Does AC power have a positive and ground like DC? Answered

I have an AC wallwart (yes an AC not DC) -- does it have a positive and ground like a DC wallwart?

Alternating Current (AC) does NOT output a positive voltage and a "ground" like DC does. The output of an AC source periodically changes (alternates) its direction along the conductor between a "positive" charge, and a "negative" charge. To gain a "positive" voltage and a "ground" (0 volts), the AC needs to be rectified. These web articles should help you understand the theory.

Please DO NOT try to use an AC wall wart to supply a DC circuit without using a rectifier between them.
