Weird cable? Answered

OK so im wondering if this on the market (a little back story) Im building myself a home media center using an old pc and xbmc. I'd like to connect to my TV through HDMI so i can get full 1080p video from my media center the only problem being is that my old pc doesn't have an hdmi port only a dvi, so i was wondering if a cable or box existed that could combine the dvi from the graphics card and audio from the headphone port into HDMI allowing me to simply plug the other end into my TV.                                       --------DVI (female from graphics card)                                      /   HDMI (male)<---------                                     \                                      --------Audio from PC (female from little green hole by usb slot on the mobo) Something similar to that, preferably cheap otherwise I'll simply pick up a new $50 card from Newegg.

How do I set XBMC (running on pi) to automatically open an add-on on boot?

I'm currently building a Raspberry Pi powered Pandora Player running on XBMC and the Pandora add-on for a friend and I want this to go directly to Pandora add-on when it boots. I've been doing a TON of Google-ing to try and find an answer to my problem but I cant seem to find any documentation on how to do this for the pi. I have found plenty of articles for windows and other OS's. Help on how to go about this would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot.      Harry

How to remove horizontal scanning lines when computer is connected to an LCD tv?

Connected an older Audiovox LCD TV onto a desktop computer running Ubuntu. The computer ran well enough displaying to a normal LCD monitor, but once connected to the TV, there is a constant pattern of translucent lines running across the screen that scan up from the bottom. I've tried adjusting the "Clock" and the "Phase" of the TV to no avail, and ubuntu doesn't seem to have any refresh rate adjustments available other than 60Hz... so yeah. Need help here, trying to make an XBMC/linux file server/ media center...and a media center with a bad display just isn't right.

Projection TV, all in one entertainment center

I have been playing around with the idea of a rear projection TV as a full all in one entertainment center. As most know rear projection TV's are large and very hollow. My idea is to add a mini-ITX motherboard, a Hard drive, a webcam, 2 USB ports on the front, an IR reciever, and a multi-microphone array. I may also add IR emmiters for use with a will remote, audio ports for a surround sound system, Light sensors to adjust brightness. My TV also has a Memory Stick reader that i want to use for the computer instead.  The motherboard and HDD fit in the base just right with plenty of room to stack a few drives if needed. and there is plenty of room for other accessories if needed. There is a door on the front of the TV with an extra input, with space for USB Ports. The IR reciever for the TV I think should fit a second. If not I will use some sort of repeater to split the input between the 2. although the TV's remote may not be needed at all. The Micro ITX board I have been looking at has a mini PCI port with a laptop style WIFI card, I plan so get some of the antennas used with a laptop and mount them as close to the top as I can get them. and maybe add a bluetooth/wifi card as well. The camera will be an internal laptop camera mounted at the top. The light sensor will be mounted ether on the front or on the top. (I think front will be better.) The microphones will be mounted on top near the camera. One on ether side. Thats the easy stuff. The hard part I want is for the computer to turn the TV on and off with itself. This requires something that will look at the state of the TV. (using the power LED inputs) and close the power button for a second if it needs it.
