Goat Tower Answered

Want to raise goats, but are short on real estate? That's ok, build a tower!

David Johnson built his own tower out of 5,000 handmade bricks, each one a different size and shape! "The goats love it, and the people driving by can't believe it."

There are currently only three goat towers in the world. We hope to see the fourth one posted here! (hint hint)

I have a part fainting goat. He is black and white with pretty blue and gold eyes but, he doesn't faint. His other part is angora so he is fuzzy and cute.

In my head, I read that to say that you have a "fart painting goat."
"That is an incredible paint job!! How did you do it?"
"My goat, he farted."

So, the fainting gene must not be the dominant one. <br />

Goats are one of the oldest domesticated animals.  In many countries, they eat goat like we eat beef.  They are easy to raise, and provide milk, meat, and  hides.  They also make good pets, as goats are very smart.  Yes, they can be a pain, but it's not like you should consider raising it in your back yard in the 'burbs.  Check out this statement from http://www.foodandbeverageunderground.com/goat-meat.html:  According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a 3-ounce serving of goat has 122 calories and 2.6 grams of fat, of which less than 1 gram is from saturated fat. Beef, by contrast, is 179 calories, 7.9 grams of fat, with 3 grams from saturated fat. Even chicken is higher in these components, with 162 calories, 6.3 grams of fat and 1.7 grams of saturated fat.

No, you don't. They eat EVERYTHING, including the roses, they constantly jump fences, they're generally a pain...

They TASTE everything(actually, they are very picky but, will eat your flowers and usually papers). They do constantly jump(mine have eight foot fences and a lock on the gate but, they still get out. Mine are nice, I show them at the fair and they walk on a leash.

I agree. You DONT want goats. You need a Fortress to keep the flipping things in. They eat everything except what they're supposed to eat. The "experts" say you should give them best hay etc. Mine eat the mankiest, mouldiest straw/hay they can find. They eat the tree barks, anything woody (as in the bars in their pen windows) etc. Mind you - you can get wonderful milk, cheese or yoghurts from them. Haz

I'm disappointed...I was hoping for a tower made of goats (goat cheerleaders?)!

That would be more of a pyramid than a tower.

Interesting. I thought the tower would be the goat herder's house and the goats would use the space around the tower.
