Controling DC motor with AC source, adding speed control? Answered

Hi, great lessons, would you be able to add a lesson involving AC as a source instead of batteries? And including speed control in it.

To power DC motors using an AC supply, you would just need to get a really large power supply to convert 110V or 240V AC to 12V or 24V DC, and it would need to be rated for a current value greater than your motor. If you have a 100A motor, you would want something like a 120A supply. You would need to make sure that whatever AC circuit you are plugging this power supply into can handle however much current the converter requires. This can also get very pricey.

Once you solve the power supply problem, its DC outputs would just be treated like the battery bank connections in the circuits pictured in this class.
