Derby Mini Maker Faire Photos Answered

The Derby Mini Maker Faire has now finished.

I took a *lot* of photos, and this is a selection, in a pretty random order - can you spot anybody you know?

I think we all (Gmjhowe, Rainbow Han, Jayfuu, PKM, Kitewife, Conker-X, Roger-X, and myself) thoroughly enjoyed it.  The atmosphere was really good, lots of friendly faces, lots of new friends (big shout out to Phenoptix, who was an event sponsor), and more members of Hackspaces than I have ever seen in one place.  I didn't see any sad faces, of any age - it's a sign of the times that there seemed to be a greater proportion of the visitors who had some idea what Making is all about, and loved the idea of Instructables.

The organisers did a very good job, looked after us all very well (I enjoyed the behind-the-scenes tour of the museum itself, and loved the pint of local beer we were treated to).  I hope they do another one - I'll be there like a shot.  I think we were all inspired with ideas for new projects.

One particular shout goes to "Pics to Knits", who have created a tool to turn digital images into knitting patterns.  Kitewife is already planning a project using their tools.

If you were there, and took any photos or videos, please add them in the comments...

Update: Blog entry by the yarn-bombers from Angel Eden, with some nice photos and a knitting pattern to boot: LINK.

I found these videos on YouTube

That is very cool, I like

What were the the two glasses of water with red tubes about?

If you mean this one, it's a small submersible.

DSCF6964.JPG This one ( sorry didn't realise I could drag your pics to my post ). Looks like  a couple of gin & tonics being sneakily consumed behind the scenes, at the same time I might add!

Wow, you don't get Lords like that anymore.

Kelvin.... "I wonder what will happen if I drip water through metal rings? Oh I generate electricity. Right time to lay the groundwork for the second law of thermodynamics then off to the House of Lords Library for a snooze."

He truly was the Kelvinator.

Does anyone know which instructable is for the paper chain hanging out of the window, if there is one?

See the link to Angel Eden blog in the posting.

Haha, I overheard the "Crew" briefing on the Sunday morning;

"Of course, Health and Safety is important, so make sure the gangways stay clear, and keep an eye on the London Hackspace."

Hehe - "Wacky Inflatable Arm Waving Charles!"

The javascript slider has broken on the photo navigation so I can't see all of your photos :(

I managed to look at them all in the end. There's some HTML missing that I re-added with firebug so I could browse them all :p Bug report submitted.

I don't see a forum topic - did you do it by email?

Props to the code monkey!

Somebody posted a video on YouTube (I've embedded it).
