Verifying Age Using Face Recognition? Answered

Magazine photos fool biometric age verifier in Japan.

In their never ending quest to automate every aspect of human life Japan has recently installed cigarette vending machines that will scan your face to verify your age before giving you a smoke. Kids realizing that all the robot wants is some wrinkles have learned that all they need to do is hold up a magazine image of some geezer and then they can puff away.

It makes me happy to see that no matter how "advanced" technology becomes, there's often an easy overlooked loophole. Let's hope that trend continues.

OR BLOOD SAMPLES, FINGER PRINTS, HAIR SAMPLES, ID VOICE RECOGNITION sory 4 the all caps i forgot it was on. any way y dont they? because no system is unbeatable. and all posible combinatins of genetic traits are being used so its only a matter of time before someone looks just like you! granted most of the people who exist are dead now but still!

Wow thats a lot of work, I remember spending the summer in Colorado, and all you needed was a few Canadian quarters (( Ya American money was worth some thing then <> )) and they had vending machines, ex coke machines that would sell beer but that was a long time ago and times have changed... I guess us kids knew that if you had to many beer you might do some thing stupid and stupid hurts ....
