NEED YOU HELP!! To all you out there...I have a FARM BELL..cast iron..I'd like to rig an electric motor with timer that would pull the rope and ring it every day at NOON. THANKS!!

Pneumatics are also an option. Just don't break that bell !!

If it's going to be in full exposure to weather, compressed air and low voltage is more forgiving than 120V.

How accurate do you want "noon"? Those 24 hr timers to turn on lights would do for timing, if accuracy isnt too important. Rather tough to set them to the minute, however.

The motor might compress a spring, which, upon release, strikes the bell. This gets more power in the instant of striking.

Doesn't have to be perfect. Rather than me(though retired) going out everyday to ring it...I'd like it automatic. LOL GOOD IDEA!!! THANKS!! My Mr. Peabody mind is still working on this!! I appreciate everyones ideas!!! Mike

It is a Cast Iron Farm-bell...it would have to be hit hard......from the inside..well...maybe outside and weather proof. :O) THANKS!!!

why not use a solenoid to drive a pin to hit it like an electric doorbell
