Pinhole Camera in Human Skull

This pinhole camera is housed in a 150 year-old skull. Not only is it a creative place for a type of camera which can go pretty much anywhere, but the craftsmanship is so good that any claim of utter ghoulishness is discarded. Awesome stuff. Pinhole Camera Fashioned From 150 Year-Old Skull

How strong is the human skull? What material can simulate its strength?

I been experimenting with projectiles, and been wondering what can I use to simulate a human skull. I've been shooting at a 1\2 inch thick peice of wood board, the projectile made it all the way through easily. When aimed at someones head, do you think this could peirce the skull and damage the brain, or do you think the bullet will just get stuck? How strong is the human skull anyway?

How can I make the horns on my ram skull less dull in color? They're kind of gray/bland...? Answered

I have a ram skull which I found & defleshed. It's pretty incredible - the horns span almost 3 feet. But their sheen is pretty blah. When wet they have a gorgeous rich color - is it possible to make this color come out when dry?

Method for "extrapolating" a skull from a 3d model of a head?

Forensics teams can "estimate"/"extrapolate" a face from a skull, so what my question is would it be possible to do this in reverse? I have been playing around with the 123D apps and i was already planning on making a 3D model of my head with 123D Catch for both the purposes of having a nice 3D model of my head and also so that i might be able to create a "form" , probably with 123D Make , that could be used to create masks that actually "fit" my face, so i was thinking, with the 3D model of my head could i "extract" even a basic model of my skull from it? And if so , does anyone have any ideas on how i might go about doing so?

Carve and cast moulds

Hello I was wondering if anyone was interested in buying the molds I created to make the cast and carve chocolates in my instructable. It means you don't have to go through the pesky business of carving or making our own molds to end up with some fun chocolates.. or you could use something like plaster and end up with some nice casts.

Soooo... How 'bout that Cubic Zirconia, eh? [Most Likely DANGEROUS]

So I was just browsing Wikipedia when i fell upon the page about Cubic Zirconia. It turns out, that the basic principles of synthesis don't look all that complicated. So I was wondering, if anyone knew of any plans for a small skull crucible that were floating around the net.. I probably wouldn't use it for zirconiua, seeing as it needs around 2700 degrees Celsius to change structure (this is the dangerous bit), but it might be a fun introduction to induction heating. Also, it's a pretty awesome way of eliminating the need for a refractory when melting stuff (keeping a solid layer of the material as a shell instead). I think I could build most of the parts, but i don't know what frequency, how many windings and such would be needed for the coils. Also, if anyone knows of any other risks than the obvious burn hazards, I'd be thankful if you'd tell me before i go off and get killed trying to make this. Let's discuss! :D (Also, Skull Crucible is just about the most awesome name for anything ever).

What is the best way to have a clean looking flame thrower on the back of my bike?

My bike is a standard mountain bike and I wanted to give it a more custom look than my paint job. I thought the best way to do this is to add a flamethrower to match my custom paint job which will be a red pinstripe around the flame, when the flame itself is grey. The flames will have skulls airbrushed in it. The rest of the body will be black with a little red pinstriping action. Maybe even some lettering reading : "Beast". probally with the same skull and red paint scheme. I want the flamethrower to fit in with everything else well, but I don't want to change the frame much, or paint the flamethrower.

Need some room decor ideas.

My room is boring. I can do anything but paint the walls (we rent) But I CAN cover them floor to ceiling with whatever I wish. I've been looking for some kind of interesting pattern. I like bats and skulls. (realistic of both) But skulls are so overplayed, and bats seem like a far stretch to decorate with. I'm pretty artistic, and awfully handy with making stuff (especially for a 15 year old, been building my whole life.) I have a large piece of flat cardboard that backed a John Lennon Poster I recently bought, and a piece of black foamboard. I plan on taping, cutting, painting the cardboard (probably a bat design, I'm just recently getting into them) and drawing another bat on the black foamboard using silver sharpie. Sooo.... any design ideas you guys have for making things, such as any kind of wall hanging would be nice to hear about.

SkullCandy Headphones

Is there any other way of doing this? or maybe basically removing the glue somehow and adding some other type of glue to make it stick together? Thanks guys... =DD

Why does spray paint sometimes come up off the painted surface when the surface has been primed?

I was making something to hang up on my wall, a thin metal logo of the skullcandy skull. the peice of metal was free of rust. So I primed the surface and let it dry. spray painted it and then the paint was going crusty-ish and was peeling of the metal. I don't have a picture now, but i will upload a picture later.

Image notes at bottom of image don't show caption

The final image on has an image note that reaches to the bottom edge of the image, which means the caption (positioned below the mouseover box) falls off the bottom of the image and can't be read.  A little "smartness" in caption placement would sort this out- if the note is within a short distance of the bottom of the image, place the caption to the right instead. I can't remember if the old image layout did this as well but I don't see why the layout change would have caused this bug.

Happy Hallowe'en!

Hallowe'en has started in the UK, and, as the night progresses, the trick-or-treaters are getting older and and uglier - around dusk, we get the fairies and wizards who need their parents to reach the doorbell, as it gets later, we get the small gangs of friends, later it will be the teens who are pretending they are trick-or-treating ironically, but really they like the candy just as much... A new twist this year - our candy has small sticky rubber rats and spiders mixed in, or you might get a plastic skull-ring around the stick of a lollypop. As the darkness reaches your part of the globe, tell us; what's the best or weirdest costume you've had to your door this year?  Got to go, there's the doorbell again!
