You may have seen these online selling for ridiculous prices

But it occured to me how easy this would probably be on arduino. Do any of you know what would be the bare minimum you would need to get this to work? I would assume you'd need them to connect to wifi, and just send a simple signal but I'm not quite sure how to implement this. Any ideas from those more knowledgeable in the particulars?

Thanks,

There's something about this concept that I find incredibly touching.

I need a doorbell that works similar to this. A light that lights up in my room when people ring our doorbell or knock on our door because if my door is closed and I'm with headphones drilling into steel... That proximity sensor or whatever it is, is a great idea so people don't have to touch it so I get notified. Just get close to the door!

For your doorbell you could run some wires off of your doorbell speaker that also power an LED light in your work shop area when your doorbell is being pressed.

But if they knock... I don't think I'll ever do this, just a thought.

And if I ever passed wires through our house, I'd make sure to make it worth the effort by adding a camera!
