clock

I thought of an idea awhile back but I lack the "know how" to pull it off. I've been trying to teach myself some basic electrical and computer engineering but i'm still not learning what i need to know in order to finish my project. as stated in the Title, i'm trying to build an alarm clock that wakes up its subject with a jolt of electricity rather then noise, vibrations or anything else. the concept is to incorporate a miniaturized TENS unit (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcutaneous_electrical_nerve_stimulation into an arm band or ankle bracelet sort of thing but comfortable. then when it is time to wake up the alarm clock then sends a signal to the arm/ankle band thus making it active. then to turn it off you would hit the off switch on the alarm clock not the band.  that is the extent of my crude invention, however i am having trouble with the transmitting part. what would i need to make this happen?? i was thinking of using an old car remote for some of the parts and using the overall idea of it in my alarm clock except i need a transmitter and receiver and i have NO idea how any of that works. thoughts? ideas? please let me know

Need a shock type collar for a fixed male cat to stop him from attacking a fixed female cat when he gets too close. Answered

Our 8 year old fixed male cat has decided he hates a fixed female in the house. He only attacks her, we thought fixing her would help, but it did not...he stalks her, and attacks her and bites her around the neck. We thought if we could put a low frequency shock type halter on him so when he gets within a few feet of her it would give him a small shock so he would avoid her. She of course would also have to have a collar on to "see" him coming. We have tried many different things, at this point she is safe in a separate room with a screen door, but that isn't fair to her or the other cats. Thank you and no I do NOT like the idea of shocking him, but I also do no like the fact she can be laying sleeping in a window, doing nothing wrong and he just jumps her. BTW..he is a very large Maine Coon/Siamese mix..about 18 lbs and she is a domestic short hair about 8 lbs...so it is never fair.

Is it possible to feel a zap from a watch battery and LED?

Here's the setup: one LED with its leads tied by conductive threads to magnets which stick to a watch battery, in contact with skin for multiple hours.  I had somebody say that this somehow was zapping them (enough to leave a rash).  Is this possible?  I've handled lit LEDs with watch batteries a lot (even underwater) and never felt a thing!  No spark, no zap, no shock, nothing.  So have I just been lucky?  Can this setup actually zap you enough to feel it, or even irritate your skin?  Or was the zapping perhaps an allergic reaction to the nickel magnets which was mistaken for being sparked?

I heard disposable cameras use high voltage for the flash. so if you were to take out the capacitor from 2 and plug the lead to the flash from 1 camera into the battery holder for another you could keep putting them together to get higher and higher voltages right?

SHOCKING NEWS! How can I stop getting shocked from static electricity? Answered

So I recently bought a scooter whose brake works by pressing aluminum on the tire. Here it is: https://www.amazon.com/Razor-Pro-RDS-Dirt-Scooter/dp/B00D9JGY0O/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 And when I ride fast, press on the brake, and then touch something, it shocks the living dead out of me! How can I stop this? I was thinking of covering the brake, where I press with my shoe with some type of ESD safe material. Could this work, cheaply? An ESD safe mat, glove, electronic component bag? How can I isolate my shoe? I think this might not be the correct term... Thanks!

Hydraulic Shocks - how to get/install/use them...?

I recently obtained a nice massage table for my wife (she does massage, studying to be an aesthetician too)... and it has a very nice feature; beneath the head-end of the table, there is a little lever, when depressed it raises from flat to about 60 degrees; and stops at any point in between as soon as the lever is released. And it stays there, even with most of my weight (250 pounds or so) pushing down against it. As soon as you press the little lever, it can be moved up or down again. I looked it over, and much of the mechanism is hidden, but I can see it relies on a (deceptively small) gas shock or hydraulic shock, like what is used in many car trunks and 3rd/5th door lifts for SUVs and hatchbacks. Though, obviously much stronger than those devices. So my question is, where can I find one of these things, and how does it come to be controlled by a little lever so that it can stop at any given point and bear a load without moving until the level is once again depressed? The main reason for my query is that the massage table is too narrow by far, and I plan on making a bigger one for her, with a few nicer features; but that is one I have no idea how to duplicate at the moment! Thanks!

Is there any way to make a simple, moveable shock absorber for climbing?

I'm trying to put a multi-purpose platform about 90 feet up a very large tree.  The first 25 feet or so from the ground is completely devoid of branches, so I threw a rope around some branches higher and then prusiked up it.  However, the throwing-the-rope-up-and-prusiking method will be ineffective higher up, as the dense braches would stop a rope thrown from getting anywhere.  So I was thinking that I'd do a via ferrata type system, where I had multiple slings attached to my harness and would attach them progressively to branches as I climbed, so that I could clip in, climb a few feet, clip in again, unclip the previous sling, and repeat this.  However, a short fall onto normal webbing or rope would cause serious injury.  I looked at buying a via ferrata kit, but the only ones I can find are one-time tear versions.  I really don't want to have to pay ~ 100 USD every time I fall, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a simple, reusable energy absorber, preferably from webbing, carabiners, etc. (i.e. the kind of stuff the average climber has lying around).  Thanks!

Found old dog collar, can i make it into a sort of taser? Answered

I found an old dog shock collar on my street with a broken collar(not reciever), can i make a remote to make it shock, or turn it into a taser? Basically i want something that i can have fun with, to shock my friends, or my other idea (since i have a mildly aggressive pit bull, would be to make a remote, so when he is outdoors and goes after strangers i can send the small shock it outputs to help train him to not act that way. Please help me figure this out, as i am a geek but know little about electronics when it comes to building them. Thanks. oh also the collar is a " Petsafe PIF-275" collar if this helps at all in figuring out how to do this.
