HOW TO BUILD OR WHERE TO BUY CHEAP & SIMPLE AUDIO HARDWARE? Answered

I am looking to buy the INNER hardware for a small/cheap recording device. I just need the hardware to record 30secs of voice audio. I do not need an outter casing for the hardware as I am making my own case for the hardware. Nothing fancy just cheap & basic. HELP!!!!!!!!! Thanks! Tracey

Cheap refurbished MP3 player. Most Sandisk's come with a decent voice recorder. Radio Shack used to sell the chips which you could record to. (I think they were 8-bit sound) I agree about the greeting card idea also. With a bit of research I bet you could figure out how to reprogram them.

I have heard of greeting cards that let you record a short message. I don't know if they'll record 30 seconds though. Maybe look for something like that and disassemble and embed wherever.

Maybe you'll be able to find something on www.dealextreme.com. They may not have a "caseless" recorder, but their prices are so low you could tear off the factory case and just use the guts.
