This is a group that is only for guns. NO K'NEX GUNS. I'm sorry but there are way too many groups devoted to firearms/air-guns or any type of weaponry that has K'nex weapons. I respect all who make K'nex weapons, but its getting kind of annoying... welcome to the group.welcome

To craft a gadget that shoots mosquitoes with laser, there is the need to know the enemy's vulnerability. The most needed is the mosquito vulnerability to laser shooting. What wattage of laser is sufficient? The configuration I think is, attracting mosquitoes with some infrared light (or, multivibrator), then shooting with laser. I might shoot with a continuous laser (after infrared path is broken, surely), but zip-zip-zip sort of (threshold activated shooting) is sensible, too.I stated this previously @ yahoo answers, but no (serious) answer wa there.See the question there, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090505022002AAnd31eFor a full, energy-harvesting mosquito-shooting gadget, a previous question might be related, too. That next question is about the malaria map (for energy harvesting, where necessary). http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090405004614AAsBwtL

I've received the request to build a theatrical prop that should be able to shoot a diluted tempera paint 30- 50' from the gun. Any suggestions for where to begin looking for a pump capable of that kind of pressure or velocity to shoot a relatively narrow stream great distances? I don't think water pumps would be able to handle the extra viscosity of the diluted paint. This would not be aimed at anyone, but over a dance crowd. Amazingly, people pay money for this experience. Anyone know what the guy with this green paint is using? Looks like a miniature fire hose. Many thanks for any suggestions! Instructables members are a talented and diverse bunch! Everyone's answers have been very helpful. Through your suggestions and additional research we have determined that portable fire fighting pumps are the simplest method for moving a diluted paint solution great distances. The suggestions for using pressurized bursts of paint have also been helpful. Thanks everyone!

Hey, I haven't been on Instructables in a while... anyways I was wondering if anyone would be interested in an 'ible about buying, using, cleaning and maintaining a blowgun? I haven't gotten an Instructable featured in quite some time, so I'm only going to do it if I see some interest. Thanks! --popewill

Anyone have any good airsoft ideas, devices, bombs, claymores, or other things to help you get the upper hand in an airsoft war, because I'm getting owned by higher fps guns with a faster rate of fire. Any sort or non toxic smoke bomb would be nice. Just post anything related to airsoft here...

How does the explosive in the round move the bullet? Is it just a quick bang and the shockwave gives the bullet a quick "kick", letting its momentum carry it down the barrel? or do the expanding gases continue to push it down the barrel? If it is the latter, doesn't there need to be a (reasonably) airtight seal between the chamber and barrel to stop the gases just escaping out the sides?

I'm looking for a laser that is button activated and a sensor that reacts to the laser. Basicly I want to put the laser in the barrel of a broken bb gun and make the button so that when you pull the trigger the laser goes off. Then I want to make a circle with the sensor in the center and when you hit it with the laser you hear a sound. Now I am wondering where I can get a laser and a sensor that responds to it. the laser can be visible or invisible I don't really care. Also does the sensor respond to any laserbeam or is this specific? Thanks in advance, Michel

It's a small robot and it needs to shoot marbles, its a combat robot, so it needs to shoot with high velocity and the shooting mechanism needs to be automatic. It should keep shooting marbles until the motor, or something else, stops any ideas on how to make this mechanism.Just like the one in the link below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8sBvgOQHX4

Fling, chuck, toss, throw, shoot, blast, or launch SOMETHING in the Launch It Contest that, erm, launches on May 27th. We’ve seen pumpkins get chunked and marshmallows get shot, but now we want to see what you can launch and how you get it airborne. Share a step by step, photo, or video Instructable to win a variety of flying machines that would make Da Vinci crap his pants in envy. Not sure how to get started? Try one of these ideas: some sort of cheese, cracker, and cold cut disc shooter called “Launchables” a mechanism for slinging DVDs of the Matthew McConaughey vehicle Failure to Launch outdo the Philadelphia 76ers t-shirt cannon

Ok, I'm kinda looking to gather some general statistics related to people with a DO-It-Yourself/Constructive/Experimental personality. To a degree it has to do with left-handed/right-handed issue, but I want to take other traits and preferences into consideration. Please humor me and give me some details. I'll post my results and possibly a few guesses as to what they mean. 1)What kind of grades do/did you recieve in school? (A,B,C,D,F) 2)Are you right-handed, left-handed, or fully ambidextrous? 3)What types of books/articles do you read? Novels, How-To, Socialogical, etc. 4)Are you multi-lingual? 5)Were you raised in a one-parent or two-parent home? Other? 6)Do you consider yourself an optimist, or a pessimist? 7)Are you religious/spiritual? 8)WHat is your one greatest priority in life? 9)With most of your projects/experiments do you: succeed, fail, quit, procrastinate.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a K'nex gun that had 2 triggers, one for shooting grenades and one for shooting rods. If anyone has ideas please tell me of if it already has been done give me the link.

Hello Everybody, I would really love to make a k'nex gun that shoots far (90+ feet?) and with a good look, I found some guns, like IAC's Heavy Crossbow, but I have not enough knex for that one, I made the OSSR-2, but it kinda failed, etc. So could you please help? Greetings, Bobbienator

I know I have not asked questions like this for a while.... but I just wondered if any of you guys can figure this one out for me.I've had this on my mind for quite some time now. I've always wondered of the advantages and possibilities of using the roller coaster tubing from k'nex sets for different purposes. Imagine what k'nex guns in the future would have. The tubing has many different uses, such as:comfy grips for handles,new/advanced tactical rail systems, tranquilizer darts for k'nex crossbows/shotbows,gun/body designs and many other things.Unfortunately, I don't have any k'nex sets nor do I own any tubing. Frankly I can't carry out these ideas, someone else will have to do it. If they want to make these ideas exist. whoever does make instructions, I would be more than happy to give credit. I'm just giving ideas for the plausible uses of roller coaster tubing, that's all. I WILL NOT TOLERATE CRITISIZM OF ANY KIND TOWARDS COMMUNITY QUESTIONS THAT I POST.I DON'T CARE IF IT'S POSITIVE OR NEGETIVE,WHETHER IT IS DIRECTED AT ME OR MY QUESTIONS.IF I SEE ANY OF THIS GARBAGE I WILL START DELETING COMMENTS.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Ok. So my birthday is coming up, and I want to get either a Nikon D3100 or a MacBook Air/Pro. I really can't decide which one I want more. I love photography and I don't have a DSLR, but I would also love a MacBook and I would probably use it quite a lot. I do already have a desktop, but I also have a point-and-shoot. I really need your help on which one I should get. Thank you in advance.

Last week I was away from Instructables HQ to work on a catalog shoot for a Major Fashion Line. I work periodically as their tailor, altering the clothes to perfectly fit the models.(That's why they never look the same when you wear them!)I'm not really authorized to go into detail about the company or the shoot (since it's for their upcoming Fall Catalog), but I thought it would be interesting to share a few quirky details, and some photos I surreptitiously shot with my phone. As previously stated, all of the clothes are altered to fit the models. Sometimes this means taking things almost entirely apart and putting them back together in a smaller (or bigger!) size. Also we do things like sew pockets shut so they won't disrupt the line of the garment. Did I mention we do all of this work out of a motor home?If the clothes still look weird when the model's in a certain position, they'll use big binder clips to secretly adjust the clothes to look right. And all of the clothes have big slashes in the them or are stamped with the word SAMPLE so no one will want to try and steal them. All of this stuff is corrected on computers before the pictures go out.We call it "fixing in post." I'm a big fan of "fixing in post."Here's something I definitely shouldn't tell you.On the first two days of shooting, it was raining like all get out. We waited and waited for it to let up to get our outside shots, but it just didn't!So everyone braved up and we assembled the whole crew under tents and umbrellas and shot in the rain. The pictures looked gorgeous! But as a result of this, the rest of the week had to be shot as "rain shots." Of course, for the next week it was sunny and warm. So they hired someone to come and make it look like it was raining!Doing these shoots is a lot of fun. I love going on location and having to deal with whatever elements arise. (There are usually a lot of police involved for various reasons too. . . )Hope you've enjoyed this top secret behind-the-scenes look!

Well, I finally got around to it, the ipod was destroyed based off of suggestions from this forum: https://www.instructables.com/community/Im-going-to-destroy-my-ipod-touch-how-should-I-d/ Sorry for the bad quality, I couldn't use my moms video camera. I still am going to stick it in the microwave, in a fire, in acid, then sell on ebay :D

Okay, so I got an ipod touch from my friend for thirty bucks, 3rd gen, with a broken touchscreen. About two weeks later, (I'm not sure how exactly) the logic board got fried and now all it does is rapidly overheat. So, the screen still looks fine. I don't know exactly how many votes I'm going to get, but I would sure like to have some suggestions, any input would be great. I will post pictures of the un-damaged ipod when I get ahold of my mom's camera. I AM DONE!!! https://www.instructables.com/community/I-destroyed-my-ipod/
