How can I connect a 120VAC timer to a powered 24VDC switch. Answered

I have a 120VAC power supply operating a timer. That timer needs to provide an interupt signal to a switch operating on 24VDC. What would I need to do to accomplish this? I need a very cheap, temporary solution as this equipment is going to be replaced in the next couple weeks.  I do need a solution quickly though, because the components I am operating are critical to the compliance side of the equipment function. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks!

Use the timer to pull in a mains coil relay. Use the contacts to switch your load.

Yep, first question didn't take long to come up with. I am assuming that I need a relay with 120VAC input and a 24vdc coil?

120V coil, then I'm just using the relay to open/close my 24VDC + right? Then the relay I'm looking for is two channel, 120VAC coil. But as long as the coil voltage matches my line voltage all I have to do is run the DC POS though the open/closed connection and I'm good.BTW, nice answer mill. You guys should teach a class or something.........cause I kinda feel like I'm getting schooled right now....

Yes, that's what you need to do. Use the contacts to close your 24V circuit.

Here is what you need
just as steve described :-)

Gentlemen, thank you! Thats a whole lot simpler than what I was going to do. Stick around though, i may ask 15 more questions before I'm through!

Just an answer mill for you ;-)
