Best Use of Autotune Answered

By now everyone that listens to music has probably heard (or heard of) autotune. It's been used for years to polish up pitchy vocals. Now it's more recognizable for being used on a totally different level. Autotune is the effect that T-Pain, Hellogoodbye (and by now, way to many others) use. At this point most people agree that it's way over used and just plain annoying.

I have a poll to take. What song do you think actually uses it well? What's your vote for the Best Use of Autotune in a song?

Mine is Woods, by Bon Iver.

Epic! Haha, I love the second one. "That means the ocean"

Yeah Stevie Wonder and Kraftwerk did this years before....hope y'all realize - lookup "Stevie Wonder sesame street" or "trans europe express" on youtube.

Otherwise known as a Vocoder? L

Yeah, Vocoder and Autotune are the same.

I hated that Cher thing... L

i was going to mention that...i find it funny that the people using autotune now to INTENTIONALLY create what was an accident for cher don't really give her credit for making their music that much more annoying

. I don't know if he used Autotune/Vocoder, but Peter Frampton1 (eg, Do You Feel Like I Do and this) did/does some interesting stuff with vocal effects.

1 Great live performer, but, IMNSHO, most of his studio stuff sucks.

He used a talkbox for most of that, if he ever used a vocoder as well, I don't know.
