Cutting the trim around a steel sink Answered

I need some professional advice. I need to decide on a sink for my future apartment (under construction) and I don't have the choices I like. I really want an undermount sink with a satin finish - and it's hard to come around where I live  (South America).

I have found a satin finish drop-in type sink, and I am wondering if it could be cut to be used as an undermount sink. My question is, will the bowl of the sink warpif the frame is cut?

The sink I want to cut looks like this but without the strainer on the left. Red lines indicate how I would like to cut the sink.

Thanks for your time,

I don't *think* it will warp, but, if it does, fastening it firmly to a rigid work surface should force it back to its correct shape.

Hey, Kiteman :)

Thanks for replying. You're probably right! The plan is to use a concrete counter, the sink's edges will rest on top of that and then the granite rests over that. So, it would be sandwiched nicely and once the mortar sets it shouldn't be going anywhere!

Further input from this awesome community is welcome! :)

Hey man, it would be awesome. I'll try to do it, but the thing is I'm not the one doing most of the stuff and I'm also not present on the worksite 100% of the time due to work schedule.

I admit it's been quite some time since my last Instructable.

I've given attention to this site called flitetest.com that does Radio Controlled airplanes and stuff. Did some article writing there, but then I started working fulltime so I don't have the time anymore :(

I think the same as Kiteman.

If you live in South America, it is higly probable that you and me could chat in your languaje, better than English. I speak Spanish.

Gracias por tu comentario Osvaldo. Me ha servido mucho tu método para rectificar alambre :D

Lo que dice Kiteman tiene lógica. Haré la prueba, y les reportaré como salió el corte.

Gracias a todos!
