Help with LCD Answered

Hello everyone, Just recently I took apart my broken CD Player hoping to find something useful to tool around with. I took out the LCD display, but now what? I have never worked with LCD's and never have learned about them. I have done some reasearch online, but I could not find anything that would help me put it to use other than in my CD player. I don't really know how I could put it to use, so if anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Brennn10

Have you still got the glass display attached to the board? If not, forget it. And ss previously commented, without a controller, this is going to be hard work.

Unless it uses a standard controller chip, it's probably not worth it. If it has a Hitachi-compatible controller chip, it's reasonably easy to interface to using a microcontroller, or you PC.

Yea, I didn't find anything to connect to the LCD to micro control it, and plus I probably can't do anything with it because it was connected through a circuit board, not directly from a set of wires. Thanks anyway! -Brennn10
