I'm making doll heads from polymer clay. They measure approx. 6-7 inches around. I need to make a long dark brown wig for my heads. I have plenty of hair, but it isn't attached to anything. I need to know how to make a wig for my doll heads attaching it to a cap. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you
I have been searching around looking for a tutorial on how to create an extreme wig hairstyle similar to Ophelia Overdose's wig stylings. Example I have seen a lot of tutorials about adding hair to existing synthetic wigs, but I haven't seen much on creating large gravity defying hair that includes curls.

Hello All - I am attempting to repair an Emergency Dash Light for a friend of mine. It has blue LED lights it is similar to the one pictured in this link: http://www.1topstore.com/product_info.php?language=en¤cy;=USD&products;_id=11981 Initially the unit had all 4 LEDs burned out I fond a source for them and replaced same all worked fine. After reassembling the unit I discovered in final test that the controlling chip went bad. I think the chip is a EEPROM at least the package is a DIP-8. The device has a function select push button and there are 4 flashing formats; wig-wag, flash twice wig-wag, all steady on; all on flash. Any suggestions?

Hey every one, huge making project coming up for me (in terms of time, not size) because I'm going to SMASH! Cosplay Convention, Sydney, Australia in August 2010. I'm going with a group of friends from my school as Vocaloid characters and I get to be Kaito! Would any one else in Australia be going? Any way, it should be awesome and I'm excited like hell even though it's 9 months away. I'll keep every one posted on how the out fit's going, I'm going to see if I can get the wig off eBay next week. Then we're all going to Spotlight (fabric store) a little after christmas to get a tonne of the same fabric, but different colors for each character. Then I'm doing the scarf, then the pants, then the undergarments and then the coat. Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated, I'm not amazing at sewing but it should turn out alright, I'll probably start the coat about 6 months from now because I don't want to grow out of it before the convention! By the way, any tips on dying my hair / getting a wig of bright blue? And also, dying my eye brows? (God, this'll look weird at school...) Update #1 18/10/2009 More pictures. I've added some drawn pictures (mine) of my design, you can see the front and back here. First picture: Another cosplaying Vocaloid group, but no Gakupo or Megurine Luka. I'll be the one at the back left. Second picture: SMASH! convention logo.

Hey everyone, Not sure how many of you would have thought about it but there's a kickstarter project that reached it goal a while ago called 'wig wag'. Wig wag is more or less just home automation. I really like the idea, but hate the thought of paying hundreds of dollars for something that is definitely not worth that much. Mainly what I'm most interested in doing is automate lights to turn on after a certain time due to a motion sensor. So when I walk into a bathroom at 1am, red LEDs will turn on (as they don't affect your eyes like white light does so you'll still be able to see). There are some other things that could be cool, such as these lights not turning on if there is a certain amount of noise in the house (if I'm awake or maybe even if lights are on?). I'd be using LEDs I'd have some kind of 12v adapter rather than cracking into light switches in my wall. I'd also rather not buy a wifi powerpoint adaptor, (something like http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Power-Supplies/Electrical-Timers/BEF7C027AU?catargetid=1402860417&cadevice;=%7Bdevice%7D) I currently have a raspberry PI and and happy to use it for this but would probably prefer to buy an arduino but I have no experience with this. I have virtually no knowledge on coding so please forgive any ignorance and please give me your patience! It would also be lovely to have some sort of web server to be able to control it all. Thanks everyone, your help is really appreciated. Pete

Want to make a mermaid tail of paper plates. Saw it in a magazine...the plates were cut in half and overlaid so the scalloped edges made the "scales" . Don't know if the tail should be constructed first then attached to the rest of the costume - which I haven't figured out yet either but am thinking either a long dress or a leotard top and tights, seashell "bra", Lady Godiva wig, seahorse earrings, etc. - or if each plate should be attached right to the costume. Separate tail seems easier and to make and easier to get around in. Should they be stapled? Sewn together? Maybe a little of both! Has anyone made such a thing or have ideas on how to do it? Never too soon to start building that next Halloween costume. Many thanks!

Hey Instructables Community! I am in charge of moderating the contest entries for the Halloween Contests; this is to just clarify some things in case you are wondering why you were rejected from a contest. -------------------------- You cannot enter the same Instructable into both the Epic and Easy Costume Contests. If you are not sure which one to enter, go ahead and enter both and I'll make the call. You cannot enter the same Instructable into both the Decorations and Props Contest. Props relate to costumes while decorations are simply decorations. Any Halloween Photo Instructable qualifies for the Halloween Photo Contest. Food can also qualify as a Decoration. If you have a Costume with an awesome Prop, it would be best to post them in different Instructables so you can enter each in its corresponding contest. And don't forget, you can enter up to 3 contests, so read through the contests descriptions when you go to publish and enter any and all it qualifies for! You can enter each contest as many times as you want! The Contests: Epic - Costumes that take more than a day to make if you were to work on it that whole time, we're looking for something that is EPIC! Take a look at the current entries for an idea of what we're talking about. (If you are rejected from Epic it doesn't mean you don't have an awesome costume, it just means we're looking for something more EPIC.) Easy - Costumes that take about a day or less to make. Props - Something that is part of a costume (meaning, worn or held), including, but not limited to: facepaint/makeup, hairstyles/wigs, swords/sheilds, and masks. Decoration - Something that you would not carry around including lawn and home decor. Photo - Any Halloween Photo Instructable Food - Anything that is food that relates to Halloween Any Questions? Please leave a comment here or PM me, I'm happy to help out :)
