High fashion functional commuter wear men, women, or unisex!? Answered

Hi everyone,
I am a fourth year design student researching a niche in the cycling market.
I am researching womens males or unisex commuter wear that is both high end and functional.
I am marketing for the vancouver market.
Heres a questionaire I'd love to hear some answers on!!
1) Would you wear high end stylish functional cycling wear?
2) Would you wear it to and from the office?
3) What if it suit your business attire?
4) What if it didn't look like cycling wear, but it fuctioned great on a bike ( mesh areas for breathing, liners for sweat, natural fibers for breathing)?
5) What would you like to see for chic funtional commuter wear?
6) What if it was water proof... or had water proof layers?

This is a poor way to collect data. Your sample size will be less than 10 and you won't know the demographics.
Unfortunately I don't know a good way of doing your own market-research on the internet.

Lemonie,

At the moment my thesis is in its beginning development phase. This being said, any information, regardless of demographics and psychographic, will help. This is just one of the websites I posted my questionnaire.

As a grad of soon to be 2012, I am quite knowledgable of the opportunities market-research brings via internet. This being said, if you have any ideas regarding what would make it easier for you to respond to such questions, or if there is a better display option please feel free to pass your ideas!

Thanks,

Bethany

I'd suggest printing ~4 of these on a sheet of Letter / A4 maybe 50 times, cutting them up and asking around your place of learning. Your peers are going to become a section of your future / theoretical market.
Online, and in particular in the "help" section of a Maker-site, is not too good.

Best wishes for your thesis anyway.

1) Yes, I cycle myself.
2) Definitely, depending of how it's comfortable and still looks good, so as long i don't look ridiculous in it.
3) I would definitely buy it
4) I would also buy it, depending on the price of course, and personally, I don't like see through mesh, or full black because of sunlight, but i wouldn't mind wearing one of those either.
5) YES.
6) That would be really useful for unforeseen rain, or chances of rain that happen to do happen.

1. no
2. no
3. no
4. no
5. for it to go away- I don't want to wear it, nor do i want to have to look at other people wearing it.
6. no.

I would like to also point out that I'm not in Vancouver. Perhaps you'd be better served finding a cycling audience, or at the least rephrasing the questions to fit a wider audience.

Thank you for your constructive criticism, I will check out the bike section of this website and will work on the questions. This is just the beginning idea so I wanted to generalize it a bit.

Again, thanks for the response!

If you look under the outside category, you will find a bikes section. Ask the question there and you might get some answers.

This would make a better forum topic.

There are also several free "survey" websites - try creating one of those, and it will collate the answers for you.
