This is it, the most durable knex lightsaber ever imagined. Each piece doubles up the next creating a blade that will not bend nor break, even with high speed collision. The hilt (figure 2) is also quite detailed considering this is made with knex. The only con to this is that the blade doesn't retract. If you like what you see then tell me. I will make it an instructable if asked.

Digital imagery website worth1000 is running a Star Wars contest where entries must start as classical works of art, with a Star Wars theme edited in.It's well worth a look.(As an aside, I am still suffering the bug that won't let me post threads in the normal way - I had to post this in the feedback forums, then edit the classifications)

Star Wars Uncut used the power of thousands of fans to recreate the original Star Wars, 15 seconds at a time. All of the clips have been gathered together at the website, but the soundtrack is being held up by legal issues. Still, that didn't stop the creator, Casey Pugh, from winning an Emmy for it. An Emmy! It hasn't aired, but since it was made for broadcast it was considered eligible. Congratulations to Pugh and all the folks who contributed! Star Wars Uncut — Emmy Winner

In the poster for the new game Halo Wars, try to find the mistake. I'll give you a hint: look at their guns. As many people know from reading the Halo series of books and the video games, that before the battle rifle is introduced, all but one Spartan are wiped out on Reach, or trapped inside of Onyx. You, as Master Chief, are introduced to the BR55HB SR Battle Rifle in Halo 2. The Spartans were all wiped out before Halo 1, well before the Battle Rifle is even conceived by its makers. What gives? Why would they make such a serious (to me) mistake on a widely distributed promotional product?

Who all went out and bought Halo Wars expecting it to be the greatest RTS ever? I kinda did, and when I first played it, it wasn't all I expected. I love the Halo series, but Halo Wars really let me down. After much thought, I tried to think of what it would be like to have the Flood in it. I mean, the Flood is basically the reason for Halo. That's the reason the Forerunners built the halo rings, to help destroy the flood( Technically their food, but you get the idea.). It would be so much more awesome to be able to play as an infection, killing enemies, and making them your own. Then Halo Wars would be rated M, ( Just like all the other games!!!), Making it fit better in the series. If you agree, or disagree, please post your comments and opinions, but any inappropriate or mean comments will be deleted.

What if one movie intro was reimagined in the style of another artist? In this case it's the style of the late great Saul Bass who did many amazing title sequences like Vertigo or The Man with the Golden Arm.This is cooler than Episodes I, II, and III combined.via Drawn! And then there's the deluxe remix version as well.

In the past couple days not one, but two AT-AT music players have popped up. One in black and one in lovely spraycan gold. While each one is worth checking out, I just have to wonder if the second one, the gold one, was really put together over the weekend as a response. AT-AT boombox Golden AT-AT iPod dock

I found some scrap brass lying around and wanted to make something steampunk. The only metal I had lying around was brass. I found a 6 in. shaft that was just begging to be a lightsaber. I attached a male coupling to one end the shaft, and a female coupling to the other end. It sort of has a steampunk vibe to it. Right now the only material being used is brass and I have not permanently attached anything. I looked at a bunch of lightsaber tutorials for ideas but I want to keep the steampunk aesthetic. Do you think this is even a good idea?

The From Bricks to Bothans Forum is dedicated to LEGO Star Wars (great games, btw) and they're having a contest to reimagine core vehicles from Star Wars... in LEGO... and in a steampunk style. It's a mash-up triple play that makes a geeks head explode with shimmery bits of silvery stuff and apparently it's really happening. There are even a couple of entries including the X-Wing below. Entrants have until Jan 31 to enter. Prizes include LEGO kits. Linkvia Neatorama and Super Punch

There was a set of videos in YouTube that showed how to make an awesome storm trooper out of trash cans... Unfortunatly I don't have access to YouTube at work or at the local library... and have a convention I want to wear it to this friday... If someone would watch through it and post an instructable that would be great... or at least post the item list here and I can figure it out from there... I just really want to have it done by this weekend. Also, TO COME -> GONK COSTUME (I made this one myself, and it turned out great)

OK, Ill admit it, I'm a nerd. I'm a Star Wars fan, and I got a new den that I want to geek out. I have a museum-quality X-wing fighter that I want to display on a counter top (&&&). The piece has a display base, and a acrylic post that the model sits on - and through which three wires go up into the model and illuminates the outer engines, and numerous cockpit fiber-optic display bits. It is uber-cool to look at in the dark. 8-) But I want to fab a custom display base that ROTATES so the model does a slow 360 revolution over, say, a minute or so. But I also want to KEEP the lights. So, my puzzle is this.. How can I fab POWER RINGS, so that my model can display its lights as it revolves? -Or- Is there any way I can hack some kind of cheapo commercial wireless power conduction thing, so that I dont really NEED hard wires at all. I can rig some rechargeable battery pack onto the rotating display base, and something that transmits the power on the table-top base (that doesnt rotate). To be clear, the motor that does the rotation OF the base I can wire directly to the wall, But for the LEDs built into the model, I figure I need maybe 40mW of DC power that I want transferred to the batteries on the top to juice the model while turned on. I get this idea from my Wii wireless controller recharger. I only have to put the controllers onto a special plate plugged in to the wall when not being used, and they recharge. With this, SOMEHOW, power is getting to the batteries in the charger *without* being directly wired to the charging adapter. Anyway, since everyone on this site is a genius, I know the can give me an idea or two. HELP ME GET MY GEEK ON. -Dave &&& If you're interested, it's the eFX Collectibles RED FIVE X-Wing Studio Scale model,

My Favorite is probably the most famous Star Wars quote of them all, "No Luke, I am your father", its also a famous plot twist, so whats your favorite Star Wars quote?

In this forum topic, the main idea is when and where you'll want to host a water war. Here, we talk about space issues, location, time of day, etc, as well as the design/construction of things that can be installed, like mines, bases, trenches, sniper nests, and turrets.

I was wandering if there would be any interest from you all in a K'nex war during this summer holiday, it would probably end up being around Birmingham in England. If there is much interest then we can arrange a date and location for it.

Follow the money. War profiteers have no morality , This weekend take the time to listen to a vet. Just listen, let them tell what war was like and the discussing how they have been treated when they returned. The art of listening with your ears listen to their voices. Eyes what are you seeing in the faces? look real close to their eyes. What are you feeling in your heart ?

It's got some strong language, but I find it very well done. !Strong language in places & he doesn't like it, at all. Erm, not really suitable for children, I'm thinking again about this, but maybe no one young will go past 5 min...? The new movies are about shoving as much crap into each shot as possible www.slashfilm.com/2009/12/17/watch-this-70-minute-video-review-of-star-wars-the-phantom-menace/

Yes, the title is correct. This site has collected cover art for printings of War of the Worlds from the past 110 years from around the world. It's a fascinating collection of artistic interpretations of H. G. Wells' classic book. Some of the aliens are menacing while others are cute and cuddly or look like a Disney character on acid. One lazy artist even put the USS Enterprise on the cover. WTF? War of the Worlds of the Worldvia Core77

When I entered the lobby of our movie theater after watching the funny (yet disgusting at times) Zohan movie, I caught a glimpse of this trailer. At first, I thought it was a cartoony parody of starwars (perhaps a joke in that Panda movie, all I saw was Yoda). This could not be serious, the animation looked like something straight out of the Incredibles. After some investigation I discovered it was totally cereal. It is a trailer for a 90 minute long preview of a cartoon network series. Who would pay to go to the movies to watch a 90 minute preview?! This is the description of the youtube video:The 90-minute premiere episode of the CGI animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars will have a limited release in U.S. cinemas starting August 15th.Not only will this be the first 3-D animated movie for the highly-successful saga, but this will also be the first Star Wars movie not released through Twentieth Century Fox. Fox released all six Star Wars movies, plus the original microseries The Clone Wars on home video. But Warner Bros. and Turner Broadcasting will release Star Wars: The Clone Wars this time. The principle reason is that Turner's and W.B.'s subsidiary, The Cartoon Network, managed to snag the rights to the series from creator George Lucas.Star Wars: The Clone Wars on The Cartoon NetworkThe new series will premiere this fall on The Cartoon Network, later airing on TNT."I felt there were a lot more Star Wars stories left to tell," said George Lucas in the press release for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. "I was eager to start telling some of them through animation and, at the same time, push the art of animation forward.""Nothing like this has ever been produced for television," said Stuart Snyder, President/COO Turner Animation,Young Adults & Kids Media. "For 30 years, Star Wars has shown that it appeals to a huge breadth of fans. Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network will be appointment television for everyone in the family. We're thrilled to be working with Lucasfilm again and very excited to be playing a role in bringing this remarkable adventure to viewers."The Star Wars we all know and love has been reduced to a cheap cartoon, made with the sole purpose of trying to squeeze as much money out of the name as possible. Star Wars looks like a cheap joke now, it's just sad, really.
