I am desperately searching for a DURAMAX XP 10 000 E GENERATOR, Carburator

Our Generator Broke down in the middle of the 4 day THANKSGIVING SNOW STORM of the north east. Our Repairman helped us get it going, but stated, he was unable to find a Garburator. I believe he called all his professional contacts. I wanted to try to see if any of the tinkerers  , and geniuses, had any ideas whom to ask, and would be so kind to share this information with me? Thank you so much in advance for your kindness SparkySolar/Rima

Annoying cursor movement when formatting is used

This bug has probably been documented thoroughly, and nearly every single person who writes an instructable must know it by now. When you use italics or bold (I'm sure there's more) when writing, the moment you backspace it goes to the (most previously written) italicized font and backspaces it instead. When you're still writing the word (or phrase) it goes to the back of the word. For someone who is in the middle of writing a massive instructable documenting nearly everything I know in Microsoft's shell scripting, it's very annoying every time I use italics to distinguish between normal writing and code, only to have to rewrite it after backspacing one of my typos. You can recreate this (assuming it happens for more people than just me) by adding a comment, licking on the rich editor, writing some stuff, write in italics and then backspace. I'm using Google Chrome, and I don't think screenshots would help here. Thanks.

Australians! Urgent help needed!

Hi everyone! I don't really know what category this should be put under, if anyone think it's in the wrong place feel free to move it. I am a guy from Sweden who are backpacking around the world and I am currently in Perth, Western Australia. I'm going abroad to Laos tomorrow and I will stay in south east Asia for about a month and then come back. My problem right now is that I have some luggage (extra clothes and camping gear) that I need to store somewhere during that time. I called a self storage company a couple of days ago from Coral Bay and booked a locker at their facility, however they forgot to mention that I needed to be there before five p.m. when the office closes even though I explicitly asked if I could come by later since I would arrive with the Greyhound bus. Does anyone know any fairly cheap (the lockers in the airport cost 8$ a day, and that is a bit too much) place  that is open at this time, or even someone in the area who could could spare some space for about 1/2 cubic meter of luggage until I come back? If so, please contact me asap either here or on 0405682652.

Please read: An urgent appeal from Instructables member The Ideanator

I’m an I'bler. Like the thousands of others who write and publish Ibles, I have tons of fun doing so, and I can tell you, I wasn't expecting to get this big. I am finally adding more Ibles and other things to my profile, to build a resume, and to develop my semi-technical writing skills. Since I've joined, I've had over 37,100 total views, my goal is to top 40,000 by new years. Instructables, in all its glory has produced some incredible view totals. It’s a stretch, It would take about 500 views per day overall to get there. Please help me get to that 40k total, its as easy as peeking through my I'bles. The Ideanator Instructables member. I need to change my instructable URL urgently

URGENT: How can I get the URL of my instructable changed? It got shortened to https://www.instructables.com/id/Soundproof-Your-Garage-Walls-Using-My-Cleat-Meth/At first I thought the ending was just annoyingly funny. But ironically I am a teacher, and the school server blocks it, because it says "Meth"! Hilarious and not at all funny. : <I've tried changing the instructable name, but the URL is apparently already set and indexed, so it requires someone official to change it. Pleeeze!

URGENT Need Hard Drive Converter Recommendation SATA --> IDE

My parent's laptop took a crap on them. I'm 60% sure it is hardware related (well, not the HD that is).Unfortunately, they never backed up their photos and our family trip to Mexico is on there (the photos :P). What really sucks (kinda) is that the HD is SATA. It sucks because I don't have a SATA enclosure (but I do have an IDE).So do I go with a SATA to USB2 converterSATA to USB2 converter -- or a SATA to IDE converterSATA to IDE converter? This is urgent because I need to determine if its the HD or some other component so that it can be sent in for warranty repairs. Crossing fingers that its some sort of hardware.

KinectV2 stops working with KinectFusion (URGENT!)

I asked someone  and he said:"If I'm not mistaken, the Kinect scanner has a fairly low maximum polygon limit. Maybe you're running out and it's stalling?" so how can I get the polygon count higher? everyone seems to do it easily, but mine stops working after the initial scan.

Urgent! Please "donate" some pictures!!

I've done a photo instructable on some tips on photography and now I have a new idea for another photo instructable. I'm planning to do one on lighting, exposure, sharpness, and possibly composition. The problem is I don't have that many pictures to use for this. I'm looking for people to "donate" some pictures, preferably of food but almost anything works, for me to edit and possibly critique it as well. Don't worry I will credit anyone willing to donate and I won't be too harsh if I were to critique it  :) :) Please help! I know it's late notice but I would love some by the end of tomorrow! Any "donations" will be greatly appreciated!! Please leave the photo in the comments or a link to it otherwise. Thank you!

Comment Tracker

When I check my homepage, I notice that by putting my mouse over the "Youv" I get a small menu of options. One of the options is "Comments." When I have new comments, it will say "Comments (x)." I really like this feature, I find it useful, but I am having a problem where it will say "Comments (2)," but I have only one new message. This is not a very urgent bug, nor am I sure it is even a bug, but it would be much appreciated if it could be fixed or amended in the near future. Thanks.

Info button doesn't work for widgets in Dashboard and Dashcode (Snow Leopard) - VERY URGENT

I have a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard and on my user account (admin) only, the info button (the little "i" that takes you to the back of a widget) doesn't function in widgets in Dashboard and Dashcode.  I have tried deleting the preference files for Dashboard, but to no avail.  I have also tried reinstalling Dashboard (not the whole OS, just the application) from the disc, but that didn't work either.  The info button works on all the other accounts, but not mine, so can't be a system-wide problem. Does any one have any idea what the problem could be and how I could solve it?

Feedback on Website

Hi there, I work for a startup called Swifto (swifto.com) and I was wondering if some people would be so kind as to answer a few questions about our site.  We are looking for initial impressions, so don't worry about going too deep.  This is all about the front page. Anyway, here are the questions.  Looking forward to hearing from you! 1. What do you think we do? 2. What aspect of the site confused you? 3. Does anything make you reluctant to use us? 4. What do you think of the design? 5. What would improve this site? 6. When was the last time you needed something urgently and what was it? P.S. - The black rectangle in the preview is actually a YouTube video.  If you want to watch it, go to our website: http://swifto.com

making a USB music device

For my next shop project I started looking at music devices. at first I wanted to create electric synth music. but then I thought up simpler things. like: why not have a box that can hook into a computer using a usb port... and then with computer softwear, assign certain sounds to certain buttons on the box. for instance. 1)first I would plug the usb thing into the PC. 2) then, I'd open up a pc program that could assign which music tracks would play when certain buttons are pressed, touched,or connected. 3) last, I'd have fun with the device preferably, all the data would be stored inside the usb drive along with the music samples. any Ideas? this is urgent! only 2 more weeks left in school!

Pen / Art supply roll from old jeans?

Hi! I've got a pair of sturdy black jeans that are too damaged to wear anymore, but there's still plenty of material to work with and I'd hate to throw them away. I also urgently need something to hold my countless pens and pencils for my art class, so I thought I'd solve those two issues in one go. The thing is, I have zero experience with sewing. So it would be absolutely GREAT if someone could post an EASY instructible on how to make a pen roll out of old jeans, you know one of those that holds each pen seperately (either in little pockets or with rubber / denim loops). Thank you guys in advance, Lisa

Laptop External Screen Problem

My Dell Latitude D820 screen broke today. I have no idea how, because it was in a car, and worked fine when I put it in, and was cracked and full of lines when I took it out. I never realised how flimsy the screen was ,or how prone to breaking. I will get the screen replaced next week, but my problem right now is that I have to do some urgent work on it, and as I cannot see anything on the laptop screen, I plugged in a desktop screen in the back, but it does not work. Nothing happens. The power light on the desktop monitor just keeps flashing, and I have tried everything from re-booting to inserting the interface when the laptop is on - but nothing works! I understood that if you wanted a bigger screen, all you had to do was plug in a bigger screen and forget about the laptop screen - but this does not seem to be the case! Help!

Vibromotors and GPS turn by turn navigation

Hello, for one of my university courses I have to develop a prototype that give turn by turn signals to a person by means of vibromotors. First I would like to say that my background is mechanical and I have no idea whatsoever of electronics or software. My full Idea (Don't know if feasable) is to use the turn by turn information of a smatphone navigator that uses GPS (like the one of google maps) to activate one of two vibromotors, there would be one vibromotor on the right arm and the other on the left, if a next turn is needed to be made (info from the navigator) a signal will be send to the the motor on the left arm, It will vibrate and let the user know that this next turn needs to be done. I need urgent help since I don't know which components I may need and how to develop the software or anything I will appreciate any hint.

Fire alarm!

This afternoon a couple of guys from the Mexican restaurant next door came up our stairs and asked how to get to the roof. They said something about a fire and smoke and it being urgent. We pointed them to our fire escape which has a ladder to the roof and then, for some reason, they lost interest and left. We were wondering if, you know, this was actually important or something when the fire engines started racing towards our building. So we looked out and two fire engines with ladders showed up along with 6 other vehicles and a total of about 25 firemen. It was on! The two ladders extended up to the top of the building where some smoke was coming out and a fireman climbed up to take a look. Fortunately, it didn't look too bad as none of the other firemen went up. Within about 15 minutes they started packing up and left. Just another day in downtown San Francisco.

Hello Everyone, I need help urgently, I'm a graphic designer plus an instructor and my tools of trade are Photoshop and Illustrator. Last Monday I had a road accident and got my right hand fractured. I've resumed my job but having lot of difficulty in working and teaching. Although I'm a right handed person. I am still managing to use mouse with my left hand now problem is only mouse is not enough to work on these softwares. I was wondering if any one can design a simple strip with three buttons having functions of  "SHIFT, ALT, CTRL" and can be connected through USB and I will stick that strip on my plaster near fingers of right hand. So that I would be able to work properly. I only need a PCB designed so that I can hire someone here in Pakistan to make this for me. HELP! Can't get a render working for the "Design For Robotics" contest!

Hi, I'm a young creator in secondary school and have recently uploaded an entry (Strider: Bio-inspired Home Security and Automation) to "Design for robotics". However, I have been unable to display a 3D model of the robot. I was previously able to render a file (either an FBX, STL, GLB or 3MF- it was a while ago, so I have since forgotten). I was sent an Email in response to my entry saying that they would be making changes to the renderer so it could show sketchup models. However, I since tried to upload both a SKP and DAE file and both failed to be displayed. To qualify for the finalists, you need to upload a render or you won't be viable for selection. I have put a huge amount of effort into my model, and it would be a shame to have it disqualified on a technical. Please give any advice if you can or help me directly fix the problem, I will be hugely thankful.

Pirate Station Robot Helmet

Hello everyone! Name's DJ_DAN. Just need some URGENT HELP! I just saw some videos of a Drum & Bass Festival called Pirate Station Network. It's robot head design really got me, and I like to make a fully wearable DJ  helmet with animated LEDs for the eyes, and a black grid-ish metal mesh for the mouth. Something like this: http://www.featurepics.com/FI/Thumb300/20100216/Black-Metal-Grid-1460869.jpg And really basic animations for the eyes, like fading in & out, flashing, standing still, etc. The base could be made from fiberglass or mabye carbon fiber. The eye "lens" maybe could be made from plexiglas or something like that. And the "headphones" could be the part of the helmet, with built-in headphones. I just slighty edited the design of the original PSN robot helmet, which looks like something like this: http://www.4shared.com/photo/3miIkBII/robothelmetdesign.html PLEASE! I just want to know who could do one for me or at least how could I start to make the helmet! PLEASE HELP! (And sorry for my English...)

The end is Here ?

This is an urgent call. I think the world would really come to an end because of the increase in natural disasters around the world. I think the world would certainly come to an end with a huge tsunami. Since the effects of global warming is here, within 5-10 years i am afraid to say that the world would certainly end. So do you think this is possible ? Thats why me and a couple of my friends are thinking of making a safehouse or ship where we could be safe in case of a tidal wave or other natural disasters. The problem is that we do not have any clue of what we are doing. i am thinking of making a anchored kinda ship which could acompany 5 people each. This ships would contain oxygen tanks with supply of about 2 years, food and safe drinking water wit seawater purifer, necesary tools and items, survival supplies and other necesary things. This ship should contain an onboard motor engine which could enable the ship to move in water. This ship should atleast protect the passengers from a big tsunami. It would contain a 5 passenger seating with folding beds and solar panels which could also power the engine and equipments inside. i really wanna build this because it's a fun project and could protect peoples lives who are poor and could not afford to go on a boat or are in low lying areas. So what do you think?

Seeking help on Instructables to finnish projects elsewhere !?

You might have noticed lately that the amount of new users seeking help in the forum sections is going up quite good. I might be wrong, but I thought these sections are to help members - members being defined as people being active here with more than asking questions. For some of the more detailed ones I did a few searches on the web and noticed projects very closely related to questions here, both in the terms as posting dates. On some days I already think Google was closed down and this site does it now LOL For some reason I fail to see the benefit (other than for the thread starter) of solving these newbie problems. We never see an Instructable coming out of it, never see the user back to post something useful for others.... My personal favourites are kids seeking advise on their love life or those asking for urgent help without providing any details at all. However, the worst are those that won't even come back to say thanks or mark the question as answered. And did I mention those creating multiple accounts and still asking asking the same questions they irgnored until then? LOL Sometimes I refer to a Google search, sometimes I just ignore the topic.... Would be nice to see some membership numbers, like Users with 10 or more Instructables Users with 1 or more Instructables Users active in terms of posting something Users that have been not active for more than a year

Fastest you have ever been.

I have a car, but no permit or license. One day, my brother told me to bring him something while he was at work. I was driving down the street going the speed limit or a little over and under. I turned onto the main road Speed limit, 50mph, and just went 50 or so the whole way. and when i got back onto the highway, this guy is following me to my bumper basically, so in the non passing zone just getting on i am going about 25mph, as you are getting on it is 35mph limit, as soon as it reaches 50mph, i jam the gas, it goes into passing gear and in no time i am doing 80mph. and on an S-curve still doing 80. On the stretch i am doing about 60mph, and decided i should just stick to the speed limit. Got a story? A Nice Morning Drive It was a fine morning in March 1982. The warm weather and clear sky gave promise of an early spring. Buzz had arisen early that morning, impatiently eaten breakfast and gone to the garage. Opening the door, he saw the sunshine bounce off the gleaming hood of his 15-year-old MGB roadster. After carefully checking the fluid levels, tire pressures and ignition wires, Buzz slid behind the wheel and cranked the engine, which immediately fired to life. He thought happily of the next few hours he would spend with the car, but his happiness was clouded - it was not as easy as it used to be. A dozen years ago things had begun changing. First there were a few modest safety and emission improvements required on new cars; gradually these became more comprehensive. The governmental requirements reached an adequate level, but they didn't stop; they continued and became more and more stringent. Now there were very few of the older models left, through natural deterioration and . . . other reasons. The MG was warmed up now and Buzz left the garage, hoping that this early in the morning there would be no trouble. He kept an eye on the instruments as he made his way down into the valley. The valley roads were no longer used very much: the small farms were all owned by doctors and the roads were somewhat narrow for the MSVs (Modern Safety Vehicles). The safety crusade had been well done at first. The few harebrained schemes were quickly ruled out and a sense of rationality developed. But in the late Seventies, with no major wars, cancer cured and social welfare straightened out, the politicians needed a new cause and once again they turned toward the automobile. The regulations concerning safety became tougher. Cars became larger, heavier, less efficient. They consumed gasoline so voraciously that the United States had had to become a major ally with the Arabian countries. The new cars were hard to stop or maneuver quickly, but they would save your life (usually) in a 50-mph crash. With 200 million cars on the road, however, few people ever drove that fast anymore. Buzz zipped quickly to the valley floor, dodging the frequent potholes which had developed from neglect of the seldom-used roads. The engine sounded spot-on and the entire car had a tight, good feeling about it. He negotiated several quick S-curves and reached 6000 in third gear before backing off for the next turn. He didn't worry about the police down here. No, not the cops . . . Despite the extent of the safety program, it was essentially a good idea. But unforeseen complications had arisen. People became accustomed to cars which went undamaged in 10-mph collisions. They gave even less thought than before to the possibility of being injured in a crash. As a result, they tended to worry less about clearances and rights-of-way, so that the accident rate went up a steady six percent every year. But the damages and injuries actually decreased, so the government was happy, the insurance industry was happy and most of the car owners were happy. Most of the car owners - the owners of the non-MSV cars - were kept busy dodging the less careful MSV drivers, and the result of this mismatch left very few of the older cars in existence. If they weren't crushed between two 6000-pound sleds on the highway they were quietly priced into the junkyard by the insurance peddlers. And worst of all, they became targets . . . Buzz was well into his act now, speeding through the twisting valley roads with all the skill he could muster, to the extent that he had forgotten his earlier worries. Where the road was unbroken he would power around the turns in well controlled oversteer, and where the sections were potholed he saw them as devious chicanes to be mastered. He left the ground briefly going over one of the old wooden bridges and later ascertained that the MG would still hit 110 on the long stretch between the old Hanlin and Grove farms. He was just beginning to wind down when he saw it, there in his mirror, a late-model MSV with hand-painted designs covering most of its body (one of the few modifications allowed on post-1980 cars). Buzz hoped it was a tourist or a wayward driver who got lost looking for a gas station. But now the MSV driver had spotted the MG, and with a whoosh of a well muffled, well cleansed exhaust he started the chase . . . It hadn't taken long for the less responsible element among drivers to discover that their new MSVs could inflict great damage on an older car and go unscathed themselves. As a result some drivers would go looking for the older cars in secluded areas, bounce them off the road or into a bridge abutment, and then speed off undamaged, relieved of whatever frustrations cause this kind of behavior. Police seldom patrolled these out-of-the-way places, their attentions being required more urgently elsewhere, and so it became a great sport for some drivers. Buzz wasn't too worried yet. This had happened a few times before, and unless the MSV driver was an exceptionally good one, the MG could be called upon to elude the other driver without too much difficulty. Yet something bothered him about this gaudy MSV in his mirror, but what was it? Planning carefully, Buzz let the other driver catch up to within a dozen yards or so, and then suddenly shot off down a road to the right. The MSV driver stood on his brakes, skidding 400 feet down the road, made a lumbering U-turn and set off once again after the roadster. The MG had gained a quarter mile in this manner and Buzz was thankful for the radial tires and front and rear anti-roll bars he had put on the car a few years back. He was flying along the twisting road, downshifting, cornering, accelerating and all the while planning his route ahead. He was confident that if he couldn't outrun the MSV then he could at least hold it off for another hour or more, at which time the MSV would be quite low on gas. But what was it that kept bothering him about the other car? They reached a straight section of the road and Buzz opened it up all the way and held it. The MSV was quite a way back but not so far that Buzz couldn't distinguish the tall antenna standing up from the back bumper. Antenna! Not police, but perhaps a Citizen's Band radio in the MSV? He quaked slightly and hoped it was not. The straight stretch was coming to an end now and Buzz put off braking to the last fraction of a second and then sped through a 75-mph right-hander, gaining ten more yards on the MSV. But less than a quarter mile ahead another huge MSV was slowly pulling across the road and to a stop. It was a CB set. The other driver had a cohort in the chase. Now Buzz was in trouble. He stayed on the gas until within a few hundred feet when he banked hard and feinted passing to the left. The MSV crawled in that direction and Buzz slipped by on the right, bouncing heavily over a stone on the shoulder. The two MSVs set off in hot pursuit, almost colliding in the process. Buzz turned right at the first crossroad and then made a quick left, hoping to be out of sight of his pursuers, and in fact he traveled several minutes before spotting one of them on the main road parallel to his lane. At the same time the other appeared in the mirror from around the last comer. By now they were beginning to climb the hills on the far side of the valley and Buzz pressed on for all he was worth, praying that the straining engine would stand up. He lost track of one MSV when the main road turned away, but could see the other one behind him on occasion. Climbing the old Monument Road, Buzz hoped to have time to get over the top and down the old dirt road to the right, which would be too narrow for his pursuers. Climbing, straining, the water temperature rising, using the entire road, flailing the shift lever back and forth from 3rd to 4th, not touching the brakes but scrubbing off the necessary speed in the corners, reaching the peak of the mountain where the lane to the old fire tower went off to the left . . . but coming up the other side of the hill was the second MSV he had lost track of! No time to get to his dirt road. He made a panicked turn left onto the fire tower road but spun on some loose gravel and struck a tree a glancing blow with his right fender. He came to a stop on the opposite side of the road. the engine stalled. Hurriedly he pushed the starter while the overheated engine slowly came back into life. He engaged 1st gear and sped off up the road, just as the first MSV turned the corner. Dazed though he was, Buzz had the advantage of a very narrow road lined on both sides with trees, and he made the most of it. The road twisted constantly and he stayed in 2nd with the engine between 5000 and 5500. The crash hadn't seemed to hurt anything and he was pulling away from the MSV. But to where? It hit him suddenly that the road dead-ended at the fire tower, no place to go but back . . . Still he pushed on and at the top of the hill drove quickly to the far end of the clearing, turned the MG around and waited. The first MSV came flying into the clearing and aimed itself at the sitting MG. Buzz grabbed reverse gear, backed up slightly to feint, stopped, and then backed up at full speed. The MSV, expecting the MG to change direction, veered the wrong way and slid to a stop up against a tree. Buzz was off again, down the fire tower road, and the undamaged MSV set off in pursuit. Buzz's predicament was unenviable. He was going full tilt down the twisting blacktop with a solid MSV coming up at him. and an equally solid MSV coming down after him. On he went, however, braking hard before each turn and then accelerating back up to 45 in between. Coming down to a particularly tight turn, he saw the MSV coming around it from the other direction and stood on the brakes. The sudden extreme pressure in the brake lines was too much for the rear brake line which had been twisted somewhat in his spin, and it broke, robbing Buzz of his brakes. In sheer desperation he pulled the handbrake as tightly as it would go and rammed the gear lever into 1st, popping the clutch as he did so. The back end locked solid and broke away, spinning him off the side of the road and miraculously into some bushes, which brought the car to a halt. As he was collecting his senses, Buzz saw the two MSVs, unable to stop in time, ram each other head on at over 40 mph. It was a long time before Buzz had the MG rebuilt to its original pristine condition of before the chase. It was an even longer time before he went back into the valley for a drive. Now it was only in the very early hours of the day when most people were still sleeping off the effects of the good life. And when he saw in the papers that the government would soon be requiring cars to be capable of withstanding 75-mph headon collisions, he stopped driving the MG altogether.
