How many farads do I need (capacitor)?
I'm making a voltage multiplier circuit which involves the use of diodes and capacitors but I'm not sure how many farads I'd need for the capacitors. The input voltage for the first stage is 12kV 30mA.

Is the 12KV an AC sine-wave or a pulse wave....

The most important question you should be asking yourself is, what will the output voltage be?
and more importantly, what distance air gap will that voltage jump.
You seem to be looking under the wrong bush, playing hide n seek with very high voltage... not a happy ending.

Farads you won't need, mF or µF you might.
The type and capacity needs to match the input voltage times 2 (just to be on the save side although there are a few combinations possible.
Since this a potentially lethal exeriment you are trying I really suggest to forget about it until you actually know what you are doing and what risks are involved..
