Using the Wiimote on Vista

I've been trying for a while now to link a wiimote to my pc as a mouse/game controller/ect. I have been using bluesolei for bluetooth to link them up. I have only so far managed to get the computer to recognize the wiimote with bluesolei. I have bluesolei running and I'm holding down on the 1 & 2 buttons. Then I opened up one of the test scripts in GlovePie and my computer crashed instantly. I had to do a force reboot to get it back to normal. I tried using the GlovePie program several times, each one resulting the same as the first. I'm not sure if it is because I have Windows Vista, or I screwed up somewhere.

Installing bluetooth driver for WiiMote?

I have purchased a Wii and generic Bluetooth dongle. I can not get the computer to recognize the Wii. I am running Win7 and the Device Manger sees Bluetooth Radios, with Generic Bluetooth Radio and Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator but I do not have any apparent software interface to recognition the Wii itself. I have spent hours and hours attempting to contruct IWB scenerios to no avail. Research shows that the bluetooth technology can be problematic. Are there any know issues with Win7? Amy

EyeTracking (with Wii )... !! possible?

For those who are thinking to themselves "Jonny Chung beat you to it long time ago".... Don't jump to conclusion. I'm here to use his idea and give it a little twist. (if its possible that is) So let me know if this is worth pursuing... because i'm sure someone must have thought of this already... I'm also nowhere close to being a developer... with that said lets jump into what i want to call Basically i want to use our EYES to reflect Infrared to the wiimote to calibrate the movement ... and capture it and do something cool with it...    -  steer a car in a racing game...  -  look around in a 3d environment  just by moving ur head...  -  maybe even use it as a mouse and Wink with one eye to click? im waiting for a friend of mine to find time to build me that IR LED board Jonny Chung used in one of his videos. IF anyone thinks this is something to look into, I would like to be notified.

Can this be converted as a shield with Arduino?

I've scrapped a broken Nyko wii perfect shot which I don't care about now so then the only thing this has is this port which is a wii nunchuk port with a male port to stick the wiimote on I've tested it with my guitar hero WOR Guitar and it still works well, now my question is this is even possible to reverse engineer this and turn it into over to Arudino and use it as a usb controller port with Nintendo's Wii Classic Controller?

Xbox 360 PC Output Emulation

I was wondering whether there is a way to make a PC output xbox 360 signals through its usb port. I want to get a wiimote to work with an xbox 360, and since I can already control a PC using glovepie and a bluetooth adapter, wouldn't it be possible to take the wiimote input through the computer, convert it, and feed it directly to the xbox as if the PC were a controller?Sure beats doing this: http://obsiv.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!948789BF56FAF394!177.entry

Has anybody tried dying a Wii-mote rather than painting?

I saw the color Wii straps with RIT dye Instructable (https://www.instructables.com/id/Color-Wiimote-Straps/) and was wondering if anybody had yet tried taking apart the Wii-mote and dying the plastic rather than painting the surface? if they had or have any suggestions please let me know.

Can someone recommend some Wii games for my two-year-old? Answered

We just bought a Wii (thanks to the $50 price drop) and are having a blast, as expected! I'm wondering if there are any games out there suitable for a two-year-old so she can play, too. Nothing complicated of course, just something where she can wave the wiimote around and have something interesting happen onscreen.

Wiimote Head Tracking -- Nintendo: Please do this!

Johnny Lee did it again! Head tracking with the Wiimote! From his blog:"Using the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs), you can accurately track the location of your head and render view dependent images on the screen. This effectively transforms your display into a portal to a virtual environment. The display properly reacts to head and body movement as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space. "I really hope Nintendo looks into this -- even though it only works for 1 person. After all, most games are 1-player, and those games are the ones that would best use this feature. If I had a bluetooth adaptor, I'd play around with this some, but, alas, I do not. However, this and his other projects would work the same with a video camera that has an IR filter.Funny, Sony really didn't take enough advantage of thier EyeToy, if it was IR-only, they would have been able to do more...

If you are interested in what i am doing with my wii check it out ( http://www.wiinode.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4280 ?... ) As you can see with my site i have a screen that uses 9v and i need it to be used along with the wii (so i only have to carry around ONE plug in) i have my amp wired to my wii using 5v and it works great. I need my screen to work alongside my wii. Ive tryed a 9volt battery before but some reason i get a blank screen but my ps1 7v power connector makes it light up good.when i plug 5v on the screen it leaves it very dim. There is 12v also there are alot of 5v points and some 3.3v points on the wii, could i combine them in some way to recieve my needed voltage or use the 12v? anything thats not to costly or spacey (need my smallage so i can have a small case) and please dont post about me NOT needed to do this thank you. if you need more info say so and ill update the question. I KNOW THE RISK INVOLED WITH WHAT IM DOING!please also note that pics are old. Just giving them for info purposes. Please ask me if you need any other details. :) thank youEDIT: fixed the link.

Just read Aeshir's b***h-fest, I can top that

Lightning hit my tree, everything that is wireless and powered in my house got knocked out permanently, this includes: flat panel tv, 2 CRT tv, nintendo wii, wiimotes, every cordless phone, every clock radio, and my cheapo routereverything that was unplugged and without batteries in them was fine, also things that are not wireless are fine, there was no surge or anythingI don't know how badly it affected my neighbors and finally, some picshttp://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t31/frank26080115/Lightning%20Strike/?action=view&slideshow;=true
