Has anyone else noticed they are losing data from unpublished instructables you may be working on? Answered

For a while now while I am working on an unpublished instructable the auto save function I believe is backfiring.  Instead of saving it actually deletes whole sections.  I thought oh well, I can always go to the history section and copy/paste or click revert.  To my horror it deletes the text from that step all the way back to step one, aaaaaaaaaaah.  I thought perhaps that this was isolated, to the one you might be working on.  Nope, when I opened a second one I had been working on, the intro has now been deleted.  Yes, including in the history as well....

Wow, what a bummer man... I haven't had this happen myself, but I just wanted to let you know that you should probably post this in "Help; Bugs" as a forum topic. Your much more likely to find a solution that way.

It happened to me a couple weeks ago (around Jan 14) when the site went to a new format. One morning I was almost done and that afternoon all my work was GOON. After crying to a very nice suggested I try going to my unpublished edit page and to hold down the shift key, then to click refresh symbol and < WOW > all my work was back on line. Good Luck.

I had this happen when I was doing my Flying Geese 'ible. IIRC it happened when I uploaded the pictures directly into the step rather than pulling them from my gallery. However in my case I was able to go back to the history and find the text that had vanished.

Please post a bug report about this. You can also send a PM to Matt (StumpChunkman, I'bles' user/bugs interface person), and ask if they can recover your I'ble from their database backups. You'll need to provide the exact URL, not just the name or description.

I did post on the user forums, help, bug. Thanks. Not sure if I will bother with the data base retreival or not as it is simple to rewrite it. Nice to know though if they can di it or not.
