How to make bionic ear, using ordinary microhpone? Answered

How can one make extra sensitive bionic ear, with hearing capabilities which are far beyond the powers of normal human ear.

I saw a video tutorial about it long ago but now that i want to make one, i could not find it after lots of online searches.

Get an un-used satellite dish. Not a ten foot one... one of those little ones for direct tv or dish network. Remove the LNB/feedhorn thing. Rig your microphone to the same area where the focalpoint was for the LNB.  This would probably really work very well and would be very directional... and would be "CAMOFLAGED" as an innocent satellite dish !!! and would cost about NOTHING to build !!  Good luck with it.

Shave your head around the ear-area, make a cut through you skin with a craft-knife behind your ear, then drill a hole in your skull. Poke the output wires from the microphone-device into your auditory-nerve and stitch yourself-up.
(You might want someone to help you with this)


Mr Lemonie, you should be nicer to people.
It's called a cochlear implant and Lemonie should have told you to use anesthesia before cutting yourself. I prefer tequila before self-surgery.

The question was about bionics, without the ". You are completely correct on the anesthesia of course, tequila I'm sure would be just fine, but I'd go for dark-rum  myself (sort of traditional in the naval-surgery theme)


I think I would have to have several Top Shelf Pina Coladas to give that one a shot :P

You'll need a microphone and a curved surface to act as a reflector and concentrator.  A better term for this reflector is a "parabolic dish".  I found a very inexpensive and easy to follow tutorial here: https://www.instructables.com/id/Dollar-Store-Parabolic-Mic/

Highly directional microphone (parabolic reflector is the standard solution).
Good strong amplifier. 
VERY IMPORTANT: Limiter circuit, so when a louder-than-expected noise comes through you don't blow the amp and/or your eardrums.
Headphones. Should have good isolation to help prevent feedback.
