How can I get around DNS on a computer? Answered

Use the canonical IP address of the location your are visiting. It's not a 100% solution, but it often works when  DNS is crapped out.

What exactly are you trying to access, and how has the school blocked your access?

.  In WinXP:
.  Control Panel:Network Connections:<your connection>:Properties:TCP/IP:Properties:DNS Addresses. Put in DNS addresses that work for you.
.
.  Or type in the IP addresses directly - a DNS is not required.
