How do you keep your email private? Answered

I have Gmail I noticed that ad banners appear on the subject that is contained in the email. Is there any way to stiop this from happening?

Not using Gmail. When it was first launched, this was announced as the tradeoff for getting a much larger inbox than was available with the other big email providers. Which is why I don't have a gmail account. :)

+1. "You may not always get what you pay for, but you'll never get what you're unwilling to pay for." If you don't want your data scanned for marketing opportunities, don't go near Google; that's their business.

Encrypt the email prior to send and use a decryption scheme at the receiving end. PGP used to be very popular for this purpose.

For real privacy you have to run your own mail server.

If you don't want to see these ads, use AdBlock. But I'm sure you want to stop them all together, which yokozuna said is not possible. Sorry, hope you can find a solution.
