I've dismantled a cheap & nasty fax machine. Out of this I've extracted a Dyna Image scanning unit, CFL illumination, 7 wires. I'd quite like to use the CFL, and maybe the scanning part, but does anyone know how to use this? I've not found this particular unit on the internet - sticker says "DL100-05EUIC (BARCODE) PHFA201663" L

that is not a cfl it is a led bar and i tested at 3v and the light is green:D
PS. i have one DL100-05EUIC PHD5105247 DYNA IMAGE CO.

with the scanning face down and the wires in left you have 3 pin in right end of pcb the midle one is not conected:)

Product info from the Fax machine itself (ID codes, etc.) may help in finding Schematics, if they would be of any help.

I could look for them that's not a bad idea, excepting that I wouldn't expect to find them (not having found a data sheet for the item pictured). I might have a look. L

The fax board is an EU version, but the USA code printed on it is HM1-1375. It also has HK1-0931 01 as the main number on the board but I don't think either of those will help me on the scanning unit? L

can you trace the wires on the fax machine? the ones that go to the CFL are probably connected to a transformer can you take it apart further? separate the scanner from the CFL?

I could trace them back, and I may have to... L
