Dog Rawhide daily chew as leather? Answered

OK this is a disgusting in question, and I am not going to do this (cross fingers >:D)  but, I have some dog chews for my dog made of Raw hide (http://www.amazon.co.uk/HiLife-Special-Daily-Dental-Original/dp/B005ZF31II).
Will it act like leather? Can I wet mold it into a penknife holster without wild dogs chasing me through the woods?
Thanks :)
Sorry for all my odd questions...

haha not sure about wild dogs chasing you. However, yes it acts like leather in the sense that it is flexible when wet but becomes stiff again when dried. I have tried using it as rimming on one of my shields but the cheap bones are just too irregular in thickness to be used. If used in multiple layers you could make a form of leather armour i guess, keep in mind that it is kind of transparant.

cheers, knut.

ow and it becomes really hard and tough when dry so you cant use it for anything that needs to be flexible, I.E. clothing / wallets
