How to make a "Yes" "No" gadget

Okay i'm looking to make a gadget so that pressing a red button makes it say "No" and pressing a green button makes it say "Yes". How would I go about making such a thing??? I'm presuming i'll need momentary switches of some kind. Thanks for any help :) Note: this is for a guy who is autistic and won't speak. It will enable him to be able to have an opinion by just pressing the button

I believe it is a commonly known fact (<--I assume) that most organisms capable of doing so exert some form of cry when exerting force. What cry do you use most often? When lifting? When celebrating? When charging into battle? When slaying that enemy in a video game?

Kitewife, she says YES!

Many years ago, my father rallied a Mini.Twenty-three years ago, I learned to drive in a Mini.Twenty-two years ago, I had my first crash in a Mini.I courted Kitewife in a Mini. Now, after literally years of subtle hints, requests and outright begging, Kitewife has agreed that I can have another Mini. A proper one, not a BMW.OK, this isn't going to be instant, probably months away, but I am uber-excited about it, so I thought I'd come a and brag about it.All I've got to do first is fix up the Megane to a saleable state - replace the spoiler, the wing mirror, buff out the scratches, pull out the dent in the door, then sell it, then raise about a grand extra ...... ah, what the heck, she said yes!

The Magical "Carry-on" Jacket, a Yes or a No?

Here’s a link, go take a look double fast comrades. http://www.scottevest.com/v3_store/Carry-on-Coat.shtm the zine "Ready made" decided to send me a copy of their Feb/March issue with an interesting article Pages 45-55 bare a article purposed to make you a better, faster, more efficient traveler. Page 53 and 52 describe the wondrous story behind a supposed "Wonder jacket" designed to replace air travel carry-on, which as we might remember, are growing increasingly heavier in fees and tags. The fruits of Scott Jordan's (an avid traveler and designer of the "Carry-on Jacket") laboring attempts to combat these fees glow proudly as his "Carry-on Jacket" comes to life. Much like a backpack, this jacket, and the many like it (like the one linked above and others on that website) have dozens of dozens of convenient pockets for all sorts of possible storage arrangements, ranging from spare change to I-pads. But how do they look? This all sounds like a great traverse breakthrough, but its totally useless if you look like a bloody tourist (which can be dangerous). Does anyone have anything like this, are there other brands. Does anyone have one in particular that they like? I need someone other than my magazine to vouch for it, or something like it, especially with a price tag like that. what about durability and comfort?

Calling All Programmers (Yes, ALL)

Every now and then in typing class, our teacher will give us a handful of letters, and we're given about 5 minutes to come up with as many words as we can from these letters. So today I thought... what if there was a program where you could input a string of letters, and it would spit out as many words as possible that can be made out of those letters. A quick Google search was less than fruitful. So, to the more techier of my fellow Iblians, how would you go about writing a program that could do this? I'm thinking something where you input a string of letters, and then it scans, say, an online dictionary, to find as many words as possible from the inputted letters. Sound doable?

Posted by Labot2001 10 years ago  |  last reply 10 years ago

Can you see the strings? ("Yes")

You may have seen on the news that a Dutch chap claims to have flown under his own power from a standing start. Watch the video... I don't buy it - I think that... those wings beat too quickly to generate enough lift (compare to the beat-rate of much smaller swans, eagles and condors) the wing membranes don't show enough sign of being under load - they're too loose and flappy. the wings look the same on the down- and up-strokes the upstroke should push him down, because the membrane doesn't close up like a bat's wing, or let air through like a bird's wing. In fact, I reckon he's on strings. What do you think? UPDATE Thanks to those comments from The Usual Suspects - so it's a fake after all. I ought to point out, as well, that the BBC had been reporting this on their website as well, but the story has mysteriously disappeared in the last few minutes (I didn't provide the BBC link, since most non-UK readers are able to see video on their site).

Yes Men talk at MIT - 10/26/09

The Yes Men are speaking at MIT next Monday, October 26th, in the Bartos Theater in the Media Lab (E15, on Ames St).  Wish I could pop over, but it's a long trip - if you get to go, share your thoughts. Why do you want to see this talk?  From the posting: The Yes Men have an unusual hobby: posing as top executives of corporations they hate. Armed with nothing but thriftstore suits, The Yes Men lie their way into business conferences and parody their corporate targets in ever more extreme ways – basically doing everything that they can to wake up their audiences to the danger of letting greed run our world. The Yes Men were featured in the documentary, The Yes Men Fix the World, which won the Panorama Audience Award at the 2009 Berlin Film Festival.

The answer is (almost) always YES! - AKA Kiteman's Law

There is a fairly regular kind of thread that appears here.It starts should I make an Instructable about insert topic here? You know what? The answer is yes. Even if nobody else on the site is even vaguely interested in insert topic here, it is probable that somebody with access to the internet, somewhere in the world, will eventually develop an interest in insert topic here and resort to Google. Since this site is googlable (is that a word?), they can end up here, grateful to you and potentially a new and useful member of the site. So, unless it breaks the guidelines for what is suitable here (basically, Please remember that this is a family site), and you're not just re-inventing the wheel, then the answer to should I? is always yes.

Is there a quiz program to answer with yes or no that is compatible with a arduino uno.

I have a question about a project for school with a arduino uno. I have one arduino uno and 4 servo motors and 2 LCD displays, and some jumpwires (male and female) What i want to create is a race course made out of wood and i want to use the motors as levers. You can play this game with 2 players and the purpose of the whole game is to reach the finish earlier than your apponent. To this game i want to add educational quistions with yes or no as a answer. When a guestion is answered right the levers should open. If you answer a question wrong the levers should stay closed. I also want to make sure that if the player reaches the finish some LED lights blink. Is there a quiz program that i can use or could you help me make my own quiz program ? could you help me. Kind regards, Nassinho.

The big list of things that I hate. (yes, I'm feeling down)

The big list of things that I hate (inspired off of Keith Kid's "50 things that I hate"): - Waking up at 7:00 AM - Mom hating rap - Going to school - Nobody seeing how awesome Maddox is - little computer time - even less time to play with knex - even less knex to play with (well, I don't think this applies anymore, thanks to berkin.) - Mom - Dad - Pep rallies - Football games - Wait, I think its all sports on TV. - Rain - The 80's (It has a weird relation to pep rallies) - The fact that everything on TV sucks - My uncle never coming over anymore - Foreign languages (Ironically, I am half asian) - People asking me to speak Chinese - The fact that I left KI off this list. (yes, this is a joke) - The Jonas brothers - Oh wait a minute, I think it's everyone who works for Disney, not just the fail bros - Halloween - Mondays - The fact that I sweat too much. - The fact that I am bored - Myspace - Facebook - Twitter - The fact that Biggie and 2pac are dead - The fact that I don't have an xbox to play halo on. - Mom threatening to cut my internet off - Cops. - School - The fact that half the stuff people tell me is stuff that I don't give a crap about. - Dogs and dog owners. - The fact that I don't have money to make my own site where I can post this list. Now that I got that out of my chest....

What would you like to see in a Knex gun?

I've been thinking about making a good knex gun (and actually posting it).  Now, if you'll read this all the way through, I have a few choices for you. I've divided them into categories and sub-categories. I want you to choose one choice out of each question in the category, and I will attempt to make a gun with the most-voted-for features. Of course I'll make it look nice, it will be sturdy, etc. Now, onto the choices. It will be a ram/firing-pin gun. Stock: Connector or Rod? Ammo Storage or no Ammo Storage? Mag Storage (Yes/No)? Body: "Connector-WhiteRod-Connector" or "Connector-GreenRod-Connector"? Barrel: Tube or Connector? Mag: Removable (Yes/No)? Internal Pusher (Yes/No)? Turret: Yes or No? (It's this or a magazine, but I might be able to fit both in there somehow if someone wants that.) Mechanism: Simple True Trigger, Pump, Bolt-Action (Not recommended for connector ammo, but possible), or a Combination (such as the Logic Bow)? Handle: Simple with Wheels, or something like Mepain's Knexsayer handle? Handle Connections: Should it connect to the stock, barrel, etc? Built-in Chainsaw: Yes or no? It'd be similar to a Lancer. Guards: Trigger Guard (Yes/No)? Handle Guard (Yes/No) Foregrip Guard (Yes/No)? That's all I can think of right now. Just copy/paste that form and fill it out in your comment. Thanks for taking the time to read this and comment with your suggestions.
