Leave the card in the camera and connect the camera to your PC. For whatever reason, some cameras have to act as an interface with your PC in order for the PC to read the data on the card properly.

I would run a disk scan on the SD card just to make sure. Its treated the same way that a hard drive is. In file explorer right click and click properties and then click the tools tab. Sometimes these chips get bad spots in them. It could have corrupted the data and caused the OS to pick it up as a different file format. Anyway its a long shot but something to try.
People forget that flash memory is not totally reliable. A USB drive can die at any time as can all the various storage chips. Always back them up or view them as temporary storage.

Open your raw file in an image editor and save it as a jpeg?

(Check your manual, you should be able to set your camera to store images as jpegs instead of raw.)

+1 And you can generally get 'cameraraw' for most cameras to convert them :)

Actually, I take that back -the manual doesn't mention raw data.  In fact, it only says that stills are recorded as jpeg (page 117).

I didn't bother to read that far into it - only high end cameras usually support raw...

It's possible the card is formatted the wrong file system, but then its odd the camera would have written to it.
