How do I open a Certificate Trust List in Inventor so I can pull dimensions and manipulate the object? Answered

I am trying to open a CTL file that was downloaded from thingiverse and Inventor is giving me problems opening and manipulating the object(engine block). I converted it to an STL  but it still will not let me place it in a drawing.

Just imported your link straight into my CAM software. Looks OK to me.

You are opening an STL, not a CTL, its only looking like a CTL in Windows. When I tried to import the STL into my professional CAD system, the import failed for me too.

I don't have inventor but the file I downloaded is an STL file as it comes. This I can open in the native win 10 3D viewer and can manipulate beyond that I can't see any problems with the file.

I use Sketchup but the STL import function on sketchup 2016 doesn't work yet.
