I am using the embedd code that youtube gives, and when I insert it into the instructables editor I can see an outline of where the video has been inserted. When I preview the page the video does not display, not even an outline. Does anyone have any ideas of what is going wrong?

Hey, look what I got after trying to send a message to another Youtube user. It said something about an internal service error 500, or somethin' like that. Highly trained monkeys? LMFAO!!!!Here's a link to a bigger version of that picture. And, because I'm bored, a funny video!

In this https://www.instructables.com/answers/how-to-transfer-static-energy-to-electrostatic-mot/ There are three replies. When I viewed the 'ible BEFORE clicking on Iceng's video, I could see the replies, now, AFTER viewing the video, anytime I review the page I can ONLY see the video.....

YouTube videos imbedded on instructible pages only provide audio. The video is black but the audio plays as expected. The pause stop and play function work normally. Just a black video with sound. Imbedded videos work on other sites like Make, hackaday, and hacked gadgets. I assumed it could just be my iPad, but I just did a restore to factory setting and am in the process of reloading data and apps when I noticed the videos still don't work. Thanks iMega

Hey! I'm running a little competition. I want you to create a youtube background for me. Winner will get a subscription and 5* on 10 of the selected 'Ibles. What it needs: 1. To be like a grass background with a ball on it, 2. To be not taken with a digital camera, 3. Look professional, 4.Have my name (TomBuckey) in white running down the left edge. The reason I'm asking you to make one is simply, I can't.

A couple days ago we made a group on Youtube for the Launch It! entries. You can check that out here:http://youtube.com/group/launchitSo now we decided to go and make another group for ALL of instructables. That one is now here:http://youtube.com/group/instructablesTo add a video to either group all you need to do is join the group and then click the "Add to Groups" link under any video you want to add. There are just over 30 videos in the group now, but there are many more videos to be added so add a few if you have the time.

Now that I am 13, I am old enough to own a YouTube account. I will now use this feature to show my knex guns and whatnot. But there will be no pictures as that doesn't work. I will be back in action soon. And btw the pictures are knex guns that have never been seen before, but are in my library. I also included this shell ejecting mech:/https://www.instructables.com/id/Knex-Shell-ejecting-Bolt-action-Spring-loaded-ma/

So, I've been trying to upload my video instructable for a good half hour now. I've checked other youtube topics and I have tried using the new AND the old embed code. Neither work. Whenever I go to save the site just completely stops working and I get the "null" url. I then have to go back to the main instructables site manually where a "unsupported video host" sign pops up. Any ideas? Help would be much appreciated.

I made a short how-to video as an entry in the Honda DIY contest. I've been wanting to experiment with some more short-form videos and will be making a couple of tweaks to this one. Feel free to give me any feedback. Also, if you could rate my video up that would be great! :)

Well as some people may know already, my activity on this site has dropped to an all time low. I stop by and look only once every few months now. I've addressed this in a few comments but I might as well post it here for the whole community to see. No, I haven't gone to college yet, I'm just a junior in High School still. Over a gradual period of time my hobbies and interests have shifted tremendously. As a side hobby some of you may remember that I used to make halo videos showcasing forge world maps I made. This has grown into making montages, and I've grown into a somewhat professional editor well-known by a lot of Halo's competitive community, even though I'm not too good at the actual game. Because of my shifting interests (I honestly have not felt like touching knex in months) and the fact that Ibles doesn't support my new hobbies, I've basically moved to Youtube now. Quite a few iblers who used to be my original subscribers have for some reason stopped watching my videos (and actually fallen off the face of Youtube and ibles), but If you want to keep up with me and what I'm doing feel free to subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/user/DjRadioIbles?feature=mhee PS: this site has changed so much since I last visited. I barely recognize it anymore. My /you page hasn't been able to load for the past year and a half since these changes. I've also probably missed many comments dating back from June. I'm sorry I haven't talked to you, but Halo and Real life have basically taken me off the site. Like I said, I might still make something out of knex if I get a holiday or break later on. And no, I'm not leaving the site for good. I'll still drop by once every few months and look at how things are doing for nostalgia. I haven't abandoned you guys by a long shot. P.P.S. Do I still have the site's largest orangeboard?

Hi Everybody, I just tried to use YouTube's embedding code but the code wasn't accepted. Earlier, Youtube still offered their old embedding code for videos one wanted to embed. This code isn't offered anymore. Do you have any suggestions what to do? Thanks for all your help and support. Bob

OSX 10.9.3 Chrome 35.0.1916.114 When commenting on an Instructable, I pasted in a Google Plus link to an image gallery. Example: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/115623865677863239677/albums/6018347158014044929 This link was incorrectly assumed to be a youtube video and showed a broken youtube video as soon as I hit return after the link. This link was parsed as a youtube video as long as u/0/ was in the string. Any string that included "u/0/" was parsed as a youtube video and any string without it was parsed correctly.

So, when I went to Youtube one day, I watched a Rockband video. And I'm like... okay, why did this person put different music on the video? Then I realized it was on most youtube videos. THEN, my favorite Youtube account was suspended. Why was all of this happening? Copywriting. I mean, most people probably bought the song off of Zune or Itunes. Most videos that look awesome are ruined because of the earache-cheap-cheesy garbage youtube puts onto videos. I think we should start a boycott or someone should start a petition or something! Does anyone have any other ideas?

Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have embedded videos before but I posted a few new Instructables today and can't seem to get Youtube videos to embed. I tried the techniques on this page. https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-embed-a-video-into-Instructables/?&sort;=NEWEST&limit;=40 I also tried clicking the embed video icon and pasting the Youtube embed code into the box. It shows a flash box but when previewed (and published) there is no embedded video. For example, this step should have a video embedded. https://www.instructables.com/id/PWM-Fan-Controller/step2/PWM-Fan-Controller-LM35-Sensor-Overview/ I am sure I am missing something simple, I am just not sure what it is...

Hi! I am new to instructables and I have been uploading some video tutorials by embeding YouTube videos. The number of views in the instructables page is going up quickly but if I check my videos in my YouTube page I cannot see that there are that many views. Is there a reason for that? I have searched in the forum an answer for that but I cannot seem to find one. Thanks^-^

Hello! I had the idea of making a YouTube show promoting great tutorials and projects from Instructables about 3 years ago. At the time I didn't have the skills to create it. After taking up a short course in video editing and graphics, I was finally able to create it! I wanted the show to really help get the word out not only about Instructables, but also the world of DIY, recycling, re-using, creativity and the hands on building skills that many of us are losing because of the impact of new technologies. If the show motivates just one person who isn't familiar with Instructables to create something, I think it's a great success! Here's the first episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXky2Ot7cOg I hope you like it! There'll be more episodes to come! Thanks, - Nick PS. All authors gave me permission to feature their Instructables in the video.

I've been inactive for an insanely long time (was busy at anythingbutipod.com forums instead) and decided to come and check back. It seems to me like ibles has fallen almost as low as youtube, what with multitudes of hateful commenters and general negative feedback when people post their opinion. When I left, everyone was so nice! What happened to the be nice policy?

I wanted to ask for some advice and feedback on my youtube channel as well as some new movie ideas. First off my Youtube Channel is very special to me and i think with the right work and attitude i cant get to to go farther: my youtube channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/Thelostrolo. Why the name Thelostrolo? well i created the channel when i was 11 (now nearly 15) and i thought i might as well keep the name! (I am working a big hunger games related project which will be uploaded to another channel) I am not sure if i should create a new channel. but that would mean starting from scratch and trying to get recognition again, but maybe you guys could help!? Anyway back to my idea: I had a phew ideas and of course ill need help as i cannot film on my own! The first idea is a simple idea called: 'The Confrontation" which is a simple action thriller type movie with gun movie effects and explosions! THe other on was: "Never look back" a more serious film in which there is a kid who is bullied and one day is knocked out. He wakes up at home, but no-one was at home, so he decides to go out for a dog walk, he then comes across the bullies except they're afraid of him. etc etc and it ends with him finding out that he is not who he used to be! I could really do with some peoples feedback... not just because this took me a long time to type up! Also if you did check out my channel post your below and i might subscribe :D Thanks for the help Rowan Prosser- Rowans Movies - Thelostrolo RATE, COMMENT AND SUBCRIBE!

I was thinking about creating a can of RAWBERRY from the fake commercials of power thirst on youtube. How should I go about making a can (I'm thinking about using a Monster can. What I plan on doing is having the shell of the can be like a fake pen and shock people who pick it up to drink, so it will seem like it is made with REAL LIGHTNING! Any suggestions? I was thinking of using 9+ volts for a mild shock.

I am starting a DIY youtube channel dedicated to tech DIY's and homemade weapons such as ZednoughtAlpha or GreekGadgetGuru. I plan on starting up mid-late August and upload every one or two weeks for the time being. I need suggestions for projects to post or tutorials, I have a few ideas but I need more. Please refrain from troll comments. (that would be nice for once) Thanks for any suggestions, I will provide a link to the channel once it is setup.

The term "instructable" seems to have penetrated the public conciousness enough that people can appropriate the word to try and make themselves look legitimate.I came across this video on YouTube. It's a referral scam, but it calls itself an instructable!http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=a2-IK-8qKqkI have informed the user - (Link: http://uk.youtube.com/user/3ZCASH4U ) about his offence, but have had no response.Maybe other members would want to give him a piece of their mind?(I didn't have a associated image, so I've included this sneak preview of my next papercraft Instructable...)

I would REALLY like to see a feature added to Instructables that would mark projects that only contain a video as "video only." While I don't mind watching someone do something - sometimes that will help illustrate a point better than words ever could - for the most part I like to do this really weird thing called reading. I know in this day and age, the desire to read the printed word is seen as obsolete and old-fashioned, but surely I cannot be alone in this! If I wanted to watch videos, I'd go to youtube. 99.99% of the time, if I click on a project and it's only a video, I click off of it, but by then, not only have I wasted that time (albeit even only a few seconds), I have also increased that project's view count. Just my two cents, worth what it is in this economy...

Hey everyone! My name's Donald, I'm a former Project Editor with Make: magazine, and I'm starting up a new weekly video series called Maker Update. Each week I feature a handful of projects (typically from the Instructables community) that catch my eye, along with tips, maker news, and events. I'd like to know what you think, and I'd be grateful for some subscribers if it's something you're interested in. Thanks! -Donald
