BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!

Apparently the crazy just keeps on comin'!

Oh man. Why do they have to ruin everyone's fun? I'm sure that we all have fond memories of protesting funerals in Tucson.

Sign... sign... everywhere nowhere a sign...

When a law like this is needed, it's sad times...  All those zombie marches won't be allowed to start within 300' of a cemetery, and really, a cemetery makes the most sense.

It's like there's no end!

I had a Spanish professor who was trying to explain the word "gringo" and likened it to the word "kike" as a jovial, descriptive term.  "A 'gringo' is a white American, and a 'kike' is a Jewish person.  They're not bad words."  I threw my hand up so fast I nearly popped my shoulder out of socket and quickly told him that "kike" was a bad, bad, bad word for a Jewish person.  He doubted me and apparently at the next dinner party he was at, he went up to a Jewish buddy and said, "Hey, kike!  How's it goin'?"  His buddy took him aside and told him exactly what I told him.  I'm kinda impressed this professor was willing to tell this story in class and inform everyone that "gringo" was not at all like "kike".  I'm still not so sure about that because I don't think "gringo" is generally used in a jovial, friendly way, but still he set the record straight about "kike".  I wonder if Sarah Palin will apologize or continue to liken herself to Shakespeare.

Hey, if we all sent him packets of Kool-Aid, do you think he (and his followers) would take the hint?

I dislike him as much as the next guy, but don't you think that's sort of, ah, meta?

I wasn't suggesting we put anything in the Kool-Aid! It might well be used for a happy family fun party....

Yeah, who suggested anything else? Must've been some crazy liberal reading way too much symbology into something completely innocent!

:-D

I think he meant crates of K'nex. There, that should stir things up...

Exactly! Just like all the misinterpretations of Ms. Alaska's "targeting" of congresspeople last year.

(Yep, that's what I'm aping.) Yeah, those are just targets! Crosshairs don't imply violence! "Reload" just means to, uhhhh...vote them out of office!

Yeah.

As the Resident Instructables Topekan, I feel obligated to point out that Topekans don't like him any more than the rest of you. He's been pulling this crap on our streets long before he started traveling.

That out of the way, it would certainly be nice if the media would just stop reporting on him. He's clearly in it for the publicity. The AP decided to go for a week without reporting on Paris Hilton a few years back; they need to do the same thing for WBC. Except longer.

You won't get a flame war. As far as I can see, most of the people who agree with him are related to him.

Some by marriage, there's also the Hockenbargers and the Drains. I've been in classes with all of them. David H. multiple times...ugh...

While I don't work directly in the media any longer, I still come into regular contact with people in that industry. I tell every news director I meet to just not report anything on them, exactly as you have stated. Really, that's about the only thing you can do with such a group.

With that said, I don't see how funeral protests are legal- and I'm a huge supporter of the first amendment. I think freedom of speech is the most important freedom we have, but that only gives us the right to be dumbasses, not to incite violence. So, thank God for the Patriot Guard.

Can't you have another civil-war?
It'd be great TV...

I think we'd need to hire the Argentines...

Argh, not this guy again.

I fail to understand how this group are still walking free.

Been there, done that. I'm guessing that shipping him a box full of human entrails via UPS wouldn't go over very well, thought it might make the point clearly enough.
